MaxPax's stalk control reminds me of the game with the Google AI. Where the AI just kept pushing low hp/shield stalkers to the back of the conga line. So many of MaxPax's battles look like he's loosing horribly, and then you find out he lost 3 stalkers in 2 min fight!
I love the camera movement of Lowko so much. It looks human and he is controlling it, while others use the observers POV. The others camera movement doesn't look linked to what they are commentating. (Other casters)
It took me about a year of Lowko to be able to follow what people like Harstem or Thermy are doing. It's so quick in first person PoV that it is definitely hard to follow, but when you can, it's rewarding in its own way.
MaxPax is serrals off race and when he encounters himself he has another good player that jumps in and they switch accounts so games go longer and it isn't so obvious.
Such a great match-up! Love seeing Serral's oppressive swarm tactics! Love your stuff Lowko! - oh and also... the 'finger skateboard' thing wasn't just in the Netherlands, in Australia (where I'm from) they were called 'tech decks', pure 90's nostalgia with you mentioning them hahaha!
i love Lowko saying that the archetype of the " new player who et good result bye cheesing" isn't MaxPax, that put me back in 2021 when every MaxPax game was cheese after cheese. It realy does feel like he is a completly different player now. And yet he's game are still so entertaining
29:49 I've never thought about this until now, but I think I've spent more hours watching sc2 matches on UA-cam than I have actually playing the game at this point. Sc2 and Tekken are my favorite esports to watch
It's nice to see that, so many years into the game's lifetime, people are still naming maneuvers after players. We had Maynarding back in the day, and now we have the Erik.
@Lowko, Can you cast the Scarlet vs Astrea matches from the NA tournament? It was a little one side, but just watching the odd builds, great micro, and willingness to just go for it; was great to see in a series. (The hatch deny is one of the more innovative things I have seen)
It always crazy to scroll down on your vids and see the 2010 in the SC banner. Can't believe many of us have been playing that long. Glad you're still here doing what you do.
I never really played Starcraft 2 i tried it sometime and was trash. But startet watching lowkos channel and i really enjoy watching pro games.. i dont understand all but i know how hard the game is so i enjoy 😁
haha! that game 4 was an excellent!, the mind games. I love MaxPax, he's my favorite protoss. wasn't MaxPax known as a cheeser with the 'MaxPax build', when he was still relatively unknown? Also, when MaxPax *eventually* shows his face in a offline tournament, I expect you to talk about it Lowko!
What really still sets Serral apart from other zerg players is his scouting. He just knows all timings so incredibly well that he can make sure that there is always a zergling or overlord at exactly the right time at the right place.
The finger skateboards were called tech decks. When I was in middle school they were very popular. Also I remember in that library there was a computer that ran off of floppy disks hahaha. Not the small one's either.
I was waiting for a lowko vid to be up before my break, and I was asking myself what was taking so long, the duration answers that question, ty for vid :)
1:04:03 have a prism to snatch them back when they get vipered, outmicro the zerg, have a handful of them so you can lose a few if need be, deploy one or two with shield batteries, and to ensure they don't move, if really fast you can snatch drop hotgroup key, sntch drop and colossus if double warp distance from those over extending vipers ^^ worst case you lose a warp, better than a collos
it's sad to hear views have been on a downward trend, I just recently started watching a ton of SC2 again love your vids man, thank you for being one of the few remaining casters
i want more nursery charms from lowko, specially with a healthy macro game for a zerg; hearing him singing while the zerg casually sends units there and there and everywhere and play with the map control like they're the game and they have control of everything, they look and feel so dominant and like they're playing with their food!
