    I dread the sad day I hear anything about Iron Maiden saying goodbye. I've been a fan since 1982 and they have never ever disappointed me. They have been there for me through very rough times and I will always love this band.

      Fan since 92. They were such a big part for many people's lives growing up, not just the music but later the artwork, the shirts, that strange logom.. all had a kind of mystique around it.
      Anyway unless there are health issues I can see them getting to 50 years and calling it a day in some form. Nicko will be 75, some of the others will be 70... I don't want them to end up like other bands trying to plug the gaps (Priest, Slayer) or going out well past their sell by date (Kiss).
      Steve probably has that kind of integrity where he would rather end it that plod on forever.

      I've been a fan since 1983! Would love to see them around for another 5 years, at least. Nicko is 70-something, and Steve is 67. Bruce is 64. Hoping the band can keep it going!!!! UP THE IRONS!!!

      I think they'll do one more studio album and tour, then semi-retire and just do the odd one-off show, festival headliner etc. Will be a sad day, but multiple generations will be able to look back on it with a sense of warmth and fondness I doubt any other band will ever evoke

    • @roybell8470
      @roybell8470 Рік тому +3

      Yes and I truly believe they really really respect there fans and know what it's taken to earn that. They all have been nothing but true professionals, hardiest working band I've ever seen. I do believe the love is mutual . You do not get that from alot of bands. It's just not about the money. Never has been. Heck they never really played Maiden on radio much at all where I come from. They have earned it big time. I'm glad to be alive to see just how big they have gotten across the world. I hope we can get a couple more studio albums though. Lol

    I think these last few tours have shown Maiden are masters at their game. It's a near perfect show. Only switch I would make is Can I Play with Madness for either Sea of Madness or Deja Vu. Regardless, I hope this leg of the tour continues into more of North America and South America next year, and maybe both Russia and Ukraine at some point.

    I saw them at Nottingham (there's a highlight reel on my channel), and it was like I was transported back to 1989, when I was a 13 year old kid watching Live After Death for the first time. I'd seen them twice before, but that was back before Adrian rejoined, so this was my first time seeing him.
    As I teenager I was a massive Adrian Smith fan, so to finally see him, and hear him play Stranger in a Strange Land and Wasted Years was a really special moment.
    I was seated on the "Dave side" of the stage, and it should be noted that his playing is still fantastic.
    I'm not as big a fan of Alexander The Great as many others, but Somewhere In Time was always a favourite album, and they slipped many a favourite of mine into the set (The Prisoner, Can I Play With Madness, etc.).
    Whether or not someone feels the stage is a step backwards with its lack of mechanical/physical props, it was still an incredible show that was everything the teenage version of me could have wanted.
    Lastly, flames. So many flames. You could feel the temperature rising in the arena.

    I went on the 11th of July to see the future past tour in Amsterdam. It was the 1st time I was able to see them live after being a fan for 36 years. Somewhere in time was my first music album I ever bought and I had goosebumps all night. I went with my sister. who went from "I don't really like them" to "they are ok but not really my thing" before the show. But afterwards she really got the bug and had become something of a fan.

    I know the Technical Product Manager for video for this tour; he puts together the video walls. He normally puts together the video screens in his software, flies out to the first concert, and hands off his hardware to the crew and flies back home. But, he's been asked to stay on tour with Maiden for the Canadian leg of the tour. I'm really happy for him as he grew up a Maiden fan just like us and now gets to go on tour with them; at least for the Canadian leg of the tour. I'm hoping to make it to the Vancouver show, as it's the closest show to where I live in America.

