i'm using bard for a long time. and my honest review is bard is annoying. and same goes for gemini. no matter what you do. whatever you say. it will never answer a question once gemini said something like "i need for specific information". but chatGpt directly answered my question without making me angry. the question i asked to gemini was about blender render time with my processor. i didn't ask gemini to give correct answer, i just wanted to have an idea. but the f. gemini literally annoyed me 10 minutes and didn't give an answer. but chatGpt did it in 30 second.
Is this the AI that UA-cam is using to delete my comments on UA-cam videos starting recently? They vanish about 5 seconds after posting. Yes, I am being targeted by UA-cam’s AI censor.
It would be fun to let Chatgpt and Gemini talk to each other

Thank you for the overview! I have been using bard for a while now for proofreading and writing emails, simply because ChatGPT is blocked on my work computer and Bard wasn’t. I really enjoyed that there are always three versions of output. I would always check other drafts. I’m excited about Gemini. Great video, Igor, as always.
But I would agree with you, for more complex tasks, I enjoy having my own GPTs that can provide very specific responses.

Thanks for your unbiased opinion. I think it is unfair to pass judgement on it in the way other influencers have because it has only just dropped. I think we should give it the same 2 months grace we are getting to play with it for free. Then do a head to head battle. I do feel you have nailed it with fact they(openai and google) are traveling in 2 different directions with 2 different audiences in mind. Full disclosure... My money would be on Gemini and I was already a bard fan. I use Openai to solve use cases at work and Bard to do my job better. Can't wait to see how they both evolve. Thanks again.

Inspired by you, I ran a test of my own, prompted both GPT 4 and Gemini Advanced with almost identical 12 prompts, exploring impact of tannins and histamines in red wine and food on quality of sleep and overall health effects. In the 2nd prompt I told both that I do not take any medication. In the 10th I have asked this question back - do I use any medication? - and both answered they could not determine. I prompted both that the information was provided before - GPT could retrieve it and put it back in the context. Gemini could not. It asked me when did I provide it and in what context. It started creating a plan how it will retrieve it later. I prompted it to acknowledge “no shame” if it cannot do it - it agreed there was a glitch and it could not. For me this is a BIG difference for now, ability to retrive and contextualize info from the same thread (at least).
Gemini Advanced - I was hoping for google to empower the search with an intelligent assistant, but seems not there yet. When prompted with a detailed google-search related tasks: 1) to summarize global/local country news - came back with ok results comparable to GPT4 and Copilot.
When prompted 2) “find me ski boots specific model and size in Europe for the best price” outlined the “approach” it will run “later” - and when pushed “do it now” just comes back with generic stuff how I should search myself.
A bit disappointing, but I guess, early days.

I always laugh when something new comes out and someone says it's as good as GPT-4. Shouldn't companies be going after GPT-5 instead of GPT-4? Because when GPT-5 comes out, all these companies will be left far behind again.

Yeah not like Google wants this particular space to evolve rapidly as it disrupts their core business. But yeah you are completely right its obvious that OpenAI is about to make their next set of moves.
I have two day's experience with Gemini Advanced, but already I'm impressed with the multimodal capabilities reading research papers and combining this with reasoning and planning... with its vision capabilities... and it's integration with google sheets and it's @UA-cam extension... I think this is an interesting one to watch to see if the ground-up multimodal structure of ultra will start to enable new capabilities over time.

I agree with you chatGPT answers speed is just perfect , it does not overwhelm you , I think its no harm for Gemini adopting that .
2nd , the chatGPT answers feel very human n does not always reply in AI way! it will understand the jokes and sarcasm .
Gemini is like giving google search engine vibe and always ready to get your job done .
GPT uses the same words haha. For my studio I try to do posts for LinkedIn and it always started with "W'ere thrilled..."

Personally I find it brilliant! It is my daily Assistant now. It's response to commands for smart devices is super quick compared to the Google Assistant. Love love love it.

yes, I asked gpt4 to act like a trump supporter and write some text in this context and it did it. also, asked it why was trump the greatest president and then why obama and it answered for both in a very unbiased way although it was written what people think and not what it thinks. I was really pleasantly surprised, must say. but gemini said simply that it can't do it what apparently can be done better with simply stating what people think or describing two different views and letting you to decide which is better @@aiadvantage

How can we measure the value of Artificial intelligence? is not a race, so speed should not be the correct way, is not a mechanical object, so following steps should not be the correct way, it's an intelligence, so it should be measured by the quality of the results of its reasoning, its adaptability to situations, its creative ways to show results, its understanding of contexts.

