Hey all! Forgive me for any errors and my speech issues, cranked this video out in 6 hours. I hope you enjoy it!
You good man, we will always love your content.😊
On note on the lovely white pre order armor, it got a version in the progression system, so even without special edition, or pre order it's still possible to get. It might be one of the best armors though.
I just wish it was longer. Girthier. Went Harder
Greetings fellow super Earthman. As a fellow helldiver I just want to let you know that this game is awesome. Also the different types of armor are not just for cosmetics. They have they have different abilities
Great video but I have unrelated question: do you voice audiobooks by any chance? :) I listen to lots of audiobooks and your voice reminds me someone. BTW, if you don’t, you should give it a try, you have perfect voice for it. If I was an author, I would have paid shitload of money to someone with your voice to voice it :)
“You know this is propaganda right?”
“And it worked! Triple the Defense Budget!”
I am doing my part!!
@@fernandozavaletabustos205 For Liberty! For managed democracy!
Since it wasn’t mentioned we do know that vehicles (and mechs) are coming. They even finished a trailer by showing off the Exo 44
Woops, I didn't know! Thanks for the info.
i wonder if they make it so the robots can hack the mech and make it blow up or start trying to kill your team mates
By god....
I'm feeling patriotic
Yep, the wrecked models for some of the exos are already in the game as well. You can find them on some of the maps. They are big and cool looking, even as old devastated wrecks.
@@davids2cents594 it at least explains why their bases have AT cannons @_@ I already thought those were a little overkill for 4 morons on foot
It’s both awesome and hilarious to me the sheer amount that this game has blown up compared to the first. To put it in perspective: the first game had a max all-time high of 6,000 players. The sequel?
*Well it’s around 136k currently, at the time of writing and that’s not even including the PlayStation players*
The devs have had to pull MULTIPLE 12 HOUR DAYS JUST TO MITIGATE SERVER ISSUES. I’m so happy that this game was successful and can’t wait to see what’s added to it in the future.
Was playing hell divers one with my mates in January and I believe I only saw 600 most at one time
The devs said the servers went down because they had at a time 365000 players at once at one time, bye bye servers.
A lot of passion and effort went into making it and it really shows. Turns out, customers love that shit. _Glares at Ubisoft and Skull and Bones_
hard as hell to get through the BLACK SCREEN OF WAITING right now! 400k + on the servers.
Hopefully employees aren’t being forced to work harder than they want to. Don’t want them to be crunched out of a project they originally liked.
When the announcer said : "managed democracy " i was laughing my ass off
First thought was how redundant it was to say.
@@dansmith16 this game is big on that. If you’re loading up the online setting and it’s taking a minute, the game literally tells you to pls wait democratically.
Yeah, the lore is quite interesting. “Managed “”democracy””” is basically where a voting machine votes FOR someone.
Finally dealing with fascism's pesky image problem! Praise liberty or else!!!
@@Rain_lights It's the liberty to make the right choice.
I dove into a ditch underneath a bile titan and shot up to it on my back with a recoiless rifle and killed it. Causing it to fall on top of me and my friend, crushing us. This is now my favorite game ever. It takes me back to when playing video games were actually fun and not a chore
This is just like Risk of Rains evolution from 2D to 3D. Lots of people thought it was a wild and risky change but it was handled beautifully. Helldiver's 2 is so damn smooth and handles like a dream.
Diving backwards away from the dual chainsword maniacs as they sprint at you swinging is honestly the most badass moment I've had in gaming in a long time
oRRRR. Diving to the side while you time the chargers charge at you.
@@WWE2KUNIVERSEELITE OOOOOOORRR diving as you shoot the thing that’s charging you like you’re in a John woo film, killing it in the process.

Diving backwards in general and letting loose an entire mag of the Machine Gun is badass
This game is insane. My first automaton battle was a challenging difficulty one. We dropped in with my fellow helldivers. It was in a jungle at night time. We just saw redlights in the darkness. Then we started getting shot from all directions. We tried desperately to hold on, we were jumped on by jetpack robots with chainswords. Walkers and heavy robots were firering missiles at us. We died like 12 times in the first 5 min. We had no time to rest, a nearby automaton base was firering big lasers at us while smaller turrets were pinning us down. It was truly a Helldive.
We managed to regroup and actually we made it out alive of our first mission. But damn, that feeling of stress and fear while barely surviving is insane haha
The trees speak binary.
glad the mechs are coming, just not in yet.
