"So smooth and freakishly powerful". Perfect description. Crazy athleticism, quick handles and can make his own shot. I'm sold.
Timberwolves got extremely lucky, we finally had a GM who gave our organization literally one of the greatest drafts in NBA history!
Looking at this again. You were so on point. This is the best analysis I’ve seen recently especially giving how Ant Man is playing this summer.
Who’s watching this during 2024 Playoffs🙌🏽 Dominating the Game
He’s a dawg on 2k
What!!🤣💯
@@justdoitdev2025 that dude must have some unreleased 2k21 game
@@SolaceMcfly I'm using him off a downloaded draft in MyLeague
47 til infinity they got him on my team
My team duh
Who is here after he got drafted 1st overall?
Well, I hope he's good but might boycott like i did last season if they continue their anti usa B.S. =P
@@DyingBreed8 anti usa? 98% of the nba is america
Put him on the grizzlies and that teams diff
Facts
We don’t need him if we do pick him up ja still gonna be the captain Nd floor general
There's no way that happens but imagine him staying in Atlanta... Trae - Edwards - Reddish - Collins - Capela is a nasty starting 5 w/ Huerter and Hunter off the bench
Lito I feel you I didn’t even think this comment would be noticed this much
Aiden Bignell yea they don’t need em but imagine him and ja in the backcourt
He got potential
Black Night Potential has gotten a lot of coaches rings... It’s a two way street fam
Black Night well that’s what a lottery draft is lmao it’s high risk but high reward as well
Hopefully whoever drafts him has good culture or a good development focused head coach like Kenny Atkinson or someone like that. Guy has all the tools but has none of the discipline to use them correctly, kinda like Kobe, but also like Andrew Wiggins, Dion Waiters, and Mario Hezonja. From his film study he did with Mike earlier this year, the guy seems super coachable and wants to see his mistakes so he can improve on them. If a coach commits to helping him learn I have zero doubt man can live up to his potential
This wonderful man Anthony Edwards has changed the Timberwolves in the most transcendent manner!
We love him in Minnesota
4:06 Victor Oladipo went #2 behind Anthony Bennett, not #1. I’m assuming that’s what he meant
That’s basically #1 lmao
@@rutgersryan1 lol
@@rutgersryan1 he would have gone #1 if he didn't tell Cleveland that he didn't want to play on a team that had already drafted 2 guards (Kyrie and Waiters) that would stifle his playing time
They compared him to everybody but Beal
Agree he's a stronger Brad beal
Probably because Beal is skinny compared to this kid!
also john wall has a very similar build, both 6'4" and around 220 pounds
Welcome to the minnesota timberwolves!
Fingers crossed we pick him...no way do I want Ball on the Wolves.
The pick is getting traded unless one of those guys blow them a way in workouts.
Ball would just leave the wolves the second he’s in free agency, or just demand a trade
@@ruzruzammub3625 yeah Ball and that drama connected too him, i don't want that on my Wolves, and good point he will want a big market aka LA.
Edwards is literally dion waiters
Two theories:
The worst thing he does are pull-up 3s in transition. They are incredibly popular, but he's not a good enough shooter, and he's "so tough" to stop going to the rim, it's a waste. I'd be interested to see what getting rid of that would do for his efficiency, both by raising his 3-point percentage and giving him more shots in the paint. Pull-ups in the half-court or step-backs are fine, but stop pulling up at the top of the arch when you are basically 1-on-1 on a fastbreak.
The other: he's really athletic, but he needs to sloooow waaaaay doooown. I'm glad you made the Harden comp. He's another people say isn't athletic because he plays so deliberately. But he's actually athletic. I also see some of Luka Doncic's game in him. Just like Allen Iverson stretched the carry rule to its extreme and dared refs to call it on his crossover, does Doncic (and Harden) with traveling.
Edwards is so big and can take such long-steps. No one is going to bump him off his route to the lane. Step-backs, hesis, euro-steps, in-and-outs, these are all marks of a slower, more deliberate approach. Being big and strong (he's already the size of Doncic and Kawhi and bigger than Harden), he can just keep defenders on his hip. (Jimmy Butler is another).
Butler, Harden, Luka all have vastly different games, as does Edwards. But they all play "slow" in a good way, and they use their strength to their advantage. I'd be interested to see what Edwards could do in that manner rather than relying on his explosiveness and speed to make everything work.
