It will cost me 500.00 to purchase so I’m not sure if I want to pay that much. If it doesn’t work well.
I use it after I use the acid to back up and check my findings. I still use it and think it is another way to confirm the acid results. Thanks for watching.

For Sweet Lilly's platinum chain, it looks like SRI PT NYC (all run together); if this is the case it's Sri Lankan Platinum destination NYC. (I took a screenshot and used a BW filter. Also, a blacklight would help tone down the shine to get a better reading of the lettering 😉)

I know there are a few white metals that don't work with acid well I think aluminum, nickel, and steel if I remember correctly so I wonder if the same issue can happen with the key tester. After looking at your video I'm definitely going to start looking into this much more though I'm also looking at one of those insanely expensive xray machines I just keep hoping to find an alternative cheaper machine and this one looks promising

I dont think that to be platinum...it needs to be deeply scratched into with your file...i have had many bracelets that tested gold but when cut into the center was not gold...for info only not to downgrade a possible fabulous find..also it could be made in a foreign country the way its made without the links soldered i would never had believe it to be real...hopefully its real.
Yes, It is signed Hong Kong, so we know it was made there. But it is unusual with the light gold wash. We will keep researching and do an update once we find more information. Thanks for watching!!!
Sometimes, if it’s gold plated, it’ll still read 14 karat gold so sometimes it makes mistakes or you just Gotta keep checking it and if it reads a lot of places fake it’s fake it’s just plated gold but it does pick up the gold contacts in it if it’s played it

Nice job. I loved this video. However, please use an 18K YELLOW Gold calibration piece (do you have an earring back or jump ring)? If not, I will send you one at no charge. When you calibrate with white gold alloyed 18K, your normal yellow will be skewed a bit. So, it is important you use yellow gold 18 unfinished piece to calibrate, and do not ever calibrate with white gold. Those earrings are 750 gold. Simply clean a skinny area, entry point with pumice or file, and you will see that it is 18, not 22. Also, follow my Top 5 Testing Tips Sheet (extremely important and easy to read) so that your Kee is working perfectly. Contact me 24/7 for free KEE Support.

I’m really confused. You clearly said the big chain was silver underneath so how come it didn’t fail the acid test? I’ve seen other tests of plated rings and it immediately dissolved. I’m watching because I have a gold tester I got in a metal detector deal that looks like this brand. I wonder if fine chain links like the earrings don’t conduct current properly?

So I assume the platinum chain is hollow with gold plating? It sounded hollow. Platinum is a very heavy metal. The gold tester seems faster to get results than doing the acid test. 👍🏻

what does the grey color stand for if the red color states that it not gold?
The gray when tested turns blue if Sterling and if disappears just silver tone. Thanks for watching!
Everybody has their own way of doing things and I just started watching your video but I just wanted to mention with the Hong Kong piece you said you're going to test it with your acid just so you don't waste acid I test with my magnet obviously fit sticks it's all good if it doesn't stick then I go further and break out the acid

I would bet your ring is on the low end of 18k so other things may test higher
I was informed that 18K White Gold doesn't test the same as the Yellow 18K on the Kee Gold Tester. So changed over to using a 18K Gold piece to calibrate and it tests so much better. Thanks for watching!

VERY IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ!
SHR’S TOP 5 KEE TESTING TIPS
1. Calibrate your KEE Tester with the enclosed 18K YELLOW gold Stuller earring back. Place it down on the test plate. Lightly touch it with the uncapped, fiber tip pen probe, and adjust the calibration knob so that the needle falls in the center of the 18K range. Please keep the18KY calibration sample with your KEE Tester at all times.
2. “SNAP’ the pen probe cap tightly closed after testing the item or items. NOT DOING SO WILL DRY OUT THE FIBER TIP AND SUBSTANTIALLY DECREASE THE LIFE OF THE PEN PROBE. Replacement probes are regularly $65 USD.
3. Please confirm your meter needle resting settings are correct! The needle should rest on or near the first black line when the unit is powered off. The needle should rest on or near the last black line when then unit is powered on.
4. Gently Clean with the pumice cap a skinny area (avoid fat areas as the high karat and fake finishes will lead to a false positive). For example, 10-Karat Yellow will test low 14 if you do not gently clean a skinny area so that the high karat finish is erased.
ON HEAVY PIECES, A FILE SHOULD BE USED TO CLEAN THE SMALL AREA FOR TESTING. REMEMBER, THE AREA THAT YOU CLEAN WILL FACE UP TOWARD YOU WHEN IT IS ON THE SILVER CONDUCTOR PLATE SOTHAT THE PROBE TOUCHES THAT CLEANED AREA.
5. Use only light pressure on the pen probe when testing. Excessive pressure will cause the fiber tip to distort, which can shorten the pen probe life.
