Welcome to chicago Taylor! Summer here is amazing but a lot of things don’t kick off until end of may/June. Check out Tuesday on the terrace for jazz music at the MCA, the millennium park schedule for free music/movies with a picnic, the neighbor street festivals. Plenty of free museum days. Lincoln park Zoo is also free. The botanical gardens. Second City for comedy shows. Boystown on the weekends for drag brunch. Chinatown, old and new. There’s so much! Hope you decide to extend your stay!
Born and raised in Chicago here! Suggestions: Chicago Mural Tour, Sears Tower (Willis Tower), Gino's East (Thin Crust), Pilsen Neighborhood, Cafe Colao (Puerto Rican Coffee and Pressed Breakfast Sandwiches), El Cubanito (Empanadas/Pastelillos, Best Cuban Coffee), Logan Square Farmers Market, Chicago Riverwalk, Any Chicago Museum, Imperial Restaurant in Chinatown (Dim Sum), A Paleta at any Michoacana, Morton Arboretum, Tiffany Dome in the Chicago Cultural Center, Garfield Park Conservatory, Obama Kissing Rock, Wicker Park, Stained Glass Museum at Navy Pier, Hot Doug's. This is where I would start and I highly suggest Luis Gusto's channel for Chicago suggestions. :)
You have to try Quartino! The tasting menu is so fun, charcuterie on steroids! The sangria is delicious! Rebar for the view and delicious cocktails, ask for a pink affair. It's no longer on the menu, last we were there, but they still make it for me. Ocean Prime for seafood. Bavettes is EVERYTHING! Chicago Q if you want a fun brunch with a southern BBQ flair. Steak 48 for the best beef and giant crab legs! Enjoy your time in Chicago!
I felt the same about Native…For health reasons I had no choice but to switch to natural… I literally STUNK so bad for a solid few weeks. Like wishing I didnt have to be in the same room as myself lol. I was resolved to thinking I would just have to live smelling disgusting. Then one day I woke up and realized I didn’t stink anymore! Now I love Native and I’ll never go back and it works just fine. I realized the deodorant was causing the BO to an extent! If you’re willing to give it another go and stick it out for those few weeks I don’t think you would regret it, Taylor! 😊
I've lived in Chicago since 2007. Not sure if you're a big thrifter (or where you're staying) but the Village Discount on Milwaukke Ave and the Unique on Elston are my faves. Restaurants: Chief O'Neill's is a super Irish pub with gooood food. Cute traditional interior too. The Signature Lounge at the 96th floor has the most beautiful view of the city at night. Grab a cocktail (or a pop if you're avoiding alcohol) and take some selfies. All the Indian food here is good as hell. I can't remember the best restaurants-but shoot your shot. I hope you love your stay here and have fun! And thanks for your recommendations. :) (long time subscriber and viewer) Best, DJ
I lived in Chicago until senior year of high school. I now am in AZ but visit at least once a year. This time of year is the best time to be there. Hope you enjoy the city!
I grew up in the Chicago suburbs my whole life and just moved away 3 years ago. Let me tell you how much I miss the food 😂 You need to try a Chicago pan pizza! One of my favorites is Lou Malnatis if you can find one near you. My husband says there is a place in Chicago called Home of the Hoagie that has awesome sandwiches. Also a really good. We loved Sawa's old Warsaw buffet. Really good polish food buffet style!
Welcome to Chicago! Although I don't live in the city I'm about an hour away in the far northwest suburbs. You came at the best time of the year in my opinion. Enjoy your time here.
Omg me too!!! I can only wear men’s deodorant!! And even then hardly any work! I’ve tried ever natural deodorant and WOOOOOAAAA NOOOO! Good too know I’m not the only one
Welcome to Chi-town. I'm a suburbanite now but still know the city well enough. You're here at a time when summer kind of starts there. Lots of things going on. Definitely get a true Chicago hot dog (no ketchup!), my recs would be either Superdawg or Gene and Jude's in River Grove(legendary). Chicago pizza: For deep dish, my fave is Gino's East. For thin crust I'd suggest Piece in the Wicker Park neighborhood. If you're OK with crowds people love Mayfest in the Lincoln Park neighborhood (5/20-5/22) - Lots of local food vendors and live music. If you're still around Memorial Day weekend hit up somewhere around Navy Pier - they start doing fireworks on Saturdays and Wednesdays, beginning that weekend. Looking forward to more vlogs. Thanks for sharing your travels with us!
Since you're in a lip mood could you compare the tarte juicy lip vs. glossier ultra lip vs. make up by Mario juicy glow vs. Em cosmetics cushion lip? They all seem really similar but the price ranges quite a bit, would love your opinion on this!
