    I think the lyrics and this video tell the story of what she's trying to convey. About being in the physical world, putting herself in a box where she can sell and people can have something they feel they own. Listen to what she is singing and it becomes clear. I think kill is a preview of where she is heading and this shows what the next steps for Kin are, a physical package. The whole song is summed up by the name, it's goods!

  • @aquanaucs

    So I'm thinking that this song is a stark contrast to the rest of the album: I believe that in this video, she is dressed a jester-a light-hearted, comedian and satirist.
    She realizes her imposition from the rest of album where she is lost, depressed, and delusional, and decides to celebrate and move past her past, somewhat belittling her preceding attitudes lyrics, as if she surpassed some sort of adolescence. I say this especially because in the previous video she chooses not to kill herself.
    Any thoughts?
    Loving this new found musical project!

      I have always thought that 'goods' is not so part of the storyline of kin, but it's connected with all as well.
      I think this video and the song are about locked up the madness into a black box, like the boxes in airplanes that record everything inside. Something like that.
      Damn, I am too lazy to explain with more details.Good night :c

      A bit late to the party, but I took the album as a story about attaining enlightenment. Goods is the final phase where she's finally able to move beyond physical concerns, as well as the mental ones holding her back. I took the visuals as being allegorical as it does alude to some esoteric disciplines pertaining to enlightenment and self actualisation.

      The album has explicitly been stated to be about the production and delivery of all the material of the album in real time, and its connection to the fans.
      As the closer, this music video is iamamiwhoami telling the fans "That's it. Everyone go home. Show's over."
      This song's lyrics make reference to the work that must be put in to keep viewers and listeners interested, which is fun but cannot be done continuously. They have to take care of themselves as well.
      Another song that makes close reference to the nature of the work is "in due order". It seems to be a cheeky reminder that the audience does no longer play a major role on the output of their work, no matter what anyone would like to believe.
      It did during the prelude and bounty, as they had no idea what they were doing and were mostly using the feedback as input. That's why they were so secretive about the whole thing. They wanted their work to be influenced exclusively by the output itself and the audience's reaction. But by the middle of this album that was no longer the case. They kinda knew what they were doing, they were just playing the part.
      Which circles back to "goods", as they reference their awareness to the nature of the whole project. They know the fans would like this to continue for a little while longer but everyone knows that's not viable.

    I come with delivery, and I have left it in my mourning band
    I bring you my history that I expect your tender arms around it
    Give it love and think of me
    These are the letters from a compound
    See the dawning of novelty
    Where we embrace the kind of subtlety
    Time finally caught up with me
    A modelling image of the fleeing fugitive
    Toned down but playful
    Say your greetings with goodbyes
    Your cup is brim full
    Sorrow sinking with a smile
    Now we found a cure
    Returning to the shore
    Change is always given to decide just who it's for

    • @mpdesign100
      @mpdesign100 10 років тому +11

      I believe so too! Blue is all about the sea, the coast...

    • @vonray2781
      @vonray2781 10 років тому +43

      She went to the ocean and drowned in "kill", and she said: "Come on, just give this a second coming, An age is dawning with our smiles and laughter", here she was introducing the BLUE era, an era that has a more "happy" and "less dark" approach than the previous eras. When she drowned she found the "cure", she completed her journey to get "the final product", in her words, which is represented by the black cube that wraps up "kin" era. She says in "goods": "Now we found the cure, Returning to the shore, Change is always given to the searchers who explore"; we are the searchers and she is gifting us with the change that is the BLUE era. In "fountain", the first episode of the BLUE era, she leaves the dark woods of conscience to find out: "What lies beyond the fringe of the woods?" (fountain, from BLUE). That's how she got to the shore and graced us with BLUE, even though she still thinks could be risking it all.

    • @vonray2781
      @vonray2781 8 років тому +8

      armando moreno mesina To me, "dive" is about understanding that we all have that side that everyone can see - "the surface", but as we know ourselves better, we are connected to what really matters. She is now hiding in the deep of the ocean so she can find what really matter (she considers the "digital world" to be the ocean she talks about on blue, but to me it's more than that). She tell us that her art does not come from common sense it's not on the "surface" (mainstream, if you will). I think that deeply (no pun intended) she regrets it's not more widely appreciated, but she can't find a way to get there or maybe she doesn't even want to ("Too late to swim for the surface"). As we learn know who we really are, it can be "salty" but it will perhaps turn our tears into laughters. Acceptance is the word. If we can accept who we are, we can be taken to shoreless bays, we can be free, and get closer to "Understanding all [we] need to follow", to really value what really matters. I find "dive" to be quite a emotional/sad song. And then there's "the deadlock" - is this the end? No, it's not! She sings to us: "It won't be long, I'll see you soon". She is concerned and unsure, you can feel it through the lyrics, but she knows that the bond she created with us is a very strong one. And we will be here... waiting. Always and forever.

    I kind of think that the "cure" she finds here is the cure for the depression she experienced earlier in kin and which slightly was foreshadowed in bounty. Even though she's still stuck in her own mind (the cube), she's starting to feel better (the jester costume meaning she's getting happier)

    I still hear her say she has to feed a hungry mouse in this song, regardless of sometimes not understanding what she is singing, it doesn't matter, the music is brilliant, the videos are masterpieces of visual delights. The layers in the music, the harmonies, the instrument sounds she picks... Fantastic!! I love the entire Kin and Bounty series.... You can make your own conclusions about what the songs are about. Just enjoy and hey!, dance with her its celebration time!!

    This is one element of iam that no other fanbase gets. It's the anxiety of a new video and not knowing what the hell the video will include or respark. It's a wonderful unique experience that I would never give up.

    Iamamiwhoami should stay like this. Some artists have become famous and changed their style. I wouldn't like if iamamiwhoami change their style.

    • @robbyfernandez
      @robbyfernandez 11 років тому +11

      I think Iamamiwhoami is making a way from the most conceptual, still experimental thing until the very hard POP music, as she is going from the forest till the city, like a history of human development.
      Somehow I believe that their style doesn't change, but that in the next album she'll come with harder beats.
      Like it's the "Who am I" fase.

      I don't agree.
      I think Whatever group Iamamiwhoami wants to say - They have appropriate resources and They perfectly know how to show it to us. So If They would change style i would Listen them still, and i would want to understand and feel what they wanted us to feel. You can't tell them what They should do. They will always enter changes, because They are progressing.
      Jonna said that everything they do is created in real time, so i think that it makes their music and videos so mysterious and that's why it has this wonderful form and shape.

    Is it something to do with a cube (that features in much of her videos) and the confined way she is dancing in the cube is supposed to represent the neat package an artist is supposed to produce for the market