😎Love your videos Lowko! I haven't been getting any of your videos in my feed like I used to - in response to your question around 55:00 - they just now started popping up again this week.
As to your comment at around 30:00min: I don´t even play Starcraft 2 (I only finished the campaigns on normal) and i love watching your casts - i learned a lot and i find it quite entertaining!
I just got into sc2 a couple of weeks ago after a decade of history with dota 2 and I must say it's a breath of fresh air, also no toxicity in 1v1 sc2. I like watching videos, learning and having fun with the game. So don't worry lowko, a good game will attract players despite it's age.
I don't think Lowko knows what Maxi Pads are, or he would have stopped saying that nickname a LONG time ago. I actually feel bad for MaxPax that Lowko just has no idea lol...
Lowko I figured out why the creep tumor had a 1 on it. _It's an ability stack._ Each creep tumor can only spawn one more creep tumor, they each have one stack for their creep spreading ability.
Days since we last heard the LOWKO intro:1 The high was still there the day was good and everything was shining but in the distance u could feel a dark omen lurking about
Just to let you know, I played some SC2 when it launched but never got into it. YT reccomended me some of your videos and I found it fun to watch these pro matches even tho I don't know what half of the units do. So I guess there is atleast 1 new person watching :p
OK this series doesn't prove $#^%. It's obvious Max is Serral off racing. Serral played both zerg and protoss in this series. Zerg just won cuz he used his right hand for Zerg and left for Toss.
@LowkoTV, don't worry about the viewer count. It's going down because a fantastic summer is approaching and people want to enjoy the sun! Great video, great content, as always! See you in Jönköping perhaps!
Lowko, love your videos and I watch to the end. Just if they're long I watch the last part another day. It's a treat to see either of these players battling it out with your commentary. No idea what a finger skateboard is, but it's okay. Serral once again too good, but MaxPax will improve with more experience of grand finals and I really liked him denying creep and macroing against Serral.
Lowko... the Finger Skateboards are called Teck-Decks... and YES they are still a thing... and in fact, no joke, there are a handful of locations (in the USA) where Teck-Deck nerds can go and "skate" dozens of miniature versions of real life skate parks... not gonna lie it's actually pretty cool, well at least the mini replica irl parks as some have some damn good detail and are spot on to their irl counterparts...
Since Serral's disappointing IEM run, he went on beast mode and lost only two series since then. This is like when he lost a lot to cheese before IEM 2022, and went beast mode there. Too bad really for his IEM 2023 performance.
as far as I know, the only series lost that come to mind were against maxpax himself , including a Bo3 Kungfu cup. Might have been one to clem not sure.
This video we get to experience three things: a high level Starcraft 2 match between two of the best players ever, Lowko rambling incoherently about finger skateboards compared to dancing while unsure anyone knows what he's talking about, and Lowko putting himself into laughing fits just by saying "second fourth base."
Gotta say that was probably the best pronounciation of Jönköping I've heard from someone who's not Swedish, nor speaks Swedish. Or well. A word similar to Jönköping. Not exactly a massive city so it's not really mentioned all that often lol.. EDIT: Man for some of those games, Serral looked almost a bit.. clunky? Which is a compliment to MaxPax. Still. Watching Serral play is always insane.
Startet watching SC2 Games in 2024, because i stumbled upon a video of you, now im watching them the whole time on the treadmill in the gym. I saw this Video and at minute 50 or so you say:"hey maybe like the video", so i went home logged into my youtube account and did so =D
I was a new player last year. Also probably the oldest at mid 30’s. Started watching Lowko casts, learnt Zerg from Pig, and now I play Toss which I picked up from… the Harstem.
I knew it wouldn't be close, but it feels much more fair than terran. even serral needs to macro and control the army instead of just spamming mules and EMP
