Great seeing those V-Stroms in the mud. Having the confidence to nail it when needed really helps. This video definitely proves it's not the bike or tyres but the rider!
This is wild! I have a 650 Vstrom and was thinking about putting some knobby tires on it and trying to go on dirt trails. This guy with stock tires is good.
Thrown mine around offroad a few times here in the UK, I even managed to get it round an enduro course once (although I soon got tired, and the other riders on much lighter machines soon got tired of waiting for me to pick it up too...7 times 😅) They're great bikes, I love mine. Pretty much bulletproof for reliability too. Your mate has SkillZ! Cheers 🤟😉
Man im so close to trading my strom 650 for a trail bike. Coz a newbie adv rider like me ( pardon my ignorance) would think that you need a trail bike to tackle tracks like these. I was proven sooooo WRONG in this video, and thank you for posting this..🙏🙏 Now I gotta go out and practice
What a vid man! I just picked up what looks like a spitting image of that bike. 2011 vstrom and after watching this ,I’m in trouble. Good fun awesome trouble.
Beautiful bit of riding, subscribed! All I could think was eventually, he was going to buy it in the mud ruts diving in and out like that. More speed, bigger bike, bigger crunch when the unexpected happens. Glad you all came through ok.
Not bad, not bad at all. My only critical observation is that the terrain is flat. No rocks, logs, heavy ruts etc. What I want to find is videos like that one from Greece. I still can't decide if there was some CGI in that one.
Hahaha, CGI not required. It does “look” flat, the wide angle action cameras and high mounting angle smooths the terrain in the image. Working on budget creative solutions to that.
Just discovered your channel, glad to see other NS hosers with bikes on trails. May have to make a trip to CB with my RnineT! I don't have any videos offroad of it yet, but it's still got the OE suspension (garbage!) and tires from factory. At 500lbs, it's both a handful and an absolute riot
If you take that bike off-road up in the highlands I'll definitely need video proof 😂😂😂 We're located in the Annapolis Valley if you want to get together and smash the RnineT up! ;P
Great video footage of incredible off road riding. Look forward to more of your channel. I’ve got a Vstrom 650xt and am learning how to ride off road. How he can handle that mud on the stock 80/20 tires I don’t know. What was his tire pressure at I wish I knew
Nice, I'm sold on the V-Strom! ... I was recently in a Tsunami Alert in Half Moon Bay, CA because of the earthquake in Northern California off the coast! So all us chumps jumped in our cars and headed for the 92 to get over the mountain ... and guess what ... total grid lock trying to get on the 92 from Hwy 1! ... if there had of been a real Tsunami we'd all be toast! ... however the smartest kids in town all raced off on motorbikes, I guess they'll all be saved in a real Tsunami situation, luckily the Tsunami proved to be a false alarm and was a non-event, phew! ...So that got me thinking, need to get a motorbike, not just any one, but one capable of some off road action, in case the highways get jammed up, which is quite likely in a natural disaster. Anyhow thank you for the V-Strom video, I'm off to buy one of these bad-boys now!
V-stroms are great off road bikes. They can handle pretty much anything you throw at them. We put our to the test fully loaded with gear. We both still run stock cast wheels and ride through tons of rocky creek crossings and haven't had a problem yet. O yeah Motoz tires are the only way to go 😁
I don't know if you're reading comments on old videos, but I am so stuck between this bike or a KLR 650 and I have no idea what to pick. I'm about 200 mi from where I ride and I'm tired of trailering my 250. I don't really ride anything rougher than this
It all depends on what your focus is, both are great reliable machines that will do on road and off-road. If you have a road bias grab the vstrom, if you have an off-road bias grab a KLR650 IMHO. Hope this helps! Happy Hunting. 🙏
I'm really wanting to get into adventure riding. The V Strom seems like it fits my bill. A lot of folks on the internet say that it's not made for off road though. The 800 DE seems like it's a good fit. What sort of mods do you have on your Strome?
ua-cam.com/video/vv1dYbPnhcY/v-deo.htmlsi=lIjSoInLemroFWRe&t=272 Don't listen to all the KTM and BMW fanboys online ;) haha. Is it made for off-road? No. Will it perform admirably off-road? Yes.
I have a 2012 650 and manufacturers will always be conservative with off road estimations. Thank the lawyers for that. I have little time on two wheels off road, but now I'm confident at least of the bike. It will mean many drops off road as long as you have the side boxes off. I slipped on a water crossing and when I put my foot down the forward motion of the bike caught my foot under the side box and broke my leg. Tough lesson learned, but be aware.
The internet always finds something right? Haha. I remember back in 2017 reading on the ADVrider forums that it wasn’t suitable for off-road because it has a 19inch front wheel 🤭😜
Hahaha, so an ego thing 😂😂😂 Wheelie only when necessary on the V-Strom. Unfortunately you can starve your front cylinder of oil doing it unnecessarily :( The complete truth is that I also lack the ability to wheelie on demand off-road 😂😂😂😂😂
Hell yeah! Nice work by both of you. I hope to one day be half as good as that.
I get a huge smile every time I see your intro video. So good.

