  • ChatGPT just got memory which allows it to remember things between chats. As you chat with ChatGPT, it will become more useful.
You can always use temporary chat if you don’t want ChatGPT to have any memory when responding.
Memory is on by default. To turn it off, go to settings, personalization, and toggle off memory.
You can also manage memories. Deactivating memories or deleting chats that created that memory doesn’t’ remove the memory. The manage option allows you to remove or modify existing memories.
Another option is you can ask chatGPT to forget something during a chat.
    Practical memory applications.
Turn a screenshot into a "about me" memory.
    Write a blog post
Prompt: Everything I type this, :blog: I want you to take the text I paste and turn it into a blog post. It needs to be written at a 5th grade reading level, educational but friendly tone, have H1 and H2 tags, and SEO friendly.
    Write various headlines
Prompt: Everything I type :headline: I want you to analyze the headline I paste and give me 5 alternatives for it.
    Exclude words
Never use this word when responding. Delve. Commit this to memory.
    Add email signature
Prompt: here is my email signature. Every time you reply to an email, make sure to add this email signature. (insert signature)

This is an AWESOME update. I took a 9-page report that was 3672 words, uploaded it, and had ChatGPT write a blog post based on your prompt. It returned a 421-word blog post. I made a few edits and bam, it's ready to go. Talk about an eye-opening time saver. Thank you, Saj!!! You Rock!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Here is my super detailed prompt for turning any text doc into a blog.
Please transform the following text into an informative blog post using a formal style. The tone should be straightforward, emphasizing details without promotional language. Properly format the content using headings and subheadings (formatted as H1 and H2 respectively). but avoid using the terms title, H1' or 'H2'. Make sure the title is always formatted as H1. Make it as SEO friendly as possible to show in search and use the title for the term to rank for in search. Important note: for reading level, analyze the text I’m pasting and match the reading level, when writing this blog. Keep the reading level at the exact same reading level as the original text that I paste. This is very important.
And don’t ever mention the word blog or article. Just write it without mentioning what the type of content you are writing.
And keep the tone the same as the tone of the original text. IMPORTANT: It is critical reading level is no more than 5th grade reading level.

@@SkillLeapAI Isn't that a bit confusing though? Early in the prompt, you say it's important to keep the reading level the same as the pasted text. However, at the bottom, you say it's critical to keep it at 5th grade reading level. Does that mean you only paste text at that level, or do you expect the earlier prompt to supersede the final one?

Wonderful that the memory function has finally been released! 💪 I have been eagerly waiting for several months! Unfortunately, as usual, I have to wait an indefinite time longer, since I live in Europe, Sweden specifically. 🇸🇪

I just don't get why it's not available in Europe. If a person specifically asks ChatGPT to remember something, it's not violating any privacy laws.

This is a major improvement to ChatGPT and the way the video explains different ways of using Memory.
I look forward to learning more about this. This is a topic well worth exploring more. In deference to Saj Adibs, I am not asking him to "delve" into this.

10:08 does is now know it that it never use „delve“ again? Because I has the issue that even when I tell I don’t want to answer with “!” It never gets it and it answered answer with it. I am in Europe so I can not test memory’s yet.

    🎬 ChatGPT Memory: A Huge Upgrade 🧠
⚙(00:00) Introduction: The video dives into ChatGPT's new memory feature, available for Plus users in certain regions (excluding Europe and Korea). This allows ChatGPT to remember information across different chat sessions.
🗺(00:31) Accessing Memory: Enable memory through Settings > Personalization > Memory. Manage and delete specific memories as needed.
    📑(02:27) Practical Examples:
    1. **Work History:** Upload a LinkedIn profile or resume screenshot to store your work history, enabling ChatGPT to utilize it in contexts like crafting email signatures.
    2. **Text Repurposing Shortcut:** Create a shortcut prompt like "blog" to convert pasted text (e.g., UA-cam transcripts) into blog posts with specified formatting and reading level.
    3. **Headline Alternatives Shortcut:** Set up a "headline" shortcut to generate alternative headlines for any pasted text.
    4. **Ban Unwanted Words:** Instruct ChatGPT to avoid specific words like "delve" for a more personalized feel and to minimize the "AI-generated" vibe.
    5. **Email Signature:** Store your email signature for automatic inclusion in ChatGPT-generated replies.
⏳(11:28) Future Implications: This memory feature holds the potential to revolutionize custom ChatGPT models by offering personalized context and information.
    ✅ Benefits:
✅ Time-saving by eliminating the need for repetitive prompts.
✅ Personalization and customization of ChatGPT interactions.
✅ Increased efficiency for tasks such as content creation and email communication.
    ❌ Cons:
❌ Limited availability to Plus users in certain regions.
❌ Potential privacy concerns if sensitive data is stored.
👍 The video is a valuable resource for understanding and utilizing ChatGPT's memory feature, making it worth a like for those interested in maximizing their AI experience.
