- The deceiver is one of the most versatile flies you can tie or put in your fly box. If the fish you are targeting eats other fish then you need to have deceivers in your box. They can be sized up or down using the basic techniques in this video. Get creative with colors and you can match any baitfish.

Well done
Good video. I'm looking to learn about tying teasers for fluke fishing in MA RI. The pattern looks good but no one seems to tie using 6/0 or larger hooks so I'm left without a good visual and without a source reference. I use 6/0 - 8/0 octoups, offset, wide gap hooks for bait fishing. I'm looking to tie a teaser which uses a hook that allows for a piece of bait to be added. Can you help me out?
Great video!👍 Which vice your using?

no eye added?
Great question, the quick answer is it's up to the tyer. The longer potentially more contentious answer is that this fly was tied for striped bass and striped bass and other bass species don't seem to care about the eye as much as they do profile and movement. Get a room full of saltwater fly anglers and ask this question and you'll find yourself with an entertaining conversation!

WTF IS MA RI? TRY USING WORDS😢
That is the abbreviation for massachusetts and rhode island
@@SaltwaterEdge Ah the Untied States of Achronims. They simplified English in the early 1900s for the Rednecks and Hillbillies and you lot are still trying to make words 100 years later .