Soon (tm)
I like it, it makes feel like they're organically escalating the conflict instead of just a static set of gear and a constant gameplay loop that doesn't feel like we're accomplishing anything (looking at you destiny)
It's set 100 years after HD1, they have to re-learn the technology kek
gotta restart the production lines and refurb the old stock before we can start deploying heavy weaponry like ol 44
@@p_serdiuk If it a 100 years after then they should be more advance on that technology then regressing lol.
I believe the illuminati were left out due to time constraints. I love the game and once I was told Eagle Stratagems uses aren't per mission it's just per reload it made the game so much better.
For those wondering what i mean Eagle Airstrikes have two uses. However once you use it twice the Eagle returns to the destroyer to rearm, which takes a few minutes, but then returns with two uses again. You can also send it back early if you have a long walk ahead of you and don't think you'll need any of your Eagle stratagems so it's fully loaded when you reach your target.
i love the fact your airships need to resupply
Some of them have more. Or less. The cluster strike has four, which I'm almost certain is just because it'll frag your teammates as much as it kills the enemies.
Illuminate, not Illuminati
Good looking out sharing this! Thank you!
Depends on the payload, I like taking all eagle strats and imagining that eagle 1 is staying on station fully loaded for bare
On that arnor you have, that bonus is also on an armor you can unlock with the basic warbonds, its not exclusive to your premium armor. Worth noting for folks afraid that there's gameplay specific things they are losing from not going premium
Awesome! Thank you for clarifying, I was doubting myself on the info.
that is not necessarily true. you can find the passives in normal warbonds but the premium armor does offer a unique combination of passives and armor types that the normal war bonds do not.
@@cameronphares2482 I was speaking to the specific armor he mentioned in the video with the explosive resistance and 50% chance to survive trait. Its in the... 5th page armor I believe? of the free warbondss
But, yes, other premium armors have had some traits that are on specific armor types that you won't get from the free one.
@@NATCValhalla P2W matters because it still puts the pressure of FOMO on some people. It's a stronger force than many people think, because it happens to not affect them.
But other than that you're completely right, it's definitely a lot better than any P2W pvp game out there.
@@RustBot42To be fair, it's not really FOMO without an actual time limit; as far as I'm aware, these warbonds stick around forever.

5:34 Its DEFINITELY a reference. That being said, I still love it. The Redemptor Dreadnought is by far my favorite 40k model.
Some friends and I were doing a mission on Space Vietnam, one of the survey missions. We set up the thingy and then the Automatons were on us, throwing everything they had at us. We were in between two hills that gave us a little cover. It really did feel like Vietnam, like the battle of Ia Drang or something. Constant air strikes, mortar fire, and orbital strikes, with tracers, lasers, and bodies flying everywhere. We were constantly diving away from our own airstrikes as much as we were the enemy. By the end of the battle, every tree within 200 meters had been leveled, and the area was a catered mess. We lost some good Helldivers that day, but they gave their lives for Liberty, Prosperity, and Managed Democracy.
11/10 would fight Terminators in Space 'Nam again.
As someone who preordered, I can confirm that the effect on the armor sets from the Super Citizen and Pre-Order CAN be obtained in regular play, one set has the same effect as the white, gold, and blue armor halfway through the free warbond pass. The premium warbond pass is also easily obtainable at 1000 SuperCredits, and those can be found in game pretty often.
I got super citizen edition and started on the premium pass right away. I don't think I can ever live without the 50% throw distance bonus, it feels so good to kobe a grenade or orbital strike exactly where you wanted it over a huge distance.
That bonus isnt exclusive either!
@@SethAbercrombyit's 30%. The armor also shines as it provides your limbs with 50% more health. Might not seem like it, but when fighting bots and some bugs, you can have your limbs hurt very quickly. Tanking a few shots to the arm before it gets injured is helpful in firefights
@@gogeta667 I thought it was the other way around, but 30% is still amazing because throwing distance applies to both strategems and grenades. You can do some absolute dank throws to set things wherever you need them, or nail the holes on distant bug nests or factories across surprisingly large distances.
Easily attainable? You have to grind the battle pass to get Super Credits. 1000 will take you a hard minute.
For a lot of the stuff currently not in the game, I think we'll get a lot of it as time goes. We know mechs are come. There's at least two spots on the ship that are obviously meant to have things to do/interact with there. The galactic war map has a big obvious space for a 3rd and possibly 4th enemy faction. And they've stated we'll be getting more and more guns with each warbond and such.