Taylor, you should retry the este lauder double wear concealer! I have really creasy under eyes like you mentioned and it does not crease! It’s the only one I’ve found that holds us on my under eye!
I absolutely love your new makeup colors. I know you prefer the darker warmer shades on your eyes, but these lighter neutral colors look so fabulous on you!
I hope you enjoy my hometown! I'm from the North Side (Albany Park, represent!), and I hope you get to experience all the great things Chicago has to offer. You MUST go to Leona's on Irving Park for a Chicago-style thin crust pizza. It's far superior to deep-dish, and whenever people ask me for a Chicago pizza recommendation, that's what I give them. Also, check out the Museum Campus if you get a chance. That's the Adler Planetarium, the Shedd Aquarium, and the Field Museum. Navy Pier is also a lot of fun, and go on the Ferris Wheel!
Hi Taylor, I am at the hospital after lumbar fusion surgery 🤕😔 Thinking about you because of your surgery, now we have something in common (titanium 😃). Thank you for beeing here for us. Sending love from Slovakia ❤❤
I'd love to see your recommendations for other non-alcoholic beverages. I too enjoy the taste of alcohol or a unique cocktail, but I don't enjoy hangovers, dry skin, or breakouts afterwards lol
Excited to see what you get in to in my hometown of Chicago! Looking forward to moving back in a few years myself (although I did not anticipate winding up living in New Orleans when I initially left, and now it will be bittersweet to leave here). Anyway, I used to love Eva NYC's mousse for a hot minute until they discontinued it (of course). I believe Eva NYC and Amika brands are owned by the same company, so that might explain the same scents that they use. Planning on giving some more of their products a try- thank you for your recommendations! (But also no thank you, because I definitely shop more when I watch your videos ha)
I used that Bed Head styling cream all through high-school, (which was embarrassingly like 20 yrs ago lol) and it was my favorite! It always made my hair soft and also helped curls stay if I curled my hair. It's a great OG product from their line! I love your raves and rejects videos so much! Also welcome to Chicago, it's awesome to have you in our great city, I hope you have an amazing stay and the weather is somewhat consistent while you're here lol! 💗💗💗
I swear all ur videos make me add to cart add to cart add to cart! Sooooo many things I need. Definitely needing a new facial razor. I thought I liked the tinkle ones but they suck once I used the Sephora collection ones but those have been outta stock for awhile
OMG try the Beauty Counter The Clean Deo in the scent Soft Lavender! It’s the ONLY natural deodorant that works. I’ve been on a journey to find one for literally years
@@julieme7927 lol ikr 😂 I live here in Chicago and the weathers not even great. It’s been winter for like 8 months. Like it feels like 30 degree in May… but that might be because of the wind and I live by the lake but idk the weather is horrible here especially since the public transportation sucks and will have you waiting in the cold forever and of course the bad crime. Don’t let people fool you.. Chicago is not where it’s at. Gorgeous city but everything else is horrible.

petra de vries from the netherlands. i never use self tanners. i never no what kind of color i have to try. i go for natural tan. but if it makes people happy and find the right color go for it. Taylor love your vlogs. hope to seen more of them next weeks where are you goiing to live.
Always so full of great info!!! So crazy that you had an audience!! 😅😅 I hope you continue to enjoy Chicago!! We're two hours West of there!! It's a great city to have close!! I appreciate your content how easily you express your thoughts!! Hope your health is good...... I'm still in a massive struggle phase!! Thanks for all the great videos!!! I’m a old spice girl too strictly for the smell & it lasts longer but I don’t sweat much & love the comment section on your videos always postive & helpful 💜
Hi Taylor❣️ Even if your video is 30+ minutes, I’ll watch it before anything else. Excellent reviews on great products, many of which I have too. Sorry to see the ColourPop palette didn’t work….good to know. Have you tried the new Mac mascara? Super hyped, but I’m still skeptical . I hope you have a great time in Chicago….I’ve only been during the winter when I was on a gig, but I still loved it❣️💯
I felt exactly the same about the marshmellow primer. At first I was like eh. And then I found myself reaching for it daily. I don’t know how to explain it but it’s just understatedly good.
You must try Portillo’s. We are also famous for our deep dish pizza of course but…. our thin crust is the best too. Note- Native Chicagoans still call the Sear’s tower, Sear’s tower, and not Willis tower. You will score huge bonus points if you refer to it as such. Hope you like it here!
