What’s average labor cost hours to replace 2014 jeep grand Cherokee 3.6 Dealer is telling me I have 2 dead cylinders but can’t tell me what caused it. I was thinking maybe timing was off or chain broke but they didn’t tell me anything.
I was wondering why you unbolted half of the truck. You're dropping it with transmission. How long does it take to do the swap. By the book says 40hrs. Makes no sense to pay so much for install on my 2016 truck.
It’s hands down the easiest way to do them. I have taken one out of the top and it sucked. The Jeeps are really tight. When I look up labor rate to do a long block on one that is AWD it calls for 23 hours.
I have seen people do it. It’s just really tight. If you take the intake off it gives you more room. The bell housing bolts and starter are a pain though. Also it’s really hard to get the oil pan past the front differential. I hope that helps. All of forms say to drop it out the bottom.

Yeah it’s some work to change them. They really aren’t that bad if you have a lift.
