Huge De Palma fan, avoided this one because I’m not usually into rock operas/musicals/etc. finally sat down with a friend to watch it last night, absolutely blown away. If someone out there is listening to this without having seen the film, don’t be like me. Don’t put it off, slide it up the watchlist. A masterpiece and one of De Palma’s best!

He can play the keyboards and the guitar pretty darn good anyways all that said he's the one, with my big bro, that really got me interested into rock/prog rock or wtv like just listening to some good old classics and vibin👌👌

Don't know why but I sing this song to my pet pigeon, i replace every "man" with "pigeon", and call the song "The rise of pigeon king" and he simply loves it. When I start singing he starts his pigeon dance.
The closest Paul ever came to glam & metal! Touches of Alice Cooper & pre-Bat out of Hell! Thought it was such a stretch for him to play a boozing drug taking partying type.....then I found out later... he really WAS like that! & like most took it too far. Glad he's clean now!
I didn't know any of that until I saw the documentary Paul Williams Still Alive. It really surprised me. Am happy he cleaned up his act (and in the same year I was born, 1990)

You can hear the influence that this and "Phantom's Theme" almost certainly had on the Andrew Lloyd Webber Phantom riff. A lot of hubbub is made about it being potentially derived from Pink Floyd's "Echoes", and it is *very* close, but considering the shared subject matter and musical similarities, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the chief inspiration.