Hi Taylor , re deodorant ☺️ I am the one who sweats and my BO is not a pleasant situation 😋 no other way to put it . BUT for a year now I have been using glycolic acid or hypochlorus spray instead of antiperspirant stick. I do follow with a deodorant spray just for the scent after shower. I am using the Inkey List glycolic acid toner underarms , just transferred it into an old roll on recipient. A couple of passes and is all it takes to keep my BO at bay 🙌🏼 Also before gym I like to use a hypochlorus spray and is as if is not me after I finish the workout 😉 no smell at all ! Yes I do sweat but no BO with it 👍 Give it a try …
I love that bed head product! I also apply after I towel dry my hair and makes my hair so soft. I sometimes apply it in conjunction with their thickening cream (round purple bottle)
You look stunninggggg in this video! As always, but especially here! ❤️ and sidenote- I have never found a primer that I feel does anything. Now I can not do my makeup without the Marshmellow primer!! It just makes my makeup look amazinggggg 🎉
Bed Head After party has been great in my hair so far. Thanks for the rec on that and the E.L.F camo powder. Love you Taylor!! You videos are starting to be ASMR for me
Finally catching up after what feels like weeks 😩 I'm so excited to see the Chicago content!! I've only been on very short trips in the winter but I loved it so I hope you like it too! Also, definitely going to try some of these products, the sheer top looks perfecttt
Omg I have been trying to get that make up revolution under eye primer since the first time you ever mentioned it… I can’t get my hands on that thing anywhere. Also I was at target the other day and saw that NYX have mini primers, all the new primers that they came out with have minis which I think is just so awesome because who really ever uses a whole full size primer like unless you only have one primer you use everyday …
Just wanted to drop in some recs for Chicago. Rose Mary: Croatian restaurant is amazing. Monteverde: meatballs are amazing. Lazy bird: a true vibe bar- my fav.
You have to try to Arm and Hammer Essentials Deodorant in Rosemary Lavender, it’s chefs kiss!!!!!! Im the same way with natural deodorants, but it’s super affordable and it works! Been using for 3+ years and has never stained my clothes. Hope you try it!
We don’t drink alcohol mainly for religious purposes but I’m one of those who absolutely loves the taste of it. I’ve never gotten drunk or even drank an entire cocktail. I’ve only tried sips here and there and loved it but I just cannot consume it due to my faith. Your last vlog with this alternative convinced me to get it and try it! I LOVE IT!!!!!! It’s VERY similar in mixed drinks like you said. Absolutely delicious and an option I can consume! 👏 Thank you so much for your recommendations!! 💗
You could be a model. You're so pretty. I love your makeup especially today. You should wear a pinky look more often. Also raves and rejects are my favorite so I clicked this video immediately when I saw it.
So the self tanner from Ulta I got last year from your recommendation and just a heads up, they changed the packaging! At least in store. It's gray/silver but it's the same product, I don't believe they reformulated. I wear for 4 hours bc that's what you had said to do last year and it gives a beautiful tan. But I agree by day 5 it starts looking ify. Need to try the Elf Camo powder! That's next on my list!
I started using an AHA, specifically the Ordinary Glycolic Toner, every day now before applying deodorant. It's been over two years now and it has made such a drastic difference for me!
Omg I’ve been using that hair product from TIGI since I was 14! It’s amazing and if you go out to a bar and you put that in your hair the next day your hair smells amazing literally it will take out any bad send in your hair hair!! As a professional hairstylist it is a good product and it smells amazing it’s a very very lightweight smoothing product!!! This product is not for superfine hair .
First of all, you’re absolutely glowing in this video Taylor!! Second, I noticed you talk about BO. And as a woman I too really struggle with this problem. I will use a deodorant for a little bit and my body somehow becomes immune to it so I have to switch scents/find something stronger. I’m very scared to have others catch a wiff so please please help a girl out and tell us how you work with this problem/what products really work for us. 😭🙏🏼
I've been trying to get my sister to stop tanning (the dangers of it- she's been doing it WAY too long), as well as being a pale redhead, I would absolutely LOVE for you to do a self tanner raves and regrets as well as your self tan routine. You was my shade before tanner so I would really be excited if you could do this! Yours always looks so natural and not streaky.
i’m a pale redhead as well and she realllllyyyyyy needs to stop unless melanoma is a fun time to her. st tropez watermelon self tanner is my favorite. it’s the only one i’ve tried that doesn’t turn me orange and isn’t splotchy. it doesn’t stain clothes or sheets or anything and smells pretty good. it also won’t really break the bank i think it’s about $20 but probably cheaper on amazon tbh
@@julie.or.whatever she won't listen 😭 She's a dirty blonde but has been tanning at the same place for so long they let her freaking do the lay down bed for 30 minutes! Over 20 is illegal. She doesn't do skincare at all. I'll admit I tanned for a few months not thinking skin cancer was so bad till a mole shifted shapes. Then I dug into it and it was scary. I have skin checks every 6 months and wear sunscreen religiously. This was over 7 years ago and I've been trying to convince her since. She just won't listen 😭 I'm gonna try to start self tanner here soon and HOPEFULLY she sees how good it can look and quits. She's 35 and has been tanning for over 10 years 🥺
@@jessicasbeautyaddiction3192 she’s going to look 70 when she’s 45 and regret it so bad…. as my dad says if you’re gonna be dumb you gotta be tough… and that’s exactly what her skin will be, tough. like leather 😭😭 also i’d report the salon that’s just messed up!!
