- Chapter 65 - Compaction of Soil
For construction of any structure we need its base, the soil below, to be strong. We want the soil in the base to be incompressible so that it does not settles in high amount with time. We want it to be stable against volume change as water content or any other such factors vary.
To achieve this we employ method of soil compaction. Soil compaction is a crucial part of the construction process. It is the process of pressing the soil by mechanical methods, such as rolling and tamping. By compaction we make soil more tightly packed and solid and provide a strong foundation for structures to be built upon.

Thanks Elementary engineering well appreciated
My favourite civil engineering channel on UA-cam.😊❤
This channel is a diamond in educating future generations of geotechnical engineers.
Please explain pore water pressure coefficients, their use in estimating shear-induced excess pore water pressures, especially in rapid drawdown failures of compacted embankments, and conversely, during initial construction of embankments.
Please consider this for your next topic/video. Cheers!
This channel has provided the most professional and creative educational content on soil mechanics. Well done. Looking forward to more videos.
Best regards.
best civil engineering channel😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Love this channel. Sir please bring consolidation videos it'll be a big help.
Nice explanation!
❤❤❤ love from banaras. Great teacher, keep it regular sir❤❤❤
Keep it up !
thank you sir ,,
Nice explanation
Can you see a slight change in the N value during compaction rolling and unwinding?
Welcome sirrrr ❤❤
Super
Love❤️❤️
Bahut accha laga ki aap video bana rahe hai sir
Also loved to see you are still following this channel. Thank you.
Yes we were missing him so much
Please upload the remaining topics also🥲
How to calculate the how many compaction needed and how can check the compaction for knowing is the compaction is enough or need more?
perhaps next video answers your question..
Sir other subject ka bhi study karwa dijiye please.
Survey RCC and SOM
Which software do you used for making this lecture?
Nice explanation though It feels like Sachin Tendulkar is explaining the whole process..!
After so longg..
If you make video in hindi, your channel will grow very fast..
