Those villagers aren't even bad people. They knew what that place was and were preventing a spread. It just sucks people aren't warned.
They are bad people cause they keep unaware people prisoners. How could these students know something bad was going on on the pyramid when no one warned them? This tribe didn't even try to communicate. They just automatically see someone there and keep them prisoners or kill them. I see no empathy, no nothing in this. Just a primitive tribe that doesn't give a single crap about people finding themselves in circumstances they didn't want to. When Amy threw the plant at this little boy they killed him with no remorse. I know- being scared of widespread infection but those villagers for sure were no good people. Besides, if you were the one kept in the pyramid prisoner- far away from home, from family, at the end o the world in the middle of nowhere deep down inside the jungle...I think in such circumstances you wouldn't write that.
@@aziatix1168actually in the book they are. The cab driver in the drop off scene I think said it was a bad place. Also, f they did and they went home, sooner or later rumors of this mysterious place would spread and then a Logan Paul shows and the game is up. We still die because curiosity tends to overtake caution these days

this is the good ending, so much better than the unrated.
I remember this movie back when it first came out when I was 18 and let me tell you this shit resonated with me and still gives me nightmares about somthing crawling under my skin.
That's why there were warnings of not to go to certain islands and mainland in the Amazon, because of cannibal tribes. That was in the 70s, but people still didn't believe the authorities, to their demise, but in this movie I think these explorers airplane crash landed and they didn't have a choice. It's not that they're murderers, but they believe somehow that eating their enemies make them stronger. As with any belief, these people took it to the extreme.
Brian Landers I think you’re referring to “The Green Inferno” the Eli Roth horror movie. Very cannibalistic. This movie never had a plan crash .. they just went off to explore with the help of a Switzerland young fella & they walked into a trap full of an other worldly tribe believing that these plants were malevolent creatures so whomever had gone near or even touched these plants , they were killed instantly because they didn’t want any of these plants to be spread towards the rest of outside world , it’s a very interesting contrast between the story but it nevertheless didn’t quite explore.
@@joemunguia1228 your right about what he’s is referring to. This movie doesn’t have a plane crash, they went to the ruins by car then walked. The local tribes of you can call them that just wouldn’t let them leave in fear whatever was there would spread if someone left

That old man was pissed he got one over on them. It was epic. I forgot about this movie.
I definitely prefer this ending where she successfuly escapes and survives rather than the alternative one where she gets infected. I watched this movie today with German dub for the first time in like 13 years and I was shocked to see a plant crawling under Amy's eye. I was like: "I don't remember that". Turned out, there are a few ending versions and the canonic one is when she doesn't get infected. I support happy endings so I consider Amy escaping the jungle and living her life happily ever after as a true canonic ending.

The happy ending is not the true ending, they planned a sequel but after the plan was dropped and released a soft version.
I seriously doubt she would live happily ever after even if she had successfully escaped. All her friends and her boyfriend died and killer plants were taking over, I think it’s safe to say she would be wacked out of her mind regardless.

I can suspend disbelief but when a story is internally inconsistent, then the movie sucks. I watched this on video and right away i realized its own story doesn't work. The map is on a paper. Nobody could receive a map to the ruins because no one could ever leave and deliver a map. No map, no story.
Great movie
The escape of Jena happened in an instant. The woman who is Mary from another drama about pregnancy during Christianity called Saved.
Jena was also Johanna with Lawrence, the other who is Katniss, both of them together in The Hunger Games.
