- The Wf-1000XM3 are truly wireless earbuds from Sony. They feature one of the best noise canceling audio that I have experienced in the market as of now (in earbuds).
The audio performance on these little guys were spectacular. You wouldn't be disappointed in any type of genres that you guys will be listening to.
BUT, the left ear bud eventually wouldn't hold charge anymore.
The audio levels on the left earbud eventually got lower than the right
The case easily got scratched up
There were a lot of latency and re connectivity issues
I believe I had a defected item

my left earbud has dropped in equal volume to the right.
when these were new about a year ago they worked fine and this is the first issue I've had with them.
Ive tried everything possible to fix and nothing works...

Does anyone else experience audio cut outs when listening to audio? I've done everything the help support tells me to but nothing seems to be working. I just bought these and there's nothing i can do.

Yeah 100 percent, going for exchange or refund tomorrow. Cuts out on every device I've tested, reset countless times, unistalled app etc. Apart from this they are great.
Sorry to hear about your issue my friend. I have had the exact opposite issue that you have with the fitting. Many earbuds that I owned before kept falling out of my ears. The would happen especially when I'm talking, laughing or eating, which can be maddening. With these particular Sony buds, due to the big eartips they went in my ears and stayed in... I was so happy. For that fact alone I was happy with paying the $199 price tag ( I got them at Best Buy on sale since it's Christmas time) I do wish the noise cancelling could be better! I due understand that these are just earbuds and that will be limited in effect. I was also wondering if you were having this issue because you are using an older phone... Anyways I wish you the best of luck in finding a headset if this issue isn't resolved.

Looking for some help here. i recently purchased the 1000 XM3 however noted that the left earbud drains faster than Right one. The drop goes as
1. 100% both earbuds remaining
2. 50% both ear buds remaining
3. after 15-20 minutes, 20% left ear bud, 50% right ear bud remaining.
4. 20% both ear buds remaining, then shutdown.
Please help if this uneven drop in battery is okay or is my product defective.
Yepp! I have disconnect problems sometimes also. I think hearthrogh is weak also. Better on jabra 65. The sound is very good with music
I got mine as gift. My main issue is that it sometimes disconnects and also often when I'm in a call the connection is not stable and the voice I hear sounds robotic. It's like a bad telephone connection with someone.
I don't have the receipt but what are the chances I can get mine replaced. The anc on these guys are great.
I just got these 2 weeks ago, and I've noticed that I'm not getting that 6 hour battery life that Sony claims. In fairness, i have them paired with my TV, so could that be the culprit or are they defective?

Your right it's weird how these work just fine with my iPhone but when I connect them to my Samsung galaxy note 10 they cut in and out so much if you could tell me why
I got these headphones for Christmas. I returned them the very next day. I’ve never ever had such difficulty simply trying to pair to my phone. I was amazed that these headphones have a single good review. I’ve used AirPods, AirPods Pro and Raycons and literally all of them worked perfectly straight out of the box and consistently worked perfectly for the duration I had them. These were a total non starter. I never even ended up being able to pair them. Just wouldn’t work. Returned and am buying AirPod pros again. Those work at least.
I wish I watched this before I bought mine. I love them and still use them but same issue...
- disconnects often
- the right earbud is lower than the left
- had to factory reset 3x because it wouldnt connect to previously connect devices
- they fall out but for me not as often as you mentioned in your video
For me the right earbud was lower so when I connect to my phone or mac I have to go into the sound accessibility setting and move the bar from the middle (equal sound to L and R) to the right side. This somewhat fixes the issue, however this fix makes it so the overall volume cannot be as loud as it could be.
The balance on mine also seems to be slightly off...biased towards the right...I have them for a week today...I'll be taking them to the Sony service center for assessment and perhaps exchange for a new pair or refund...oh, and I also experience frequent disconnects...
it is very fitting , have been using this earbuds for a month too. but i do experience some cut off during play of music. the music is awesome. The music will cut off when your phone is on locked mode, when your phone is awake, it will play for hours. He is right in that area where music don play when the phone is locked mode. besides that, the music and sound , it is way out of these world.
did you resolve it? I just got a pair and is having some cut outs and is on windows and Android. Software updated. :/
Ever got that imbalanced feeling for the noise cancelling as well? I usually am in noise sensitive places especially at work (airport). So given the amount of noise cancelling really helped a lot.
But i noticed a few weeks ago that even with the right seal in your ears the white noise feels less on my left ear. Even so that when a car passes by on my right i usually hear the noise on my left.
Besides that i noticed how the highs on my right peaks at high volume levels compared to my left. I was thinking they could add an audio balance within the app like with samsung to offset it a little bit.
I hope they would have a solution for this
Maybe try a different tip for the earbuds?
Agree - mine had serious connection problems and gets progressively worse between devices like my iphone and my laptop. That description it had a "mind of its own" is 100% apt. It's almost like it prefers certain devices and doesn't like pairing with others, and changing pairing devices screws up my laptop's ability to pair with other devices which drives me completely mad.
I hear cracking sounds when the earbuds are connected with the MacBook Pro 15' at work... and this rarely happens with my Pixel 2. I also don't like the sound that the lid makes, it feels quite easy to break if opened quickly and with enough strength... Need to reconsider if I'll return these, even though I love the noise-cancelling and sound quality, maybe I'd be better off with sports earbuds or over-the-ear headphones.
UPDATE : It's been some months and the audio is perfect with the MacBook Pro at all times. My Pixel 2 rarely disconnects from the earbuds but it might be that the Mac steals the connection or just that Android's Bluetooth is not stable 😅. Anyway I'm very happy with the XM3s, I keep the noise cancelling always on and don't even think about configurations or pairing, everything works fine now that I got used to them.

