I grew up in STL, cost of living is great and there’s a lot of awesome neighborhoods. Also, a lot of random things to do in different parts of town
So true! I am from STL but go to school on the east coast. And I still don’t understand why everything cost money! They need some Forest Park/ Muny free vibes!

Her home is precious. Love how she decorated everything! I really respect that she didn’t paint the trim on the windows/doors. Really keeps the 1930 integrity of the house but it look so fresh with the colorful walls.

Wow that’s a lot. I’m in stl in south city too. My home is 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath with 3 floors. I paid $90,000. 1700 sq feet.
Victoria is only showing the 1,300 sq ft. apartment upstairs. Same size apartment downstairs is not shown. 2600 sq ft home with two bed, two bath, 10 rooms.
When you have a duplex, the second half of your duplex pays for the mortgage. So, if she put down 18K, she is living entirely rent free. On top of that, any repairs and improvements are 100% tax deductible. Need a plumber? You ain't paying for that!

Lots of great old homes in the St. Louis. I grew up in one of the oldest suburbs their in a 1903 house. Now I live in South County. For anyone who doesn't know the county and city have different governments.

Yes, the cost of living in St. Louis is pretty low. Our electric bill is ~$75 per month; our house is 1800 square feet.

My friend from grad school is a professor there. She seems to love it and the cheapness of life has allowed her dabble in house flipping and renovation. My bro lived there during Med School and hated it. Called it Misery.

@@shrishtisinha6692 no. Just the neighborhood she lives in is a bit more expensive. She could’ve gone a little down the street and gotten a better price but the neighborhood is very nice!
@@melz4644 To be fair Tower Grove South is a pretty big area, a lot of which is still being revitalized. I think the price is pretty standard for a 1 bed/1 bath especially for a historic condo that's a bit dated. It sounds like they don't own the whole duplex (though I could be wrong).
Maybe they own the whole house and rent part of it.