This game man it’s exactly what I wanted out of destiny all those years ago. I love the ascetics, the tone, the jokes and how triumphantly silly it is.
Will Roget's music was wasted on D2, but not on HD2!
When me and my friends decided to try the automaton planets we decided to land in the middle of a factory. As you might’ve guessed we were beset on all sides from the tree lines. Not having enough time to get support weapons because we were too busy laying down returning fire. It was actual space Vietnam and we all returned to the ship laughing at that analogy.
11:00 Oh, hello there Matt Mercer.
good joke - i dont think its Mercer
That 40k reference was worth every like
So here’s the thing with medals, once you get to higher difficulties, finishing a campaign cluster will give you close to 25-30 medals. That’s in about 1-2hrs of gameplay. I’ve hit level 20+, most stratagems and weapons unlocked. I’m on page 8 of the regular warbond page. It’s the long term progression hook for sure
For the Emper- SuperEarth!!
looks like a cross between starship troopers, 40k, and halo's ODSTs. in other words freakin cool
This game has been my life since release, I WILL bring liberty to the galaxy One Bullet at a time
Monster Hunter+ Remnant+ Starship Troopers= F@$KING AWESOME
as a hardcore milsim guy, the fact i can get my non milsim friends to play this makes me so happy, it's got all the fun stuff i love at an accessible level for them! it's great!
There is a bolter in the game. It's in the Premium pass under the name "Jar-5 Dominator".
15 bullets per mag, penetrates medium infantry armor and fires jet propelled explosive bullets.
It can essentially fight all the things an Anti Materiel sniper rifle can, which includes a lot of otherwise annoying enemies that aren't vehicles (Like the medium automaton infantry or the red bugs with armored heads).
So it's really useful if you drop on top of an enemy outpost and need to quickly take out something heavier and don't have time to call in your support weapon.
Pre ordered it.
Played almost 30 hours since it’s dropped.
Literally haven’t touched another game since nor have I even thought about it
Aside from some matchmaking/server launch issues, absolutely brilliant game
Blasting limbs off of the bug warriors is basically recreating starship troopers arachnid destruction and I absolutely love it! This game is sooooo good, can’t believe how polished it is and how well it runs performance wise
As for the armor passives from the deluxe edition you were talking about, you can find several with the same effects in the free pass.
they just need to give us a twin auto cannon mech so I can FINALLY live out my fantasy of piloting a goliath from starcraft lol.
I swear, because of these suit designs, in 2070 I(whom will not survive that long) would be telling my (nonexistent) grandkids that there was this game called Destiny and then proceed to describe a mix of NMS, Satisfactory and Helldivers😅
All hail the Omnissiah!
There is a road map that says we will get vehicles in a future patch and I assume that also mean more ship upgrades too
i didn’t even realize the dreadnought one, the more i think of it automatons are really just necrons with imperium tech
Love the use of the Mechanicus speech for the mechanical enemies.
It goes so hard.
So, regarding the warbonds/not-quite-battlepasses. They're a 'pick-and-choose' progression system, progressed with the 'medals' currency you earn through mission completion or by finding them in hidden caches on the ground. The devs have already confirmed that every warbond they add is going to be evergreen, so no cycling out of goods or FOMO for the progression tracks they offer. They've also stated an intent of adding new bonds on a two week cycle, going forward.
As far as the super credits are concerned, the game has been shockingly generous with lining your pockets with the stuff, since you can find hidden caches of them around your missions, as well as earn extra via your warbonds. Even the current premium warbond gives you back 300 of the 750 it costs, over the course of unlocking it.
Premium currencies in paid games still isn't my favorite, but this game may just be one of most generous of the lot as far as that goes. Still not a fan of nProtect, but hey.
To save our Super Earth from any alien attack, from vicious giant insects who have once again come back. We'll unleash all our firepower, we won't cut them any slack, the EDF Deploys!
Love that you can feel it’s definetly heavily inspired by 40k and starship troopers.
I didn't expect this sort of video to pop up in my sub notifs, but by god is this a fantastic watch. Now I want more Zoran Reviews.
You vs terminids: I'm doing my part
You vs automaton: hulk boosted Terminators
I really like the progression system. I personally didn't find it confusing at all but I guess I can see how it could be. I know there are people that don't like grinding to just get the thing they want, but I do. I love going into missions and looking for those extra medals and watching the number of medals I need to unlock the next page go down. Having to unlock each page feels like a nice progressive milestone and I really appreciate that in a progression system. I, and I'm sure others, enjoy the process of it, not just getting the thing but the journey to get it. It feels good.
