- Pablo van de Poel of DeWolff shares his love for fuzz and vintage effects of all kinds, explaining how he achieves a rich variety of tones from warm cleans to scuzzy Hendrix-esque fuzz and vintage auto-wah. Showing us the settings, sounds and signal chain tricks he uses to sound immense on stage, no fan of vintage rock will want to miss this.
Great interview! I love that you don’t interrupt, you just let him take his time answering the question. A rare skill!
DeWolff are so great their music made me cry when they played in Cologne last year. Best show I´ve seen for a long time.
Yeah! Pablo and DeWolff is absolutely epic rock band. I have gone to every concert I can reach for years many now.
This guy is a great player with great tones. More power to him
Fuzz is so expressive and such a rabbit hole
Yeah. Lets talk about tube screamers xD
Excellent, what a great devotion to fuzz he has, plus that Fulltone tube echo is a thing of beauty.
First saw Dewolff last year supporting Jared James Nichols. They are phenomenal musicians with excellent showmanship. Saw them in Nottingham this month on their headline tour. If you get the chance definitely see them live.
I once was a stage hand for these guys, and they're such lovely fellows! Really kind people. I noticed Pablo left behind a pick on stage after the show, and i'll admit i definetly took that with me as a souvenir 😊
Very good player. Saw DeWolff live last year - impressive band. Fun too.
This is cool as hell, much like DeWolff. Caught them live opening for The Black Crowes and I’ve been a massive fan ever since.
Cant wait to see them again, they’re the real deal!
DeWolff great band not just for Pablo but for the great keyboardist as well.
I saw these guys in 2011: great show the crowd got absolutely crazy.
Badass Firebird btw 👌🏻
Never heard of them, but I now will. Thanks for sharing, reminded again of some great tips regarding using guitar controls. Also really enjoyed his playing style!
Killer tones, Pablo is a killer player and DeWolff are an amazing band. Check them out when you can!
I saw DeWolff in Spain last week …
Just a fantastic band
Thanks a lot, i was really curious to see what his current pedalboard looks like. Both Pablo and DeWolff are amazing.
Excellent guitarist with an exquisite taste in gear
Awesome player and a great band!
Very underrated band and very nice guys
Phenomenal guitarist and tones
Beautiful guitar
Awesome video 👍👏🎸🔥
Lol. Dude uses a Plexi as a boost. The Marshall 1974X is really underrated. It's a fantastic gigging amp with a great sound. And make no mistake. It might be 18W but it's loud as hell.
THIS IS THE TONE WHEN I SAY I WANT THAT TONE
Anyway, gast, you rock.
Untill we meet again mate!!
Groet,
Peter
Fantastic! 🎉
Oh Yes ✌️😎,
So much Vibe
🎶All you need is fuzz, …fuzz is all you need 🎶
Surprised,Pablo doesn't have an Ampeg Sub Blaster(reissue or a clone of it) on his board. When you love Hendrix feel, this piece is the one to have.
Interesting, can the boss ds1 be used for a similar purpose?
Holy Firebird batman
Like and comment just for the thumbnail
Congrats :)
Yes!
If that's what I think it is, that's an ULTRA rare - Firebird!!!!
Does anyone know which pedal loop switcher he uses on his board?
American Loopers
:30 he turns up the lean back!
A 1973 NYC pimp.
They won’t even sell you those boots unless you’re actually cool.
Sendra Boots, spanish excellence right there 👌🏻
What pickups?
Vintage fuzz tones are the simplest to get
Judging by the toes on his boots , he has a shocking toe dragging problem , so if he wants to get some decent boots , get them custom made in El Paso, Texas, cowboy boot capitol of the world !!!
Fairies wear boots… you gotta believe me
Looks like try hard all the way but what a cool guy and great vintage sound
you got to have some serious balls to switch to a preamp + DI distortion sound live, mid show
It's all in the fingers............oh wait....
This guy is crazy. His pedalboard is really a mess 😅