I gave up on natural deodorant too. But Lume works!! It won’t stop you from sweating but you literally won’t stink for days. I use it on my kids too (tweens are smelly!) Worth a try! Get the lotion type, as weird as that sounds. It works the best.
I live on the border of IL and WI, about an in-between Milwaukee and Chicago and I really want to go to the city and meet you but I feel like it comes off super creepy Lmfao! But the weather is FINALLY getting nice so I hope you enjoy it!!! ♥️🌯♥️
When I lived in Chicago (early 80s) we loved to go to ethnic restaurants. I'm sure those may be gone, but it's a great city for diversity, so you should be able to find the ones that are popular now. Mucho envy. Loved living in Chicago. Am in the Seattle area now (15 years in the city itself). Enjoying your travels and all your videos.
I love the bed head product!! I use to use it on dry hair and I loved that it would make my hair soft and leave a good scent. After seeing your video, I use it before too and I’m even more obsessed!!
Yay so glad to see this!! Look forward to all your recommendations and purchase alot of the Affordable ones. Cant wait to see your Chicago vlogs.I love seeing all your travels😃❤🤗
Best pizza (not Chicago style) is Piece Pizza. Also I know you said you cant drink much but the violet hour is a really cool speakeasy. Both are in wicker park.
I’ve never been this early!! Also, so happy you’re in Chicago and especially this week with this amazing weather we are having lol. Starting the day off right with a Taylor video! Love getting your recommendations always spot on!
You look like black-haired Barbie! Love this simple makeup on you and it screams ready for summer! The tan looks awesome on you too!
I find myself going for a more minimal natural look the closer it gets to summer to.
Yes to this
Agreed. I tend to go with warm brown eye shadow colors in the summer and my lighter and brighter lipsticks. And more light and medium pink as opposed to my mauve, berry, and red lipsticks that I wear in the winter.

Your makeup in this video looks absolutely beautiful!
Is this giveaway legit? I don’t remember you mentioning a giveaway in your video.
Now this tan on your is gorgeous!!! Love it ✨
Yes, the St Moriz (sp?) tan looks fab in this video ❤️
Wow the lighting, the tan, the colors everything looks so so beautiful!! Can’t wait for Chicago vlogs!
YAY CHICAGO! Welcome to the city! hope you love it!
I love that bed head product! I also apply after I towel dry my hair and makes my hair so soft. I sometimes apply it in conjunction with their thickening cream (round purple bottle)
Love your lashes with this mascara. i love the look of no eyeliner. Bright eyed look is so pretty.
You videos are starting to be ASMR for me
I got your candle 🕯 trio for Mother’s Day and love them! Great job 👏🏻.
So happy you love them! Happy Mother’s Day!!
Love your work !
Finally catching up after what feels like weeks 😩 I'm so excited to see the Chicago content!! I've only been on very short trips in the winter but I loved it so I hope you like it too!
Also, definitely going to try some of these products, the sheer top looks perfecttt
The Eva NYC line is chefs kiss 💋 it saved my hair and the smell oh my gosh 🥰
Would love to see your opinion on the KVD contour gel. It looks like it would be the perfect shade/formula for us pale princesses
This is (by far) my favorite makeup look of yours. It suits you. Looks so pretty. Soft, and pink. 👍💗👍
You are looking amazing!!!! Happy!!
Primally pure deo. No getting used to. Just works amazing!
Wow! Her skin looks freaking gorgeous today. It always looks good but especially so today. 😊
I absolutely love your job.
Try Lume. I’m like you in having to try different deodorants. Been alternating between the salt rock and Lume for a while now.
Seems legit. 🤔🙄
I live on the border of IL and WI, about an in-between Milwaukee and Chicago and I really want to go to the city and meet you but I feel like it comes off super creepy Lmfao! But the weather is FINALLY getting nice so I hope you enjoy it!!! ♥️🌯♥️
You look so good. Liking this tanner color on you!!
appreciate the pink gloss swatches!!
Did I miss your review on the cream palette?the salt New York palette?
Best pizza (not Chicago style) is Piece Pizza. Also I know you said you cant drink much but the violet hour is a really cool speakeasy. Both are in wicker park.
Love your videos! I always look forward to them!
I’ve never been this early!! Also, so happy you’re in Chicago and especially this week with this amazing weather we are having lol. Starting the day off right with a Taylor video! Love getting your recommendations always spot on!