    I love how they are finally showcasing Adrian on guitar. He plays some of the bands best solos. Dave is incredible of guitar and every tour he is showcased. Adrian and Jackie split the other solos. So far from the videos I've seen Adrian is the lead on being showcased and Dave and Jackie split the rest. I could be wrong but that's how I see it. Which I like because Adrian is my favorite guitarist in Iron Maiden

    • @Rowlph8888
      @Rowlph8888 Рік тому +3

      What do you mean? He wasn't being showcased, those are all the solos HE WROTE and performed on those album tracks. Somewhere in Time Was Effectively Adrian's Album, so it's impossible to play those tracks without him dominating the presence.The mini jazz -like solo before the 2 main solos and the intro to Alexander were his contributions.He wrote the music to the prisoner with Bruce providing the lyrics, same with writing on the wall.Hell, he even wrote the intro to "loneliness of the long-distance runner", which they unfortunately didn't perform.
      I love Dave as a maverick shredder, but as a songwriting guitarist and particularly with tastefulness in improvisation, he doesn't compare to Adrian- In fact Nobody does- Adrian only ever improvises slightly and it never detracts from the beauty of the fit of the original solo, and sometimes actually improves it amazingly

      I'm not very good at drawing, and cyborg Eddie looked complicated, so I would usually draw prophecy Eddie, from the inside cover of Seventh Son.
      In theory their next tour will be a mix of whatever the new album is and Seventh Son (which was the first album I listened to, so I will lose my frickin' mind).

But then, in Sofia, after his fantastic "Gerusalemme", it was the same. I was in the first row and saw his smile, like he was happy. - I will see them twice, at Hellfest and in Hannover.

    There's been a lot of comments on other channels regarding Nicko's playing this tour, saying he's not doing fills etc. here and there, but to be honest, I can draw 3 conclusions from this. Firstly, they had a lot of technical problems on the first few dates in Slovenia and Prague. Secondly, as you said yourself, this is probably the most ambitious set lists they've performed in well over a decade and also, he is getting on which does take its toll. All these points to me are just teething troubles. They will hit their stride and even though there are a few rough patches at he moment, they still sound far far FAR better than Guns and Roses or Motley Crue do these days and they're over 10 years older than those bands! I can't wait to see them in Murcia in July, it's going to be epic! I really hope you can get to witness this tour sometime too dude! As always, keep up the good work and Slava Ukraini! Robin

    I saw them last night in Nottingham.
    They were f##king magnificent !!
    The crowd went nuts and the band were on fire.
    Bruce went wrong in Stranger in a Strange Land, and Jaick had some tech issues, and Bruce also seemed to have issues with his mike feeding back a fair bit early on.
    He moved around incredibly well for someone his age and with a hip replacement
    And I'm just in awe of Nicko's playing for a man of that age
    Sad they're another step closer to the end as there's no one like them

    Thanks for another great video! I saw them on Saturday, first of the two Tampere shows and here’s some thoughts:
    The stage and especially lighting was super cool and it managed to fit both 80’s and modern vibes PERFECTLY! Bruce’s voice was on fire and he seemed more relaxed than I’ve ever seen him, although unfortunately maybe his hearing is loosing some edge since he was at times a whole bar off beat, but the band did great to make it back on track (could also just be monitoring issues)! Steve and all three guitarists were on absolute fire as well, Dave didn’t seem at all like he would want to retire anytime soon! Adrian really carried the show, he played the most solos, maybe the success of the recent Smith/Kotzen -stuff gave him some extra confidence? Unfortunately the weakest link of the show was Nicko, he seemed at times really to be struggling…. It was especially sad for me to see, since he’s always been my favourite drummer! He was slowing down the tempo quite a bit in almost every song (the rest of the band was trying to keep it up and signal him a few times), missed a bunch of key fills and generally simplified his drum parts a lot… His signature swing and feel just wasn’t there anymore… But hey, the guy just turned 71 and maybe he just had a bad night? Anyway it was a really cool show once again!
    Slava Ukraini and Up the Irons!
    P.S. I was fortunate enough to see British Lion the previous day from the front row right in front of Steve’s bass gear! It was incredible to witness his incredible musicianship so close, and even more special was that he threw his wristband to me! It means so incredibly much to me since Iron Maiden was what originally turned me on to metal and one of the biggest inspirations for me to become a musician + my favourite band of all time!

      Totally true, Bruce failing at knowing the newer Harris songs to the level he should is concerning. Nicko is just old. Bruce is just sloppy. Unforgivable, he did the same on Stratego the last Tour.
