This 3D video from Clínica Médico Dental Pardiñas (j.mp/cPardinas) shows the different elements used in orthodontic treatment, including brackets, elastics, microscrews etc.
Different movements used in orthodontics in order to achieve a successful treatment are also described.
If left untreated, many orthodontic problems get worse. Orthodontic reatment by a specialist to correct the original treatment often costs less than the additional dental treatments that are required to treat more serious problems that may appear in later years.
Orthodontic treatment is always a change for the better, regardless of your age. The biological processes involved in dental movements are the same in adults as they are in children. The health of your teeth, gums and bones is the most important factor in determining the possible results of orthodontic treatment.
As an adult’s face bones no longer grow, some corrections cannot be achieved by using orthodontic devices, but may also require orthognathic surgery. Impressive facial changes can be achieved with a combination of surgery and orthodontics. Should you require this type of treatment, your specialist will explain all of the different procedures to be carried out.
The use of mini plates and micro screws is very present in orthodontic treatments, but they are not mandatory in all cases.

Braces are more permanent than clear molds/invisiline. Had braces for 4-5 years, my teeth are still straight 10 years later. As long as you have a wire retainer, your teeth stay straight.
That's not true, I had a wire retainer for my bottom teeth but they moved forward, not backwards so I had nothing stopping them from moving forward, have bracers for the second time on just my bottom row of teeth.

you're Right. I survived 2 teeth extractions but i don't think i can bear this sheer pain after i got my elastics put on with my braces. Its like every inch of my head felt the pain. I couldn't eat speak or even drink properly for a week. After a week, you think pain would go away but you just have to accept your fate and get used to it.

Update for people who wanna know how’d it go: it hurt like hell. I can’t eat solid food because the next day it hurts a lot. I relay on soft foods like smoothies or bread. I have a special gum or wax to help with sharp edges which bother my gums. So far I’m ok :)

im sure you will be fine, you most likely won’t even have the drills done. the drills are placed there to make space for the teeth upfront so it can become straight. this is only if you have like no space in the front to get your teeth straighter

@@craigeditss oh, I read some more comments that day, so I remember they give you anesthesia (just hospitals I think) also the drill thing is only for when your gums don't have space for the teeth, so most people don't need it.
I wish I had braces. That would reduce the amount of bullying I would of received throughout my elementary school years. Now I’m a 12th grader in high school. That scar me through out my entire jr high and high school years. I been called anywhere from beaver to Bucky. I get judged by my appearance on a daily basis. But people don’t realize I couldn’t pick through my genes and choose what to change.

Braces do not hurt guys I’m about 3 yrs in and I must say I was nervous as hell when I first got them . It’s very uncomfortable your first couple of weeks because it feels like your teeth are huge lol But once you had them for a while and your teeth actually starts shifting your mouth does become sore. I must say the the tightning (getting band color changed) does hurt a bit but it’s tolerable . you won’t be able to eat the good food you’re used to eating for a couple of days after getting them tighten unless you’re a physco who really likes pain lol moral of the story is beauty is pain so suck it up because you will not regret the outcome 😬👌🏽

For anyone getting braces I just got mine and nothing hurt, people over react, just be responsible. And also the procedure of putting them on is not painful whatsoever. In fact I recommend asking them to tell you what they are gonna do next because I found it really interesting.

being a dentist and a person with braces lemme say its not same for everyone. it can hurt for some while others don't.i tightened yesterday and couldn't evn bite onto a banana🙄🙄🙄so that's not over reaction. quite normal
True, it didn't hurt for a whole damn year until i got my one of my bottom central incisor removed and now while tightening the lateral incisor(to close the gap) and canine beside it, it freakin' hurts like a bitch! I guess it varies as per the case

Ive heard it aches loads once the anasthetic wears off because if the tightness. I know the drilling and stuff doesn't hurt because I've had a filling before and you only feel a little vibration.

Omg my procedure to getting braces was so annoying, I had baby a baby tooth on top of my adult tooth which had to be pulled out. I then had my four wisdoms pulled (I was not put to sleep, they just numbed my mouth by injection, and no it did not hurt at all) but the aftermath of having my wisdom teeth pulled out sucked! my face started to bruise and swell up a lot lol, I couldn’t eat anything(I was super freaking hungry for 4 days) then I went back and had my premolars pulled out because I have an overbite and it would’ve made the bottom braces fall off. Finally I got my braces on about 2 weeks ago, they first put the top ones then day before yesterday I finally got my bottom ones! and I’ll be honest for everyone who’s about to get them, eat as many chips and hard food that you like, because once they’re on it’s had to bite hard foods I mean as I’m writing this my bottom teeth feel super weak lol anyways good luck! I’d love to hear others brace experience 🖤

got my braces yesterday... the actual attachment of the braces didnt hurt, but a few hours after, my teeth ached and were kind of sore. cant eat anything rn, even rice, i just swallowed them up with soup LOL. ate some leche flan (milk pudding), and even that hurt. i hope i get to adjust soon enough huhu
I intend to get a dental implant but I was told that I have to fix my bite where I clench and some crooked teeth so they advised me to go to an orthodontist and get braces before I can opt for a dental implant. Is it possible to get a dental implant for my 1st molar and have braces too? I don’t want the orthodontist to fix the gap because I still want to fix my tooth.

I got braces last 3 days and i don't feel pain, it feels like there's a rock infront of my teeth. And it feels weird when you talk it's just a little pressure on your gums... But its not that bad at all☺️ You'll have a hard time to eat at the first three days cause your teeth are trying to adjust, just eat soft foods and brush your teeth often☺️

Thank you, I think this is very useful..the main reason for teeth braces is due to improper distribution of stress due to blood flow in these areas, and weakness so if we can or shall meditate and practice mindfulness and ensure proper distribution of blood flow all over the body, then we can or shall reduce longterm effects of chemical solutions for gap removal like teeth plasticising etc we can or should use more natural products like danth kanthi chew slowly and digest properly, diluted lemon juice, fruit pastes mint leaves just like face pack etc, thank you
This sounds like the biggest load of hocus pocus. I have a PhD in neuropharmacology and have done two fellowships in immunology, so trust me when I say this isn't right. While I admit mindfulness and eastern medicine have their place in complimenting western medicine, they are NOT going to fix your crooked teeth. Nor is lack of blood flow the reason you have crooked teeth. There can be all kinds of reasons including small face/jaw due to genetics, thumb/pacifier sucking, injury, early loss of baby or adult teeth. Even normal aging is a cause! Mostly it's genetic causes. TLDR: lack of blood flow does not cause crooked teeth nor will meditation fix/prevent it!

You will be fine! It doesn’t hurt at all until later when it’s feels kinda uncomfortable, but For the first few days I just ate Jelly (or Jello if your from the US) potato’s, rice, Minced beef (obviously not on its own), pasta, yogurt, Cheese, (most dairy products) and anything that you could easily cut with a knife 😊👌 If I particularly missed sweet snacks, I would have a bit of cake or suck on chocolate 👍 Hope this helped! ☺️

I also take this treatment a few days ago and not fell a little pain I was very nervous before this treatment but my nervousness was totally wasted when doctors apply braces because its really painless It was so relief to have such a painless treatment 🥰🥰

Lucky I don't have gaps at the back of my upper teeth. Although I do have gaps in the front of my upper teeth, they have to pull the tooth down. And I have gaps between my bottom teeth.
