I, too, tend to lose my English when I listen to Dimash. But I'm a native speaker! He does that to us. Steals our breath. Shock and awe. This was a studio production, and I'm pretty sure it's Autotuned in parts, but... it's still Dimash. Good. Dimash spent an hour and a half talking to fans live on UA-cam yesterday. Some parts of it were translated into English - those were the only parts I understood. He mentioned several interesting things: - Dimash has a recording contract with a music publisher/studio/agency in China. - His voice deepened in the baritone register only two years ago. (It didn't take him long to figure out how to use it!) - Two years ago, his only English was a single phrase. He has since made progress. (I can't imagine where he found the time to work on it.) - His first performance in London sold out in 1 1/2 hours. (Unusual for an artist with no Western music publisher/studio backing him!) He was sick just before the performance, sore throat, cracking voice. He went on stage anyway. Being in front of the audience had a healing effect for him. He was able to sing. - Several fans have written to tell him that they were cured of their illnesses by listening to him. He doesn't think he has healing powers, though. - Before the pandemic, tourism picked up in Kazakhstan - mostly Dimash fans eager to visit his home country. Some visited with his family in Astana. I gather they were treated kindly. - When not touring, over the last three years, he lived in China, with frequent trips home to Astana. Now he's riding out the pandemic with family in Astana. - Dimash doesn't like to watch his own videos. He finds too many mistakes. (He is his own worst critic.) - He doesn't believe he's as good as he should be/could be. (More work to do!) - Dimash can't stand musical artists who are arrogant. He refuses to let himself become arrogant. - Sometimes, Dimash watches reaction videos on UA-cam, especially from vocal coaches. (It's a way to pick up constructive criticism, I suppose.) - He is grateful to his fans and his audiences for their attention and encouragement. (Artists always say that, but for some reason, in this case, I believe him.) A new channel, DQ, popped up on UA-cam a few days ago and started uploading videos. This appears to be a marketing channel connected to Dimash. One video is an advertisement for DQ scents of some sort. Another is an hour-long retrospective documentary about Dimash's development from a local performer to a regional star to a worldwide sensation, with short interviews from family, teachers, and contest judges where he competed. English subtitles. The people who put this together don't have an excellent command of English, but they're trying. I'll give them credit for it. There are a couple of songs already up on this channel, including a contemporary one of Dimash singing 'SOS' where he's staying in Astana during the pandemic. Dimash's last name starts with a K or a Q in the Latin alphabet, depending on how it's translated. So DQ is an alternate spelling for his initials. Enjoy!

Same message as well, I suppose, that Dimash would like to bring to the hearts of people around the world when he sang his previous songs like: WAR AND PEACE AND WE ARE THE WORLD. My appeal to the listening public worldwide to obey rules and regulations lay down by the Government and the Department of Health in their own country and The World Health Organization for our own good and safety. Friends … Courage and do not be afraid … and continue to pray in faith and in hope that … everything will put back into place in God’s own time. I believe … God triumphs over evil.
