When Omni man said he thought of Marks mom like a pet. I think he was talking about how their lifespans are basically that of a Human and a goldfish. Not some weird degenerate crap. Remember, he said the older he gets, the slower he ages. Debbie and Mark are unfortunately a blimp in Omni man's lifespan.
When you can live for hundreds or even thousands of years, a human lifespan will pretty much desentivise you quickly to their short life when you see your friends die and you do not.

@@L_MonkeLiterally the whole point of Invincible is that this way of thinking is wrong. Omniman's time spent with Debbie and Mark genuinely changes him as a person and that is something he was struggling with coming to terms with and trying to deny.

Not so fun fact: Omni-man crushing Red Rush's skull was shown from Red Rush's time perspective. That happened before anyone had time to react. In the zoom out you can see how fast Red Rush is punching, then it zooms back in and slows it down.

In the comics, Green Ghost can also create green energy constructs like Green Lantern. Also, In the comics Omni-Man kills them almost instantly. They were easily overwhelmed and he didn’t take a lick of damage I think.
Yeah, Omni-Man taking damage in the show and none in the comics is basically the western comic book version of the final fight scene of the Black Lagoon OVA where Roberta took no damage in the manga but in the anime she became an amputee.

I forget the youtube parody, but they had a good point about how speed is the WORST superpower. You have to meet someone on the other side of the world? You'll be running for years even though it seems instant for them. All that lonely time would be enough to make you go insane.
I heard a different perspective on Amber. One woman said that she was mad that Mark wasn't telling her the truth. She was pissed that Mark told everyone except for her that he was a superhero. She was trying to get him to flat out tell her instead of lie and make poor excuses on why he couldn't see her at certain times. Last I checked, partners get hurt when you lie; it makes them feel like they aren't trustworthy or good enough to share this kind of stuff.
Yes but he wasn't sure if the relationship was going to last and the other people who knew his identity were either other super heros or his friend who found out on his own. The fact that Amber drug out the whole issue as long as she did and then proceeded to rip into Mark for not showing up to their dates when he's getting his ass beat protecting people, kinda shows me that Amber either didn't understand or didn't care about what Mark was going through outside of their relationship. Obviously this was rectified in season 2, but season 1 they wrote her to be almost unbearable.

There 2 ways for insanely long-lived people to handle relationships. 1 is Omni Man who saw Debbie as a pet. 2 is Hob Gadling from the Sandman series, who deeply loved every single woman he ever had a lasting relationship with and eventually outlived. There is no in-between.
1 is "eh, they don't live long enough for me to care".
2 is "I will forever mourn them not living as long as me".

Then he ran at a tank, with nothing but a sword, deflected the bullets and shells from the tank as if hes genji from overwatch, which scares the people in the tank... like imagine being in a fortified steel artillery box, thinking you are the safest person around, because you are in a *tank* and are against a bunch of soldiers not in tanks and a guy with a sword, then that illusion of safety being shattered by having the sword guy just sprint towards you and none of your weapons are working, youd be scared too, king bradley definitely has black airforce energy, when tanks run from you, you know you are just like that, physically constructed alternatively.

Omnimans explaination about why debbie is like a pet makes perfect sense and is completely logical she will be dead in an eyeblink compared to his lifespan imagine meeting someone and falling for them knowing full well theyll die in 7 days of natural causes you just wony get that attached to them and it even worse for mark as before he even reaches young adult hood for his species everyone he has ever known or loved will have been dead for hundreds of years he wont recognize anyone or anything on earth as the culture will have moved on and he will be views as a centurys old monster who lords over the world with 300 year old values that wonnt change. Suffice it to say from the perspective of a race that lives for thousands of years mark has no logical reason to side with humanity. There is no future for him on earth.
