- In today's video I show you what is needed to turbo your E30. While I have my car taken apart I figured it would be a good chance to show you all of the components to a simple turbo setup on a stock M20. I had wanted to boost an E30 or E36 M3 for years leading up to this but had so many questions that didnt seem to get answered. That's what I set out to do in this video, just a quick and simple overview of the parts and anatomy of a turbo setup on an M20. If you have any questions or need any advice leave a comment, I answer everyone! Also feel free to give me some advice if you know of a better way to do something mentioned!

You know you won in life when you can actually buy a turbo kit and install it on your own e30
I’m working on one now got some videos up just started the build
Much appreciated for this and the ever-popular no-start troubleshooting guide.
Helping me, and likely many others, to resurrect a Craig's junker.
I have a 91 e30 I want to turbo love videos like this it helps
Just sub’d. Great content and thanks for the quick reply’s to the questions.
Thank you!
Subbed 😎 not alot of e30 people in my area. Only seen maybe 5 driving by my whole lifetime so far. I got a e30 cabriolet im doing a m60b40 single turbo swap on
Hey nice video i have 2 e30 87 , 86 this video help me to to start making a project for this 2 cars i would like more videos about any more tuning or modification on electrical system great jod getting from california
Hey man. This is a very nice video. I just got a red E30. Building that car right now and I'll definitely post some stuff on my channel. Question to you is do you still have this car? And if so, how is that kit still treating you up to May 2024?
Still have the car and still going strong 💪
Do you need to cut holes for piping?
Any reliability problems with it?
Factory air box?
And mass air flow sensor?
Is that new river gorge bridge i seen back there?
Awesome lots of info!
Factory clutch?
Did you gap the rings
I used an original short block i had from another car i parted out. Didnt take the pistons out or rotating assembly.
Hi there. Thanks for the video and the information.
Are you running r12 in your AC? Did you change over to R134a? Looks like you have the original condenser still.
Thanks again
I convert all of my older cars to r134a for convenience. I have never done anything besides vacuum and recharge either and its always ice cold. Theres actually been cars that i didnt even perform a vacuum, charged with r134a and had no issues.
nice bronzit man
Thanks!
ok i NEED to know what did u do to plug hole in bottom of intake so no to get boost press in crank?????????????
Man i literally left the valve cover open and stuck a bolt in the hose going to intake and then put a hose clamp on it. Worked perfect for years. Im installing a catch can with this new motor tho that just goes inline between the valve cover and intake.
Love the build i have a 1989 e30 but its automatic can i turbo it still
Sure but the trans wont last long and will hold back most of the car’s performance. I would start with a manual swap before i boosted it.
Do I have to remove the engine to turbo my m20b25 e30?
no but if you want to make reliable power I recommend opening it up and changing rod bearings and headgasket
Are you on a turbo chip? Man kind of wish I kept all my turbo stuff but I don't have space to work on my car.
no dme tuning at all !
What kit is this where did you get it from I’d like to order one that has everything
Ebay, Theres a link in the description. You will still need a few odds and ends. If you watch my first couple videos about the ebay turbo review i go more in depth with whats needed and part numbers/links.
Bro how much power you making?
I have e30 thinking of making the same set up
Good video. I like it that you are keeping the A/C. Wouldn't it be possible to attach the oil drain back line to the oil pan with a screw-in fastener to avoid having to weld on a bung?
Thanks! Yes it would be but you would still have to drill a hole leaving metal shavings so would have to pull the pan either way. I had the resources fortunately to have it welded for free so went that route.
What ecu are you running
stock DME, its covered what i did for "tuning" in the first few videos about the turbo kit install/review.
Are you stock ecu?
Yes
How many much boost
For sale no tune 😂 people getting inspiration
