Hello from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada! (formerly known as Berlin until 1916) Love the boogie and the swing! Funny name joke - I knew some local German guys in a rock band they called "The Wurst" ;-)
God-damned rocked it!! Alex, very perfect playing! This is coming from a 55 year old player, that is me , a 65 year old man tomorrow, the 19th of September. For all who is interested, it is the death-day of Jimi Hendrix today, the 18th of September. God Love Everybody!
OH, MANNNN!! Alex Shultz is swingin' off the chandeliers, slayin' it!!! Left me smiling ear to ear! They're all b-b-b-bad to the bone! I'm gonna be studying and lifting some licks off of Alex for sure! I'm so glad I discovered him....I hope I get to see him and his band in person some day 😎👍🏻🎸 WOW!
Left me smiling ear-to-ear as well totally lit me up. I've always refer to songs groove Melodies that do that to you as happy to be alive music. This makes me happy to be alive bless you guys stay healthy got to go break out my Gretsch 6120 and learn those licks man it's too good.
@@celebrityimpressionstogo I actually named my next two albums, CDs happy to be alive Music Volume 1 and happy to be alive Music Volume 2. I play guitar bass drums and have other musicians as well playing Blues swaying Funk jazz country rockabilly. It's all there in all fun. And every song is Happy to Be Alive music.

True. Jimi Hendrix was OVERRATED as all get out! I've heard countless guitar players who were better, including Alex Schultz, who was one of the very, very best players of his generation.
This must be the same Alex Schultz that I once heard en saw playing in Sneek - in the north of Holland - around 1995 as a member of The Red Devils, the blues group formed around the late Lester Butler. It was a great show then, but a quite different kind of blues.
Yes Harry, one and the same here ;-) I certainly don't blame you for wondering, as you're correct- the two are about 180 degrees apart although it is, as Miles said "All Blues". That was technically "Lester Butler and Thirteen" that you saw, not the Red Devils (of course). But I remember the gig in Sneek well. Cold and windy but great to see the north NL. I still do the Lester music w/ Big Pete from NL, we were just in Edmonton Blues fest in Aug. with some of the original guys from 13.
These guys are pretty good with a little more practice today we'll almost have something. LOL sarcasm. That f****** s*** just made me so happy what a tasty in the pocket Groove and what a great way to start my day today. Going to have to break out my Gretsch 6120 and Woodshed those licks. For real
HI Misha, it's Alex- at that time that was a hand wound P-90 type pickup built to fit into the Humbucker mount. It was made for me by John Carruthers in Los Angeles. Now you can get that type of pickup from many companies, Lollar, Fralin, Duncan etc etc. Since then I now trying a Lollar Charlie Christian type (for HB mount) in that guitar. But the pickup that was in at the time of this clip was/ is great. Thanks for listening..
@@schultzvil thanks Alex! Ive been checking out your music quite a bit the last few days. You're a hell of a player and i'm really digging your touch and your tone!

well you have a point, but the cool thing is, it's HIS gig so this just happens to be my one feature of the set; the rest of the show he is the featured player, and he's a killer, killer pianist. But on this one, he's just supporting me- very generous!

I don't think even Jimi would have played this gem this good. Super performance. Man, this band just nailed it beautifully.
This music is great but Jimi wasn't doing much that resembled what came before, he was creating a whole different thing!!!

Very "tasty" tune called "Zwiebelrostbraten" 😉
Riff at 2:27 was sweet!

There are really very few people black or white that can play like this these days and I mean as nuanced as Alex.
Shortcut 1:35
Yeah....straight to the music.
Check out Hollywood Fats if you to hear the best
Ha I'm with you, bro! Nobody could touch Fats. I'm just doing what I can with it! I got to see Fats at least 3 or 4 times and I would agree ;-)
Is schultzvil Alex?
From an earlier comment, I'm assuming it is. In that case, your reply to Mister Dunlap is all class. I love to hear Fats, and your music too. Thanks!
What key is this is it C
Drummer I see your technique…the baddies swing the lightest.
6:17 What is that chord? - Anyone?
Ninth chords!
Song is in key of C so that chord is Cm6(notes A & Eb) while bass goes in C major etc.