Ohhhh the one earphone being louder than the other, I had the exact same issue and it really drived me insane, and then I realised one side just clogs up earwax easily, so a quick clean of the earphones made it sound like it was new again
Not so in my case.....
I use comply ear bud tips for my wf1000xm3 which are unreal by the way.
Read about ear wax build up....
I took the comply tips of only to see what looks to be black sponge inside the Sony earbud.
Also checked comply ear tip and it is clean as a whistle.
So a no go for me.
I wish it kinda was the fault...

The audio thing happened to me about a month ago and I’ve had them for almost a year and resetting them didn’t work
Just got these yesterday. Immediately had drop out issues while listening to music every few seconds. I did a reset with the earbuds in the charging case. Seemed to work for a day. Starting dropping out again, but not as bad. On firmware 2.3.0. This is also the firmware it shipped with.
I noticed it started dropping when downloading a file. Don't have this issue with any galaxy buds or the wh1000xm3.
One of my earbuds is completely broken, the light won’t come on and I’ve tried resetting it but it seems unresponsive. Also, not great for jogging, I feel like they are kind of too heavy causing them to fall out with a lot of movement
I have the same problem with Bluetooth connectivity. They will frequently disconnect when I record a voice message. They also disconnect while I listen to music too. I just contacted Sony, and I'm now in the process of replacing them yet again. However, I’m waiting on Sony to get back to me because I'm not sure they will replace them because I got them through Amazon.

NC in an earbud just makes them too damn big.
My WF 1000 xm3 got crackling sound don't know what is the reason and i've taken a very good care. Then i went to sony centre for repair under warranty and i guess they appointed a deaf guy. He said "it's perfect and have no reason to return". Later i bought airpods pro it might not sounds like sony but believe me i am super comfortable with airpods. Great sound and better noise cancellation, no connection issues, no one ear sound issues, no falling off issues, no bulky pocket.
From now on i am just gonna skip watching all popular youtubers review, they just lie everytime. You are amazing bro, you shared your true experience as a consumer. Kindly keep it up
Mine having a weird issue probably no one have reported yet. When noise cancelling on, there is a high pitch ringing sound from the left ear bud. The sound is so intense that you can hear them clearly when those are off the ear. Listening to this sound for barely 10 seconds will damage your ear. Only happens when noise cancelling is on.
This happens when the earplug area( through which the sound comes out) is covered which is the case when you wear it. Since the warranty period is over, can’t do anything. Tried the hard reset; no luck.
I get really bad audio stutter, seems to only really happen when im at the gym.. not sure if other wireless devices are interfering. It will essentially cut the audio for less than a second and back to normal but this will continue to happen for some time.
I have the same problem with the headphones staying in my ear. The right ear piece stays put but the left one keeps sliding off. Also when listening to music I can sometimes hear a very faint static noise in the background. And the noise cancelling does not work at all, nothing happens when I put it in that mode.
Me to don't stay in the ear and NC does nothing returned them after one day and got my money back
I know your frustration with connectivity, I can't use just one ear bud. I also have to put both earbuds back in their case and reconnect them. I am sending them back .

i having the same issue. never drop the earbud before or water but for my case the right earbud is softer than left earbud.

