The Note 9 was ranked as the best phone to watch video content on. iPhones wasnt even in the ranking. It was ranked the worst to watch content on. The Note 9 DOUBLES iPhones LTE speeds. At the end of the day, iPhones are trash.

as an iphone user i find these tests not a reason to buy a phone. Your life is not going to chance if you have to wait a few seconds. The most important thing to buy a phone is what you like to use the most, for me it's apple ecosystem, but there are things that i would love to see from the android side to come over ( like youtube 4K on my 4K apple tv and iphone X ). So please don't hate on each other, and show some respect to each side and give kudos where kudos is justified

The iPhone XR is a pretty impressive. The iPhone XS Max with the extra gigabyte of RAM in my opinion did make a difference. However for $750 this iPhone is definitely in my opinion is The better option you saving money and the Samsung galaxy note 9 really isn’t all that much faster then iPhone XR in the second round except for one app . I’m starting to think Apple made a pretty solid iPhone with the iPhone XR

I agree apple Totally nailed it. As far as the other comment I don’t care much about the other phone because they don’t have the added software support neither are they as reliable as apple. Plus once they optimize iOS 12 to the max I doubt he will be the same story. Furthermore The other phone did not beat apple It may have been close but that’s it. How can you consider the 800.00 bucks for the XR is a budget phone? The display on the note is absolutely stunning. Plus all the premium features including the kitchen sink. For myself I'd rather spend the extra 2hundred. The note is the swiss army knife of all phones. It does everything well!

Well the difference in speed is minor, people forget that samsung still has a headphone jack a better battery and accessories included in box like a fast charger and a usb to type c accessory and sd card slot, 2 sim card slots and the note has a pen inside the phone!!! Plus the xr is the fastest phone because its display is 780 pipi max which is made by samsung and that is what allows the chip to be faster cuz the resolution ain't as good. But props to apple for making a user friendly phone, and being able to utilize a 780 pipi display in 2018, welldone I might consider buying this.

This doesn't show how fast the phone/SoC is. It just shows the speed on which the app gets transferred to activate memory. But Xr has a better SoC even in terms of GPU and CPU.

Super AMOLED on the S9 while the XR has a LCD screen. It only looks like that right next to the Super AMOLED panel. XR blows everything else away although we all know its not more feature packed than the S9.

Not really. When the phone is restarted, it has to adapt to all the things you've changed and obviously this guy changed the design of the clock which is not possible on the Iphone. So first it was the normal clock but then it changed. It's not a glitch

Brandon, when doing speed tests like these, please ensure all the apps on either phone you’re gonna be testing are Signed in with exact settings, etc. but great video. An average consumer won’t be too bothered about few seconds of differences in the load time anyway. Reload on the heavy gaming apps is legit

I personally like the XR over the note 9, but this test seems very biased. From the start he swiped the xr further before swiping the note 9 to launch the camera. Later when he tried to clear all program running, he only showed clearing the xr but cut the scene of him clearing background program for note 9. Later when he compare camera launching again, he only switch the note9 to front facing camera but not the xr, so you can't visually compare the two. When running the speedtest, he did the full test on note 9, but again cut the scene for xr but only showing the final result, which could mean he ran multiple times internet speed test to obtained the best result on xr. Whenever xr gets slower, he would say maybe the software is not optimized, and if it is clear that it has nothing to do with the optimization, he would mention that samsung has a bigger ram and more expensive, just so to keep reminding people that note9 is more expensive so it supposed to be faster in everyway. Lastly, whenever xr won, he would say xr crashed it or very impressive, as opposed to note9 winning, he would sound really disappointed and just acknowledge that the note9 won.
Objectly I feel XR has its advantage in certain ways, it seems smoother and very quick at launching games. But the note9 seems to be more powerful from its hardware and launches most app a little faster.

If you don’t think iPhones are processing tasks in the background, you’re simply wrong. The iPhone simply has a superior processor and more efficient operating system.
So iphone is better than android when it comes to speed. But what about camera, display, headphone jack, S pen(On note 9), SD card, etc. If you keep scrolling, you'll find a boatload of apple fanboys bragging about the speed. I admit, the iphone has some pretty nifty features, but android is so much more customizable. You can litterally download and install iOS on android. ISHEEP COMMENT IN 3...2...1!