I know you probably know this Lowko but the saying all road lead to Rome is from the ancient time. Romans the road makers as they were called made their roads to supply their troops and commerce. So in a sense of you start from the end of a road and continue walking eventually it will take you to Rome.
I'm not that bothered by you skipping the first minutes of the matches but I do prefer you not doing it. Also seeing the length of the video made me so happy, 1½ hours of Serral vs MaxPax is just awesome! Thanks Lowko! Btw, about different E-sports, I've never actually played SC2 (did play some casual Brood War though back when that was new) and it's definitely one of the better E-sports to watch. I do however suggest checking out some fighting games, the simple fact that it's just one screen and no camera control makes it so good for watching, It's like the opposite of CS where you need a whole team to manage which point of view to show. Btw3, I remember finger skateboards being a thing in Sweden as well
the 'all roads lead to Rome' saying is from back when the Roman Republic was a thing. France did the same thing with all roads leading to Paris and it cost them dearly during WW1, resulting in them building a lot of new roads between WW1 and 2. all roads going to one city makes control easy, but if you need to mobilize things from one part of your nation to another having them move through one city slows everything down, and that might be bad for you. the US was never about central control so we never had all roads going to any one city, same with Germany and nearly all other nations that were formed from smaller nations.
MaxPax's stalk control reminds me of the game with the Google AI. Where the AI just kept pushing low hp/shield stalkers to the back of the conga line. So many of MaxPax's battles look like he's loosing horribly, and then you find out he lost 3 stalkers in 2 min fight!
Maybe Max Pax is Alpha Star!
wrrr
Hey Lowko, I tried watching other StarCraft two streams, but I can’t they’re just not you. You do a great job. Thank you. I like your style.
I love the camera movement of Lowko so much. It looks human and he is controlling it, while others use the observers POV. The others camera movement doesn't look linked to what they are commentating. (Other casters)
Well said, you guys!
It took me about a year of Lowko to be able to follow what people like Harstem or Thermy are doing. It's so quick in first person PoV that it is definitely hard to follow, but when you can, it's rewarding in its own way.
Thermy harstem and lowko are our triforce of sc casters
@@direzz7444 apparently there is something in the dutch educational system that prepares good casters
Serral is so good, maxpax can be serral offrace and playing both sides at same time
I'm imagining him looking across 2 monitors, a mouse in each hand, and his feet pressing keys on 2 keyboards.
This is what I am thinking while watching the entire game. How can serral play by himself 😅😅😅
when serral steps into the bathtub, he doesnt become wet. the water becomes serral.
serral has countet to infinity, twice.
Baneling is good
MaxPax is serrals off race and when he encounters himself he has another good player that jumps in and they switch accounts so games go longer and it isn't so obvious.
The probe in 3rd game: I am not locked in here with you. YOU ARE LOCKED IN HERE WITH ME
Serral’s experience really shone through here. Just having so much practice with their level of micro at 25 minutes is such an advantage.
Where i am from (Brasil) too
Serrals ability to fish out those stasis wards is incredible. Fantastic game by MaxPax
unless he use other faction and his enemy use protos.
Pure skills seeing Serral play against himself.
The control from Serral in that last game was fantastic!
😢 Spoilers on the highlighted comment on mobile, i got unlucky
i love Lowko saying that the archetype of the " new player who et good result bye cheesing" isn't MaxPax, that put me back in 2021 when every MaxPax game was cheese after cheese. It realy does feel like he is a completly different player now. And yet he's game are still so entertaining
MaxPax is actually very impressive, this series was unironicly very close!
29:49 I've never thought about this until now, but I think I've spent more hours watching sc2 matches on UA-cam than I have actually playing the game at this point.
Sc2 and Tekken are my favorite esports to watch