Just bought the sony wf1000xm3 earbuds, and immediately notice that the right earbuds charge abnormally, the red light flicker like crazy, but i just ignore it and charge for the next 2 hours, and when i tried to use it, it doesnt even turn on and response at all.
Idk if mine’s defective but the sound quality is subpar when compared to even the EarPods.
No mids or bass. I can’t replace or return them. I feel cheated. I was so excited when it arrived , i was saving for a while to buy this.

Mine are doing everything exactly the same as yours except mine seems to be more the right headphone (quiet and not holding a charge at all and dies after two hours of use), and the left is louder and lasts about 4 hours. I just charged it up to 70 percent, and only had an hour left of work and ten minutes later I got the "low battery" notification and I checked it it was at 20 percent! 50 percent depletion in ten minutes!

I've got the S8+ and i've been having a lot of latency, fuzzy/metallic sounds/buzzes, and only one side "pairs." These headphones are really cool, but I hate that there are so many "faults" or bug with them :(
Loved the earbuds sound is magnificent noise canceling worked great in flight. but I had all the same issues with two phones XS and 11 pro. Even exchanges the earbuds and had the same issues with a seconded pair. Making calls was not usable. Had to give them back.
Mine had an issue later on In life.and the left one stopped getting power.
after doing some research found out the batteries are replaceable and that is the case so you could easily replace the batteries by your self a bit sensitive to deal with but they pop right out
the battery is a varta CP 1254 A3 button battery available on ebay. to repair simple sepeqrate the top casing on the earbud using a prying tool its a bit hars first time as the is some glue under it. next their is two philips screws mini ones so you will need a mini philips screw driver for phones and laptops.
the button is under the touch sensor looks like is stuck but you can pull it off its only stuck on with some glue so once its of just replace it and put everything back together.
Issue I have with my XM3's: as I turn up the volume above like 75% the level of bass decreases. It seems like I am hearing more highs and mids after 75% volume and less bass/lows. Same experience even if I turn up the clear bass is the eq settings.
I wonder if other people have this issue

Good afternoon sir. You are not alone, I used my warranty at best buy and my left earbud just started draining fast. Now I basically use these 5-7 days a week with np. Then about 2 weeks ago I took notice. So I took them back to best buy to a relationship after charging and setting up. Guess what. The exact same thing. So I'm guessing that last update did some damage.
Best Buy would not take mine back because it had been more than 15 days. I am not thrilled with these at all.
Just bought mine, they simply just don't work. Can't connect to anything, the left one lights up blue it seems but the right one always red or nothing. I tried resetting, reinitializing factory, the process they describe does not even work. I'm so bummed and annoyed right now.
I experience that UA-cam lags as well as pauses when the earphones are connected but plays normally when disconnected - very similar with Samsung Music app. These were replacements for Samsung Galaxy Buds Live which were causing similar problems...
A gen 2 is coming out soon so hopefully these issues will be fixed
Complied foam just came out with new ear tips specifically for the new Sony WF 1000 XM3. They seem to work pretty good check them out

my issues:
1. Wont fit
2. right earbud takes 1 second to respon to anything (including notifications) (no issues while listening to musics, its just that it takes 0.5sec to 1 sec to respon to anything, sync is perfect)
3. ANC is almost non existent
4. Battery doesn't last more than 2 hours with anc and the Hi-res setting set on Auto
5. it seems my right earbud is having a lot of issue
6. my case takes 3 seconds to light up once I open them up

I've had my Sony WF1000XM3's for almost a year now, and I have to say I was actually impressed by how each and every one of the annoying issues that you described are exactly the ones that I have been experiencing ever since I tryed them on for the first time. I don't know what to do, they even hurt my ears when I wear them for a long time, and I've also tryed all the sizes.

You should watch the Sony guide on how to wear them for a more secure fit. You are supposed to insert and turn them
Even when twisted, still falls off. I didn't read the guide, but I've been wearing ear buds my whole life, including wing tips

I have friends too using it from the first day it was launch and didn't have problem slipping off and even using it for jogging.