As a t-wolves fan, I really like his game. Lack of effort on defense is concerning when MN already has D'lo and KAT on the team but I hope he will improve defensively since he has strong physical tools. Bringing Rubio back was a good decision. He helped Donovan Mitchell and Devin Booker with his playmaking ability. I believe Edeards will improve his shooting percentage bcause he doesnt have to carry the offense in MN since they have three good scorers in D'lo, KAT and Beasley. Cant wait to watch him play in NBA
3 years later we have an all nba guard. Wolves going to the finals next year
I think we forget this kid is 18,in my opinion he has a high floor and high ceiling if he cleans up the pnr reads, catch and shoot shooting, motor on both ends(especially defensive) and a higher consistent fg percentage.
My favorite NBA player
I see a bigger Victor Oladipo in the making
SomeRandomDunker nah just oladipo lmao
@@nsrivatsa5167 3wwg
He reminds me of an Oladipo Butler hybrid
He reminds me of a prime Lance Stephenson
teeblo 😂😂That’s a insult
Him being 6'5 225 pounds is impressive, having a 40+ inch vert is even more impressive, being able to create his own shot on the dribble and having great footwork and body control is really impressive but if he REALLY does have a 7-foot wingspan that makes him a freak! To be honest he's probably the best SG prospect to come out of college since Michael Jordan in terms of his ceiling. All of his flaws are easy fixes with the right coach and system. Like Kobe, he's not taking bad shots because he can't make them, he's doing it because the game comes too easy for him and he gets bored with the mundane BUT he def needs to stop taking those ridiculous long two's and 3's so early in the shot clock or he's going to be riding the bench during his rookie season. I'd def draft him ahead of Melo.
Ok calm down dude, no one was like Mike out of college lol.
@@UniversaIs713 Bro, you're like a kid to me. You weren't even around when Jordan got out of college. I'm from the Westside of Chicago and saw Jordan play LIVE at the Old Chicago Stadium and the UC. I never said he was like Jordan coming out of college I said he might be the best prospect at SG since Jordan coming out of college. FOH!
@@WallTrapMedia bruh... Youre sucking this kid off way too much, say this stuff when he makes the Nba and plays against actual competition
@@eljefe9140 he's spitting fax tho, dude is a beast athletically and has a very dynamic scoring ability. He's gonna be good in the league
@@UniversaIs713 Mike wasn't even really considered GOAT material out of college, he was but people didn't see it yet
Man this dude is so smooth. I think he has the highest super star potential. Minnesota better take this guy.
Back here when wolves swept KD and the Suns in the first round. Man they drafted a MJ 2.0 who can shoot 3s.
This aged well
he’s him
Didn't they say this about almost every other #1 pick before
That block at 3:35 was nasty
No one will ever catch Michael but this dude will get the closest watch this space he is very special
Best player in the draft.
Bruce Gelin Maybe, but he doesn’t have the most potential. He has a high floor tho.
That_Canuck_God Edwards is the safest bet that he will be a star over everybody in the draft. Just because other players have a “higher ceiling” doesn’t mean u take them first. It brings me back to last year like saying Ayton and Bagley should go first because they have the highest ceiling over Luka🤷♂️
KAT, DLO, and Anthony Edwards 🔥🤩
@@shadowsinger3183 Edwards would be the best scenario
DLo will love this guy
Move RJ to the 3 & draft Edwards Knicks!
Fr, he is so much better of a scorer/shooter than Lamelo it's not even funny
wait i thought rj was a 3?
is it because the knicks have like 5 pfs that the slot for his natural position is taken
welp i didnt watch that much games of the knicks though
@@nicmagtaan1132 no he's simply a guard
Let’s put him in a good situation, not F up his career with Knicks.
nic magtaan def a 3 bro .. but idk lol everyone $mall ball now
Anthony Edwards is the best player in this year's draft. Minnesota Timberwolves better get him.
Thank the Lord we did
Dynamic backcourt duo with DLo
He's the truth
Better scorer>Edwards
Most talented player>Ball
Seems like a trae vs Luka debate again
I hope he goes to the Hawks him Trae and John Collins. 👀
Don’t forget Capela🙈 it’s gonna be lob city with all that penetration by Edwards and Trae.
FJO 9 oh yeah! No doubt
Kinda a bad fit in Atlanta because Trae usage is so huge because he's so bad off ball. I like Ant Man on a team that needs a wing but also can dominate the ball a lot. The Hawks could use a player like Deni or Haliburton way better with Trae.
