Analogy of autotune is totally irrelevant, fretwrap is useful when you're playing stuff which can't be muted with right hand , like multi string tapping sequences. To play everything using a fretwrap is definitely like using a crutch. Players like Guthrie govan, greg howe , matteo Mancuso, scott henderson use it. Are they anywhere in the same league as Salman Khan in vocals? No. They are mighty guitar gods.

FretWraps are adjustable straps that wrap easily around the neck of your guitar to dampen or mute the strings. FretWraps can also be used for live recording when you want to keep unwanted string noise or ringing at bay????????