@@ShakibSayzad too bad...everyone of us having different type and size of ear. Maybe you are just not suitable to use it like the majority of ppl where airpod doesn't sit well in their ear (but don't know why still using it..haha) and I'm one of them.

I have it too, but not everywhere. Outside its great, at my workplace too. But when I'm at home or in a busy train it can get pretty bad. Might be some kind of interference which I never ever experienced with my 1st Gen Airpods.
My left air bud is not working anymore.. Maybe there's a factory defect in this air buds..

Also experiencing this constant sound stuttering and occasional disconnection and re-connection. Truly annoying. Sent to Sony for a warranty repair, 3 weeks later gave me a replacement of the left earbud and charging case (not charging the lid though). Problem still persisted. Also totally agreeing on the case lid being too easily scratched up! Thanks for sharing this online, would have thought I was the only one facing this issue.
For me about 2 years later everything works fine but idk the left earbud doesn't light up but it charges
I broke one of the earbuds (Left one) because I dropped it and now i want to connect my right earbud to another device, but to do so i need to put it in paring mode and without the other earbud it won't go into paring. Does anyone know how to put one earbud into paring mode?

when I bought mine, I was given a really nice cover case for free from the Sony shop, but that was also 2/3 years ago when they first released
My right earbud stopped charging won't reset either. I called sony they are sending me an new set. I just have to mail these in. But I'm worried that they are not going to send the same ones. Because she said that they could be replaced with an different model.
I hve had those headphones for 1 y ear rn and i hate them so much. They keep disconnecting my phone for every 3 minutes. They just turn off and then i need to put them back to case
The problem I am having is that the buds keep disconnecting or dropping and then reconnecting... randomly; doesn't seem like there is a pattern to it. I turned off the "Ambient Sound Control" thinking that was causing the issue but now I think it is the software. It seems when my screen is off it doesn't happen or rarely happens but when the Sony software is the active screen, it happens more frequently and that makes me wonder if the issue stems from their algorithm in the "Adaptive Sound Control". Whatever is causing the issue it is killing a great product that, when working properly, sounds better than any other earbud in the price range... Sony needs to figure it out and correct it!
I forgot to add that when I switch from sitting to walking, I hear a ding and get that drop off than re-connect. And I do have the "Sound Quality Mode" prioritized for stable connection over sound quality.
Mine only lasted four months. After that the red light on the right one never turn off. It heats and the battery only last about half an hours. Even if I dont use it.
I bought it because I wanted the ability to either go with the left or the right while the other one is charging. But I could never get the right one to work by itself. Plus if you read what is says if you do this it's still in Stereo mode. Which means if you're wearing just the right earbud you will not hear none of the sounds that you would hear out of the left earbud. So you could be missing somebody's whole conversation and not even know it. They were nothing but a pain and I didn't want them to be. I'm taking mine back tomorrow and going to try the beats new headset. It says you can use one at a time on it. I loved my Jabra 65t but you can only use the right bud by itself or both and that is not what I'm looking for. It's getting downright stupid I've been through God knows how many headsets trying to find a decent pair. Galaxy buds work great with everything except for nobody can hear me. And my conversations are cut out. You would think after all these years Bluetooth manufacturers we'll figure out a way to make a decent pair of headphones for everybody. It's pretty ridiculous. This will be my sixth trip back to Best Buy to try another set. The jaybirds they were great Unfortunately they left out the be aware feature. So if I wasn't listening to music I could hear my heartbeat. Which was very annoying. Just like Bluetooth 5.0 can work up to 900 m but we're lucky to get 100 ft out of most Bluetooth. come on manufacturers were paying $200 for these damn things that cost you only about $10 to make and you can't give us a decent set. Maybe you should have somebody that actually wears earbuds on a daily basis design them because obviously they don't know what they're doing.
I also have issue with different audio levels of the left and right earbud.
I nearly threw mine in a river today, constantly disconnecting & they don’t fit properly. Ended up running with the left one in my pocket because it was useless.
I just bought these and no matter what I do I cannot get them to connect to my iPhone 11 Pro. When I take them out of the case the right earbud will flash blue the left one is completely black. When I put them back in the case the right one immediately turns red in the left one sometimes will be read other times it will be flashing red. I’ve read in the manual to reset the earbuds I’ve tried doing that and nothing seems to work I’ve tried the app and it won’t even let me to connect the earbuds I tried using the Bluetooth settings of the phone and it doesn’t work either I can’t even try the Headphones to see if they work properly because I can’t get them paired do you have any suggestions or am I doing something really stupid
This is a common issue, but sony fanboys will continue to deny it and insult a lot of reviewers. Call Sony and ask for a replacement, I've received a replacement and I still received some issues. They're sending me another replacement, and trust me Sony is aware of this issue
That is the problem with ios 13.1.x
Take very good care of my things. Have had these for about 6 weeks and only used them 10-20 times. The left earbud is no longer charging and I cant get it to reset. Very frustrating that SOny will not answer the call when there's thousands of people claiming the same problem. this is 100% manufacturing malfunction.
I just got mine, the left won’t pair on its own. Which is the reason I got it. The left paired perfectly on it’s own the first day. The right is not charging right now. They constantly connect and disconnect. They also slip out. I’ve had them for less than of a week. I’ll probably return them. I love the features though.
Just factory reset them, should solve your issues

