+DoubleO88 Your theory about a lead-mask for Batman would only make sense if he knew Superman can't see through it, but he can't know that already having just discovered Superman exists, so that's not the case, its the film makers going for more dramatic effect instead of sticking to the comics, which Superman would just see through the mask. So they take liberties with this stuff, and some of it has been for the worst.