Best caster of SC2 by far. Thanks!
Hey thanks!
Double condom protoss 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Lowko, Thanks for the videos. They're a great distraction from RL. Your happy, smiling personality comes through loud and clear. Excellent work!
It's 2023 and im a new blood to SC2. Love the game and even more your videos !

SC2 is the best esport to watch. Despite not playing for a long time, I still come back to watch.
haha! that game 4 was an excellent!, the mind games. I love MaxPax, he's my favorite protoss.
wasn't MaxPax known as a cheeser with the 'MaxPax build', when he was still relatively unknown?

What really still sets Serral apart from other zerg players is his scouting. He just knows all timings so incredibly well that he can make sure that there is always a zergling or overlord at exactly the right time at the right place.
In the US the brand for finger skateboards was TekDek and it was decently popular when I was a kid
Great series, I’m enjoyed your content for years. Keep it up.
As an American viewer, you remake of “all roads lead to Washington” did, in fact, put a smile on my face 😂
1:04:03 have a prism to snatch them back when they get vipered, outmicro the zerg, have a handful of them so you can lose a few if need be, deploy one or two with shield batteries, and to ensure they don't move, if really fast you can snatch drop hotgroup key, sntch drop and colossus if double warp distance from those over extending vipers ^^
worst case you lose a warp, better than a collos
In America we called them fingerboards and the main brand was "Tech Decks". They were only popular for a hot minute in the late 90's and early 2000's.
it's sad to hear views have been on a downward trend, I just recently started watching a ton of SC2 again
love your vids man, thank you for being one of the few remaining casters
Petition to nickname max the danish dynamite
Or if he's rollin' on someone, the Danish Dynamo. The Dangerous Danish. The Clutch Dutch. Deadly Danish. Danish Destroyer.
i want more nursery charms from lowko, specially with a healthy macro game for a zerg; hearing him singing while the zerg casually sends units there and there and everywhere and play with the map control like they're the game and they have control of everything, they look and feel so dominant and like they're playing with their food!
New starcraft fan here, stumbled over a game here on UA-cam and I'm hooked.
Serral's Dad an hour into the match "Have you won yet son?" ^_^
Lowko sounded almost wistful about that zergling being happy to die for the Swarm.
😎Love your videos Lowko! I haven't been getting any of your videos in my feed like I used to - in response to your question around 55:00 - they just now started popping up again this week.

Took me a week to watch it all but totally worth it! Thanks Lowko
45:50 he almost said Maxi-Pads -the uncontrollable giggle that followed made me laugh
I don't think Lowko knows what Maxi Pads are, or he would have stopped saying that nickname a LONG time ago.

They've got charges like a vulture's widow mines, except they each come with a single charge
@lowkotv so glad we have good quality casters to continue casting games in these later years of sc2
"MaxPax, the Danish Executor" sounds like an appropriate nickname. What you think?
Actually, Lowko, this series is a clear piece of evidence that Maxpax is Serral playing with his feet.
Thank you for the nice long video, i had a long bus ride ahead and this got me through about half of it 😊
Days since we last heard the LOWKO intro:1
The high was still there the day was good and everything was shining but in the distance u could feel a dark omen lurking about
What an amazing series from two of the very best!!!! Thanks lowko
This doesn’t prove that Serral is not Max. Serra was probably using his extra hands to play Max

First video I've watched on your channel. Fun commentary, man.
Serral v Clem also a banger, there's an Erik build, as you wanted
S-tier drinking challenge: take a drink whenever Lowko says "on the back of this" when he is casting a high-level match of Starcraft II
My humble suggestion for MaxPax's title: The Great Dane
Game 6, Serral's base dos attack (denial of service, not allowing additional bases to be build.)
It would be awesome to see some more brood war casts if that would be something you would be interested in
both fantastic players. Love watching them play.
Just what I need now. A long good game os Stracraft from Lowko. Sit back relax and enjoy
i started watching star craft 2 e-sport game play in 2022 i play the game since 2016-2017
I totally remember the finger skateboards. They were even a McDonalds Happy Meal toy at one point I think. Serious culture there.
its nice to see how far MaxPax has come from just being a cheeser to playing in the grand finals.
I love how much of this video you spent talking about TechDecks
I am a new watcher only been here for about 3 months but I usually watch before I fall asleep. You have revived my love of sc2. 😊
God just watching Serral slow bleeding Mac was just brutal. It must suck to be living through it.
@lowkotv, I've sooooo much fun watching your videos man! I really hope the viewers count increase exponentially!!!

The little skateboards are in the United States as well. "Tech Deck" was the main brand. I still see them to this day.
54:30, here I am still Lowko, what a banger series
We called them "fingerboards" in SoCal. I could ollie, grind random ways and sometimes a kickflip. That was the extent of my fingerboard abilities.