the sound on mine are way to low. and when I make a phone call its even worse and no one can hear me because of all the background noise.
Hey, had the same problem, go into the app, play some music or smthn, and under "now playing", turn the volume up to it's highest. Should work 👍
I had the same volume problem with the left side that sounded louder than the right, I sent them to sony and they restarted them, and after 2 hours they had failed again, so now I restarted them on my own every time it happened, sometimes it Sometimes it fixed not, and after about 4 months of use the problem is no longer solved by restarting them, I plan to forward them to sony.
Can't agree with you more. The quality of sound is pretty nice but NC is wonky to be honest. I just choose the ambient sound when I use it for work, or just don't use the noise adjustment options at all. I also had issues with both sides of earbuds. Right side glitched once and I was able to reset it after a day, but the left side is not charging, nor working after trying to reset it for 3 days. It's definitely annoying and is sad to say the WF-SP600N has better stability than this disappointment
It seems like just me but the air pressure isn’t properly equalizing..
works perfectly for me. does not slip off my ear even with strong movements. Noise cancelling works perfect too. Maybe the buds are the just the right size for my ears.
I think its a firmware issue, Ive ex·change mine 5 times and they all have the same isssue wih cutting in and out.
update to 1.3.7 and try them again. Mine had to be defective too, and now they seem on par with my wh-1000x m1

I'm holding out for the Jabra 75t's I don't need NC in a earbud. I have NC cans...earbud NC just makes them too damn big and heavy. The 75t's are tiny compared to the Sony's and 7.5 hours of run time between charges.

Hey, I also have them for over 3 or four months now. The fitting is not a problem, you have to insert and turn. As for the connectivity, they almost never disconnect, and if they do which is like once a month, I would know that it is resetting or updating. I keep it in my ear and after 10 seconds they come back to lige

I have the note s8 and never had the problems with BT its bang on auto connects easily. Battery is crap though

Now before you guys criticize me, the main purpose of this video was not to BASH THESE HEADPHONES! The main purpose was to know what you may expect from a defected pair from these earbuds and the next steps you should take to possibly get them fixed. Like I said, my experience was different, and so were a lot of other people! If you check online, a lot of people received defected items and were not happy! I still mentioned that the audio on these guys were amazing, but due to the defect it trimmed down my positive experience. Thanks!

My 1st pair was defective. Only played through the left earbud. Ocassionaly I will have an issue for a few seconds that it would play only through left side then fix itself to play through left and right side. Made sure to return my first pair due to them being defective. Sony was good with the exchange :)
Yea Sony's customer service was great but unfortunately I had issues 3 times. They sound great, but too many issues. I'm waiting on Bose's new headphones

@@ShakibSayzad I notice WF-1000XM3 plays audio through left side for a few seconds then fixes itself. 65T's do the same thing from a review I saw a while back. TWS earbuds are not there yet in terms of technology. Just like not truely wireless over ear headphones was an evolution that has been improving steadly.

My wf1000xm3 battery case battery drained so fast!!! Its just 9 months old. 😭😭😭
The fitting sucked,I used them like 3 times sound was awesome awesome experience with the equalizer all of sudden the volume dropped like 50% .. the noise cancellation stopped working. Connectivity kept dropping. Sound sounded static. Had to return them.. ill stay with my bose better