I don't think thats a very good test to ask it to write an eassay about penguins... It might give you a feel of how natural it is wording sentences.
But GPT 3.5 can do that too.
Gemini is so censored that it refuses to answer in 30% of the prompts.
Everytime I use it, I have this weird feeling at the back of my head that it might refuse the next prompt.
It's good but the overall experience is really bad in my opinion.
Can it generate xls and pdfs?
Since Gemini appeared, everything I wanted to know I consulted both versions of AI. But the most accurate and complete seems to me to be the last one, that is, Gemini.

I just asked a simple question: Who is Alphonso Dunn? CHATGPT and other AI models answer this question with ease. Bard, Gemini always answered : I do not have enough information about that person to help with your request. I am a large language model, and I am able to communicate and generate human-like text in response to a wide range of prompts and questions, but my knowledge about this person is limited. Is there anything else I can do to help you with this request?
Update: I gave all additional information like he is an artist, he does pen and ink drawing etc… Gemini still answered me the same way. It purely amazed me with its no ability to answer extremely simple questions. 🤦
just tested this myself and can confirm your results! definitely weird, a huge issue if the Google chatbot can't answer questions that you can Google...

yeah, obviously I'm biased but I found his critique unfair.
that video is explaining the most powerful way I found to use custom instructions right when they released. it's 6 months old and isn't a beginner guide, it's an advanced process I found early and wanted to share. the process I outline in the video essentially teaches you "how to build a custom GPT" months before OpenAI even introduced the concept at Dev Day.
this process is still a great option for anyone looking to build a highly specialized ChatGPT setup on the free ChatGPT plan.
everybody's entitled to their own opinions and advice! the way he uses custom instructions is solid. I prefer to go a bit more in depth.

Honestly I'm disappointed with Google and won't take them serious any further. It has become a pattern to be delivering overhyped blunders because they want to catch up with OpenAI and Microsoft. Despite the bragging on the benchmarks, it's still not as smart as GPT4 also we can't upload multiple files apart from images. Yes it has speed but honestly it's way too overhyped as usual
I´m very disappointed of Gemini Advanced. It's slow, often inaccurate and mostly doesn't have a clew when showing pictures.

If I want to test the AI, I would only talk to it. Please create a Business logo for me with a koala climbing a tree and a red car in front. 2 : change the car s colour to red, 3 the koala will be better with a baby on her back... Etc etc and you will see it this assistant will be like a real one or... Not at all, Chatgpt can't do such things and the logo are just horrible.

If you want the most capable AI assistant I personally am still with GPT-4 due to the custom instructions, code interpreter. Plus the more I play with Gemini the more I prefer the model OpenAI has right now in terms of creativity. That being said it's close now whereas 24h ago it wasn't even a discussion.
gemini advance is garbage. you cant post any file in it, it told the users you can add flies from your drive but then when you send a link from your drive it writes "i dont understand and i dont use files links etc etc" , wtf
Oh dude Gemini is absolute trash compared to ChatGPT. My husband thought he'd try it out and wanted to create an NPC for his RPG campaign. He needed to create a villain who was tough, thuggish and burly.
Well, Gemini wouldn't let him.
Why? Well I won't give you all the reasons why but here's the main few:
It wouldn't generate the image because he put "thuggish" and "brute" in his prompts. The reason why: "Thuggish and brute are commonly used as negative sterotypes towards black persons"
It wouldn't generate the image also because he used the words "masculine" and "manly". The reason why:
"It reinforces negative stereotypes of men" and "These are words that represent an outdated view of men".
So yeah, it's the most hyper woke of the AI's out there.
It even had the audacity to tell him "Although you may disagree, it does not mean that you are wrong, however this is not censorship".
Another thing it fails at is memory. It forgets your context very quickly. ChatGPT's memory is indeed much superior too.

I also tried Google Gemini. Overall, I definitely don't think it's better than other AIs, and it doesn't justify the very expensive version that you have to pay for per month. It's simply not worth the money!

@@aiadvantage it rounds after every equation it does causing the final answer to be very off by the end result in chemistry questions, and basic ones at that, I gave it chem 1 questions. it also second guesses itself, giving the right answer sometimes in the first line then when it shows the math, because of rounding, its off in the last line; it seems like the first line is taken from a source on the internet then the last line is its own failed calculations. in differential equation its algebra manipulation is very wonky and questionable. given this I gave it questions from a calc 1 course on implicit differentiation and again its algebra is wonky leading to an incorrect answer. these are all things I've tested with gpt-4 and get right 90% of the time.

I put the biggest dislike to this video. I’m sorry but have you any real clue how bad Gemini is? ask it the simplest of questions and it consistently gets it wrong. It does not even know the current date. This review is as bad as Gemini. Please do not trust this review and do your own empirical testing and not rely on this video.
Agreed. If the answer isn't wrong, Gemini refuses to answer due to ethical concerns, arguing that you're not responsible enough to receive that answer...🙄