Yay the most overrated lineup of all time on it’s way to win 25 games the next 4 years. That sounds lit
EJOne that’s the point his usage doesn’t need to be that high
@4:04 Victor was the Number 2 Pick not Number 1 pick
#1 draft pick !
He will ripen so well in the NBA, but I think letting him sit on the bench as a rookie would develop him into a better player, because It would make him think twice when taking a shot.
Reminds me of Dion Waiters. Take it however. 🤷🏽♂️
If he develops a consistent jumper along with a 3 point shot then he’s a all star
And commit to the defensive end
Like the way Smitz said Donovan MITCHELL uses violent crossovers lol.
One of the best finishers in college basketball. Look forward to seeing him in the league.
Do one for lamelo BBBall😌
There is one already
What do you think of Edward's odds of being successful being coached in a strict offense. Is he destined to do better with his second coach than with his draft team?
4:26 pause
Trae and Edwards are gonna be the new splash bro’s of the 2020s
I love Joe Brady you mean d lo Kay and ant man the splash trio
He’s nba ready.
Which team needs him the most? Or where would you like him to get drafted?
I hope the Pistons gets him..
Pistons, Magic, Spurs... every teams that needs a scorer desperately
wolves hes perfect next to dlo/kat
I hope the warriors get him
Knicks
Can't see the pistons passing on him. I have him 3rd on my board but needs the right fit.
He’s got warriors written all over him..
PG: Curry
SG: Edwards
SF: Thompson
PF: Draymond
C: Drummond (Wiggins, Timberwolves & Warriors first round pick).
🙌🏼 we can all hope..
What u a warriors fan?
I’m a Phoenix Suns fan
Truthfully the Warriors never needed a dominant center in their Finals runs. They got by with past prime Andrew Bogut, Festus Ezeli, Zaza Pachulia, JaVale McGee, and Kevon Looney.
And these guys weren’t playing crunch time minutes.
Andre Xavier tbh I would rather see them draft Wiseman
i don't want Drummond, i wanna see if the dubs can get the big KAT
Don’t sleep on Cole Anthony as well.. he was playing hurt all year. Him and Anthony Edwards would be beat players in the draft
NO
Jay T I’m sleeping on Cole Anthony 😴
I’m snoring and out cold on Cole, somebody wake me up NyQuil got me.
No no they wouldn’t stop trying to shove cole in the conversation he played better hurt than healthy 😂
I have the fan on
Minnesota already have Malik Beasley makes no sense if they draft Edwards because they both have similar game
exactly. I really think the wolves should explore trade for a package of both their first round picks and a couple players
Beasley is hella efficient as a catch and shoot guy, he doesn't go off the dribble. Their playstyles aren't similar at all. Beasley is a high volume scorer but the Wolves need a shot creator besides DLo or on the bench.
My favorite player
I like his size and strength at the position but those shooting percentages worry me
Yah very worrying
@@danilthorstensson8902 🤣 now he's killing it lool, I didn't doubt it for a second
What's that lil beat in the beginning
This guy gonna be a god
This is my first time seeing this guys highlights but what I do know I have his Opal card on 2k20 and he’s a beast! So if he’s as good as his card he to will be a beast!
Luke Wise I actually do hoop bruh. Just only watch NBA. Don’t keep up with NCAA.
im all set ..lol he said dion waiters haha i cant unhear that dont drive him #1
Can the NBA just start a loan system? Where teams can loan out their young players so they gain experience on certain teams
I think the G league is going that direction
Comparing him to victor or Donovan is perfect comparison in my eyes.!
ESPN get your audio quality in check
Go Dawgs!!
Wow. Kid is goooooood
That title is over exaggerated to the max!!!
He shoots like 20% from the field lmao what are you talking about
52%TS. Not bad actually.
He’s good, but in my opinion James Wiseman is my best pick when i went to a Memphis game Anthony Edwards only scored ten points
YOUR A SOCCER PLAYER YOU DO KNOW THIS IS A TEAM SPORT
@@rodneyrucker2508 "Football" is much more of a team sport than basketball because there is 22 players on the field at a time not 10
I'm really really glad that we drafted Anthony Edwards and not James Wiseman
OFF THE BENCH WITH THE WARRIORS!!
welcome to minnesota man)
Yeah I need Edwards on the cavs with porter and sexton we be nice in 2 years
his game similar to porter 💪
Too bad he going to the warriors
soo....is he minnesota's #1 pick? or Booker for a trade package including their #1 pick?