20% Bike, 80% Rider. Get after it my friend, you can do it too! 💪👍🤜
@scottloftin1730 My hang up is that I bought it new in 2016 and there isn't a scratch on it yet... but I think it is time it got a little dirty.
@SalsaBro the first scratch is the Hardest!!! Every one after that gets easier ;)
I cannot recommend airing down tires on a 500lb + adventure bike 😱
I’m riding a gen 2 with Kenda big blocks. This dude would leave me in the dust!
This is still so dang awesomeness every time I go back and watch it!
What an excellent ride! Your friend really knows how to handle the Strom. I wish I could ride like that someday.
Thrown mine around offroad a few times here in the UK, I even managed to get it round an enduro course once (although I soon got tired, and the other riders on much lighter machines soon got tired of waiting for me to pick it up too...7 times 😅)

Was this all CGI? Cause every Motojournalist ever says you can't take a V-Strom off road. Very cool footage and a great video. Stay muddy my friends!
Ryan from Fortnine off-roaded his V-strom 1000 a ton.
Hello from the friends in New York! Great to see great riders on what others may consider "inappropriate bikes" :D
Im impressed.
Way better rider than I will ever be, but a way better bike off road then I ever expected.

This is why I make UA-cam videos right here! Safe riding my friend💪👊
Just get Dunlop 606
Point made! Glad I started my V-Strom reviews here. Great commentary 🙂Thank you both! 👍Earned a sub 🍺🍺
Welcome aboard!

Wow! Inspirational! I've not been able to find anything like that around here, but I WILL!
SUBSCRIBED!
Very humbling video that makes me eat my words. No more blame on the tires. I need to build my skills. Thanks.

Fantastic Drive!!! 👍👍👍. I got a VStrom 650 (2007) and I think it's hard for me.. But that guy is a magic man!☺️👍

who was that masked man - A Natural for sure - I started to cheer for him - that was a lot of fun to watch -
We need more v-strom content
You two guys absolutely rip
I need a adv bike bad
It's coming buddy!
love this run into gaspereau lake and across the power lines..so fun!

I take my Vstrom almost anywhere I take my DRZ. It’s a torquey sled of a beast. Very well balanced.
Jesus that guy can ride! well impressed would like to see how fast he'd go on the modded Strom amazing skills....great video guys
thank you , I will not be doing his on my V, he didn't even have the XT wheels, great video
He has natural ability and a fantastic sense of balance 👏
Wow! Hard riding off road on adventure bikes, I've never seen that before, I did not think it was even possible.
excellent riding skills on the vstrom...
Thanks ✌️
Awesome brother...enjoy them

As far as “Reasons to Buy a Vstrom” go, that’s probably the best I’ve ever heard! 😂
What a legend what a ride! Skilzzzz!
Like a Boss!

@@RaggedRoadsMoto heck yeah!
Well that's probably more off roading than I'll ever do. I'll be happy with my Strom and quit dreaming about a T7.
Que piloto mas berraco!
that guy sure can ride.

I have Shinko 705s , I def need to upgrade to knobbys
I'm running Shinko 804/805 on my Wee..like them, are a bit noisy though..
Have you ever considered to come do the "La Classique" ride from Ride Aventure in QC?
I could certainly be convinced haha
AWESOME
nice skill
More of that 2nd gen please
Absolute gangster
Imagine that vstrom with D606 :)
wild
Those trails look sick. What state are you riding in?
Nova Scotia, Canada ;)
@@RaggedRoadsMoto I saw that in your other videos. Looks like beautiful country out that way!
That dude can ride lol

What pegs are you guys using?
Colin is rocking the SW-motech pegs, Caleb is rocking the eBay special ;)
Why didn’t you pop a wheelie?!?!?
In order to answer your question you'll have to put it in the context in which you would like it answered :)

Now try it on a Harley Sportster 😉
But WHY?! 🤣🤦♂️🫣
@@RaggedRoadsMoto comic relief!? Lol
