It's probably the visual aspect of this mod that accentuates it, but the way this is structured makes it feel like reality is completely breaking.
Which is actually quite fitting for Zalgo, considering what Zalgo was before Sonic2.exe wrote him as the one behind X.

This version confirms my theory, the first part of the song is Sonic fighting Zalgo in his head, the other part is Tails fighting Sonic possessed by Zalgo

@@MisterRake87 Well you see, when Sonic is fighting Zalgo Tails you can see the true Tails sliping in the background, that's him trying to reach Sonic from the exterior

There's gotta be a remix where Sonic and Tails team up against Zalgo Sonic and Tails. Unless that's not how it works in the story.
I think one of them has to be possessed. What would be cool is if like Knuckles got possessed by Zalgo. Or maybe characters like Amy, Mighty,Ray, or maybe any of the Chaotix.
This song/ style has a story but in this story tails dies because sonic wasn't able to overcome his fears like the og and this and also im confused aswell because if zalgo took sonic or tails body cause in the game he eats everybody also eggman so yeah im stuck to
But imagine this, and this is just a fun idea:
I think in one of the endings, Tails sees Sonic and another Tails (Which he thinks is Zalgo) and jumps on him into the spikes. However, it's actually revealed that Zalgo swapped with Sonic and Sonic's soul was in the Tails body. What if Sonic and Tails woke up in some kind of void (for example) and teamed up to fight Zalgo. However, to make things fair, Zalgo creates evil versions of Sonic and Tails. I don't know, something stupid like that.

My only true complaint is that the animations play too quickly, leading to some weird looking background elements and tails well... tails... go a little fast... sonic's overly fast foot tapping... is funny... other than those small nitpicks, it's great
I'll be honest:
I don't like this version that much tbh
It's cool don't get me wrong! Some parts like "Your last chance" being extended for some bars was a nice surprise but it was over extended too...
And the extra part when Zalgo (? Not too sure about this story so I'll call them like that) turns into the last form thingy, was interesting but a bit too contrasting in sound for me.
And something that I really did not like was the big Tails showing up with transparency singing at the start, because I liked the impact the other version had where it was impactful seeing the transformation (1:30)
Other than that, very interesting, love that the noteskin was fixed for consistency, and the animated "corrupted" background! (Though no idea what the floating things are?)
Also the zooms on the "open your eyes" part huh, they are kinda menacing yeah they're cool

This is fantastic, even better than the original song, but I just can't understand including the photos of BF in the middle, kinda takes away from the feeling of the song to see some goofy pictures pop up, otherwise its great!
