To be honest The conqueror "shieldless bug" is even cooler because it makes it look like his gauntlet is so durable weapons literally bounce off from it and you literally slap people with a closed fist whenever you execute or shield bash
I remember when Conqueror was terrifying to face. I stopped playing a while ago, but at that time he had recently been nerfed so that his SPIKED FLAIL ended up doing peacekeeper levels of toothpick damage. It was pretty sad, actually, even for someone who never played him.
I love conq and I'm a tin can for life but I gotta say fighting him at the moment (as of Sept 24th, 2018) He could use some tweaking to his shield bash. So far I can think of three ways to make it less rage inducing if you will First and this applies to games with feats. Remove shield bash damage. With the 10 damage and 15 damage from the bash and light, conq get essentially free heavys. This would make it so conqs can't rely on it so much for tons of damage. Second make his first light directly after the bash do less damage. Let's say 5 for sides and 7 for a top, but after that lights in the combo still do 15 damage like they should. This way even with bash (10 damage) he's still doing light damage in total and again conqs won't be able to rely on it to drain enemies HP so quickly Finally, Make it so the first bash punishable to heroes that cant do a dodge attack. So lights, as well as a small window for free GB's, might be good putting added risk to the first bash. That way if the person fighting conq manages to get lucky they can at least do some damage back rather than an immediate light to the face. I don't think any of these would be perfect fixes but it could be a start so that way conq isnt a safe hero to pick for easy games but still viable because we all know that his bash is pretty much his only usable opener.