And although I get alot of things that don't really interest me I still end up trying them out or using them because, well, I now have them and they're my new shiny thing, even if it they aren't the item at the end of the tunnel that I'm REALLY looking for, they are still items I can use while I work to get the thing I do want.
I just unlocked the Ballistic Shield today. I used it against the Automatons, mostly as a meme, but I was shocked that it was extremely useful. The ability to tank A LOT of small-arms fire is crazy good. Now, if a tank, rocket launcher, or mortar/artillery hits you, you're dead regardless (and your shield will be destroyed) but I was able to hold out for a long time while my teammates retreated to the extraction point. I'm also really happy that unlike HD1, SMGs are shotguns are actually really good. I've been using the Defender with my shield to great effect.
Oh, "Be careful of Space 'Nam." I see. Even the closed captions didn't pick that up.
I remember a tense mission me and a friend were doing where right out of the gate we were getting hunted and demolished and when we stormed the robot base and came out on top with craters everywhere as smoke raised from demolished buildings felt incredibly immersive.. This game is awesome because you're rarely going to have a moment of peace and nothing beats dropping through the giant bugs head in a pod and instantly winning a boss fight, this is a game I'll be playing for a while lol.
Being overwhelmed in HD1 was pretty good and felt stressful. But in HD2, being swarmed has never been so intense and stress inducing. I absolutely love it.
The content in this game already is legitimately insane, and I can't imagine how much extra insanity future content is going to deliver.
If any of you ever chance on board of the Sovereign of Starlight for a random drop, let's bring liberty and democracy to all who oppose us together.
Everytime i start up my game, i force myself to watch the cinematic, because its just that good
The capes on the characters are clearly there for no reason other than it looks baller af and im very down for it
They blow in non-existant winds indoors. My friends and I have a head cannon that all the suits have small fans in them so you always have a billowing cape for propaganda points.
@@lolbuster01 lol
If you use the jet pack your cape becomes burnt and frayed for the rest of the match, cool detail!
@@Irokeshi this game is full of tons of little details they didn't have to do. The angle of planets you can see while dropping will change as you move over the surface of the planet.
The biggest difference in the armours are the buff. Light armour makes you significantly faster and the stamina regen is very noticeable. Heavy armour give you a significant buff against explosives and gives you better recoil control. The Med armour is general purpose but there are variations which give you good buffs like the medical suit which gives you more stims and a 20% buff to their effect duration. In practice this means you can actually completely tank damage when you take a stim while being completely overrun by bugs
The heavy armor on the premium pass gives you the same throw distance and limb health bonus as the medium armor. For almost every armor skill there will likely be at least one light or heavy variant.
i just blast the 40k Mechanicus soundtrack when fighting automatons
150MM Cannon FIRE
Supply Pack has put in an obscene amount of weight in my games; sure you get the dopamine hit of being the team’s That Good Guy, but you also can just do your own thing and go hard in the paint more than usual since you can fully restock yourself far more frequently without taking anything from the team.
The bottom of the upside-down pyramid
Finally someone mentioned Han Solo movie 😂 Its literally first thing that came to my head when I saw those fights in fog
A friend introduced me to the Starship trooper movies, and kept telling me about a fps for it, while i never actually found said fps, Helldivers 2 at first glance looks like that game he decribed to me more than 15 years ago.
Yoooo the edf reference tho 😂
Been playing it with old buddies from PlanetSide 2. Been a load of fun so far. Biggest issue at the moment is the log in queue. There are also some balancing issues for some missions like evacuate civilians that need some lookovers. Overall, great game.
Can we all agree that mechanicus part read by Zoran was absolutely MAGICAL?!
I absolutely love this game! Brings back core memories from when the first and second Destiny came out when I was a teenager! Out of everything my favorite part is the drop sequence scene. Watching your squad shoot down towards a planet in a ball of fire is a top tier “Lets Fucking Go!!” Moment
Terminids and troopers look suspiciously like Tyranids and Astra Militarum I'm sure there's no coincidence.