Definitely has mad game, but is he ready to face the NBA talent especially the elite players? Let's be wait for the season to start and see!
Stanley Johnson or Jaylen Brown?
I think he will be better than those two
Stephen Cussy hopefully because Stanley Johnson was supposed to be a Star and Jaylen Brown is still getting better
Good God please don’t let this man fall to the warriors... just imagine him & Klay on each wing with KAT at the 5 & Wiggins playing a power 4 position & Steph running point...
This nba draft is gonna be all about fit so I’m a big advocate for him to be drafted to Detroit 🙌🏿🙌🏿
Or we'll take Wiseman , anybody but lamelo
@MEME_Review Pewdz 37 %fg , 25% from 3 , 72% ft, all overseas.. imagine what it will be like in da nba, we don't want him
Welcome to Dub Nation!,
Are you talking to Wiseman?
Few years later, he is better than oladipo ever was, as good as prime Donovan Mitchell, and on his way to being as good as harden. Oh, and he is an insanely good defensive guard.
You’ll get less drama out of him then the other two top picks in Wiseman and ball
Drama? Did u c drama in Lonzo???
TheCubeAddict not with Lonzo but his dad plus LaMelo quit high school ball couldn’t get along with the coach.
Brent Hall no HIS DAD couldn’t get along with his coach 😂
AlphaDwg OK what was the problem with the first European team he played with?
TheCubeAddict bro you can’t even talk your literally addicted to cubes lmao
Anthony Edwards for Minnesota!
He's our new J. R. Rider! Exact same height, weight and athleticism.
Scoring beast on 2K (from a download draft)
Special!!!!!!
He going to the Warriors
He needs dwane casey and dwane Casey needs him
First NBA pay check and he will be motivated.
I see a right handed harden with maybe slightly more athleticism, but not as good as a shooter.. harden developed his handle to what it is and I believe Edwards can do that also.. hopefully Minnesota pick him #1 but couldn’t blame them for getting Lamelo as well
He is a smaller Kyle Kuzma is whole game is exactly the same especially his biggest weakness is the ability to make plays for others
Next up!
Wolves need to forget about Booker and just draft this kid!! Future star written all over him!!
Best player in the draft easily, best scorer, highest ceiling and had potential to be a great defender. Stop hyping up melo
Facts
@Luke Wise I'm not saying lamelo isn't a good player I just think ant I'd better and a his game will translate a lot better to the league then lamelo
in my opinion melo is the most talented in the draft but edwards is the most complete player and safest as well in the draft.
@@tandylemon3232 lamelo has alot to prove i think he'll be pretty good he has a natural feel
He shot 29 percent from 3, can’t defend, and has a tendency to chuck. This man is JR Smith.
Maybe I heard wrong but did he say Vitor Oladipo was drafted number 1 I bet Dan Gilbert wished he was I know that’s who he wanted not Anthony Bennett
Put him with a good point guard he will be great
U mean dlo?
Ok so a Victor Oladipo/ Mitch Richmond type. He could be a threat long term. Could land 1st.
Title of the video should have been "How Anthony Edwards could become the next Andrew Wiggins"
Lamelo ball going #1 don't @me
Lamelo got a higher ceiling but Edward's has a higher floor depends on what you need
ATX Kicks Anthony Edwards is not efficient especially in the ncaa
ATX Kicks he’s also a bad playmaker
@@blocblackboyblack9226 so is lamelo shooting 25% from 3 off the dribble.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Reminds me of dwade
Hawks definitely need him
6'6 230 i take that over Ball all day!
Edwards, Booker back court 😤
He’s mike
1. Anthony Edwards
2. Lamelo ball
3. James wiseman
Switch 2 and 3
Harden 2.0 with defence
my god espn fix your mic
Dion Waiters is a perfect comparison. I see a lot of Harden comparisons but he was efficient both shooting and off the dribble at AZ state, something Edwards is not. It’s very hard to coach chucking the ball out of a player so his upside is being someone who can score off the bench. Also, he can’t defend, at all for his size which is going to set him back even further from other players in the draft. Both Ball and Okoro are better picks and provide higher upside than Edwards.
This aged well
