    To even think of owning something that came out of Rick Baker’s studio, would just blow my mind! It’s sad that the materials used can’t withstand the test of time, because seeing Gizmo move would have been awesome! The attention to detail allowed us to believe there could actually be a real Gizmo. What a great prop, and such a classic couple of movies!

      Off the top of my head, I remember him using it for Gizmo, Skeeter from Muppet Babies, and for Bobby from Bobby's World. And there's probably more.

    A cool trivia fact about Gremlins: The actor who played the father, Hoyt Axton, was also a singer, guitar player, songwriter, and he wrote "Joy To The World" a big hit song for the band Three Dog Night. Plus other songs for other folks, and for himself. A talented guy. Like Rick Baker and his team of craftsmen. That puppet of Gizmo shows, carefully, all the work those folks did.

    • @lo-firobotboy7112
      @lo-firobotboy7112 2 роки тому +7

      I agree, I still prefer practical effects. Today's CGI is a great tool but, for me, super-slick, frenetic action sequences (I'm talking to you MARVEL) are no longer interesting to watch. Well made, well manipulated, and well photographed props, models and puppets (and real stunts) will always be more fun to watch. It truly is an art form and a dying craft.

    I remember helping to run Wonderfest in Louisville KY back I think around 1996. Chris Walas was a guest, and during the show people would donate things for a raffle with proceeds going to children's AIDS foundation. Chris Walas donated a bunch of props, including an animated gizmo in a barbie car, a couple of full sized Gremlins used in the film, not to mention a rubber monster suit from that bizarre movie with the insect typewriter. I must have spent hundreds on tickets trying to win one of the Gremlin props, and one kid who was helping with the show wound up winning the suit and one of the Gremlins!

Two methods to do that you lay down a layer r two of outer skin and paint the veins in before adding the remainder or you make a vein mold and lay vein casts into you character after the initial outer skin is in place