This is a speed test. It's meant to test the speed. That's what this video is all about. Don't like speed tests? Guess what? Don't watch it! Of course, phones have their pros and cons, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't let some phone we don't like outshine another phone we like. Rather, my point is this is NOT a "budget" phone on the factor he's testing -- speed. It's the same chip as the one on the "flagship" iPhones so he is REALLY comparing a flagship new iPhone on the chip to a one year old snapdragon chip on the note 9, and yet the tone he used kept implying this is "budget" iphone beat Samsung flagship note9, which is highly misleading for the reasons I gave above. Noone has issue with speed, noone says anything about no iPhone has pros and cons. Just bc you're triggered, doesn't mean you know what you're talking about or even possess the ability to understand an argument in the first place.
Samson Su If he tested Samsung mid-range phones like the A line it would be truly embarrassing as they run slower cheap outdated chips and the XR would make it look like something from 2010. So I do not SEE your point, choices have to be made when you go down a price grade. Apple decided to have a lower resolution screen, Samsung a 2 year old chip. For me, as a techie and not a superficial person, having performance over pixels science says you cannot see anyway is an easy choice. Advantages include future proofing, faster frame rates, less stress and heat on lower res screen, better battery life, etc. No real advantage of higher resolution other than bragging rights. So although I see what you are trying to say, to me your argument is flawed and pointless.

I think the Note 9 won overall here. The XR won most of the app openings, particularly games, but the Note did better at RAM management and web browsing. IMO it's more important to keep apps open in the background. I notice more when apps reload than apps taking an extra few seconds to open

Every time you export video in iOS when you have heavy apps running in RAM, the RAM does clear out the most apps (just like iPhone X, 3 GB of RAM struggles in iOS with heavy stuff). That’s not an issue anymore more with XS because of that extra GB of RAM.

I recently had a Galaxy note 8 and switched to an iPhone XS and I love it! I have always been a iPhone user and I wanted to try a Andriod device last year. I didn’t like the Samsung all that much. It was a nice phone and it was fast for a few months, but then it began to have a ton of issues. My apps crashed all the time, the camera waa awful, and it was beyond laggy! I think iPhones stay faster a lot longer. My samsung was only fast for a few months. I dont think i will be switching back to andriod unless they can fix the constant buggy software it has. I am definitely an iphone person, but that doesn’t mean that I hate andriods. It was just the experience i had with andriod 🤷🏻♀️

The funny thing is, I actually switched from a Galaxy Note 9 to an iPhone Xr. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVED my Note 9, the screen was amazing, it had a lot of features, and all that jazz....but I found that I didn't really use all of the features I bought it for. I didn't really multitask a lot, the S pen was cool but I rarely used it, and I consider myself sort of the battery saving type so I didn't have the screen at 100% resolution a lot unless I was watching a movie or UA-cam video. I kinda missed iOS (I'm one of those people that switch from Android to iOS and back to Android a lot) and I was already thinking about getting an iPhone anyway. The Xr is a little beast. Yeah the screen might not be as good, but in day to day use I really don't notice unless you stare really hard at some of the text, or use an app like Instagram which for some reason the text is kinda blurry (although that might be an Instagram issue not an iPhone issue). Other than that, the phone is great. The camera is great, the speakers are great, the phone is amazing for how much it costs, the only thing I really miss IS the fact that the Note 9 had an outstanding screen and I like the design just a bit more (contrary to popular belief I do kinda like the notch on the iPhone but the Samsung notchless design is still a bit better) and that I could charge the phone and listen to music through wired headphones at the same time. Other than that, the Xr is pretty cool.

iPhones are undeniably faster than any Android counterpart of the same year regarding anything about games and photo/video manipulation. Because of that I tried the iPhone X and besides single tasks are always faster, the phone held my productivity a lot, so I couldn't help but come back to my Galaxy Note. Most apps don't run in background, many apps don't communicate, making it super complicated to join together files from different sources without using one app fpr each step, some apps have permissions that others don't so you always need to realize which app you're gonna use to download, access, edit the files, apps can share files with a limited number of other apps. It's too complicated to me.

I wouldn't say that this is really unexpected. The Xr is running a lower resolution with essentially the same hardware as a Xs, so it is bound to be faster at loading gaming applications. As far as optimization Apple makes everything so the applications and software are going to be better optimized for the hardware.
Android is still a great platform, but as far as optimization goes Apple has Android beat.
It's stupid to think that a UA-cam Channel dedicated to Apple can do a *fair test*
Maybe when you do a versus make sure that you played already the game or opend the app on both phones because when booting up the app the first time its need load more because it gotta coppie the data.
