Have always liked watching Ahsan, Setiawan. More skillful and Coordinated and both cover for each other. Cool towards each other as well. Can't say the same for Kevin Gideon partnership. Gideon has always been technically stunted (Indonesians are known for skills/ technique), while Kevin doesn't have good attitude towards partner. Together they are running around the court aimlessly.
Kevin's attitude is ruining the partnership, he is not gonna make it even partner with anyone else. Only Marcus can endure his arrogance.

Marcus has turns 32, his body signals forfeit. he indeed do his best, kevin needs a new young partner. but Marcus did his best through smashes, kevin needs to amend his attitudes, he just wants to score through cheapshots and unwillingly do jump smashes. overall, this signals the end for this once great pairs.
It’s not that kevin unwillingly jump smash. It’s that we all know his smash is not strong and even can be dangerous when returned

lucky I wasn't watching this game Live, otherwise it would be just so annoying, they both loose their fighting spirits, I am not sire what is going on behind the scenes, some people say, they doesn't have more chemistry, they are need to be split up, they need partner who can compliment each other again.
if I were Gideon, I will be like him as my partner always had a bad face like that. Look at 17.00 Kevin's action. The why-dont-you-do-this attitude has been tearing this pair apart for years.

yep... this might mark an exit for Kevin/Marcus as a pair. They're no longer in the prime that they were several years ago and a lot of pairs now have stronger defense to challenge the minions. Problem is I don't know who they can play with if they split... Kevin needs a strong partner like Marcus to cover for him when he goes hunting for the bird. He needs someone to serve as a solid foundation so he can do his thing. And Marcus, even with his strong smash, isn't a threat on his own. They had a good run.
I agree, you're right. Kevin seems to be very unsure of himself, especially in the front, where he was such a menace. He doens't take the initiative, or atleast rarely. Both of their defense has gotten significantly worse and since Marcus is way slower than before, he can't cover up for Kevin's loose shots. And, as you said, Marcus' smash is jut not strong enough, it never really was in my opinion. Unforced errors happen more often and Kevin doesn't really look motivated, does he? He looks bored and Marcus, thus, gets salty after a while too. A shame, but I guess their run is truly over.
@@vinceee6394 yeah it's very rare back then to see Kevin express disappointment when Marcus miss. But these days it's basically every time Marcus miss, Kevin is making a face. Marcus is already very hard on himself even when they were dominating. He constantly put pressure on himself during the game. Now with Kevin adding to that, I don't think it's a healthy partnership anymore, especially for Marcus