Arrowhead has photos of their people playing 40k in the office IIRC
we've got our legally distinct nids and crons
though that said, pretty much any big space bugs look pretty similar
I'm glad I wasn't the only one having massive EDF vibes from this game lol

honestly its the missile guys that get me haha
This review is the first video I've seen from you and it was great. Wasn't even looking for it, a friend recommended me to take a look at the game and suddenly I'm hete 😂
The devs mentioned mech strategems will be added in the future :3
Regarding the super warbond that requires premium or real money to unlock: Yes you can unlock it through playing just the game, the rate at which you get that currency however is really slow.
You said you have 350 credits without trying, but that's because you 1. start with a couple credits (If I remember correctly), 2. The progression system lets you spend medals for free credits however this is 100 credits the first 3-4 times and then it lowers to 50. After playing 20+ hours I'm at 500 credits, however getting the next 500 credits through the warbond is really slow as it is now 50 at a time for 20 medals.
So you'd have to get nearly all those credits from ingame lockers.
From the lockers the rate is also very low, devs have said the following: players are expected to earn 10-40 Super Credits per hour.
The Warbond progression only gives you a total of 700-800 credits so you would need to complete the entire Warbond progression system and play 10 efficient hours of looting super credits.
This would mean to get 1000 super credits for a warbond you'd need to play a lot and that's a shame because there are a lot of cool weapons locked behind the premium battlepass, and they'll stay locked for many hours of gameplay.
The transition from the first game to the second in terms of perspective is great. The only other franchise that successfully transitioned perspective is the transition from 2d platformer to a 3rd person shooter that Risk of rain pulled off
For the Emperor of Mankind- I mean SuperEarth!
One thing to note about the "battle pass" it's like Halo in the fact that it's not time limited. Once you buy into the pass you can work on it at anytime
I wonder what the third enemy will be and how they’ll be more terrifying
The super credits can be annoying but I got enough to buy the premium war bond in the nine hours of play. Its all about exploration. Also great job with the video.
One thing i will say about the disappointment of only 2 factions, they have set up the map in a way where it might be possible to have a war on 4 fronts, thet would be neat to have all 3 factions back plus maybe a possible traitor faction.
There is just so much that I discovered mechanically that prevents me from hating this game.
I was a hardcore of the original and my heart sank when I found out they went with 3rd person. But I was way wrong HD2 is so much more fun and I am saving resources like crazy for when the mechs and vehicles arrive.
Okay, this actually has me interested.
Red flares. So many red flares.
They are in the trees speaking binary to us.
We will not go home.
There are a lot of QOL things and mechanics that should be there, but as someone who never knew it existed until it was about to release it's amazing so far
Just bought this first time playing helldivers it's fun as hell love it
As someone who has never heard of Helldivers before, this is a good fucking game.
It's (according some dialogue with a crewmember on the Super Destroyer) been around 100 years since the first galactic war (HD1).
Glad they pulled it off. Helldivers 1 was so good but not many played it.
Just to let everyone know the steam armor you can get a free version called hero of the people that has the exact same effect in the game. It’s in the free war bond part about three to 4 down
The problem that I have with these games has nothing to do with Helldivers 2 itself but rather with the 4 player co-op genre as a whole. All of these devs are making games for exactly four players. It's like they can't comprehend that a friend group that doesn't fit that exact number not only exists but is pretty common. My gaming group has anywhere between 3-9 people available at any one time. It's really hard to play a 4-player game without intentionally excluding people. (And doing two parallel games rarely works either because they are balanced to require exactly 4 players.) Whenever a game like this pops up: Pulsar, Sea of Thieves, Deep Rock Galactic, 40K Darktide, etc... A couple people in the group get really excited about it. Most of us buy it, the hard-core players immediately proceed to burn themselves out in the course of a couple weeks (and, if it's a game with progression, leave everyone else in the dust). And by the time the people with actual lives are wanting to give it a go, the rest of the group is burned out and moving on. I have 3-4 games in my library that I have literally never played (and many more that I've only played a few times) because I missed the window of interest when people were actually playing it. I'd have even more if I hadn't stopped buying these kind of games.
Don't get me wrong, the game looks fun. But I'll never be able to play it because of group dynamics. :/
I think we might get a new enemy faction in this game.
Think about it, we have the Bugs and Robots currently on the left and right of the galactic map. We are likely going to be getting the Blue “people” so it isn’t impossible that we might get another enemy faction eventually.
The weapon drag really does sound terrible, on paper.
But I can not properly express the feeling of joy I felt dragging my Machine Gun across the screen, trigger held tight, as I mowed down bugs trying to flank me.
I'm only a few hours in, but I already love this game with all my being.
I was watching this on UA-cam on my Xbox. And this is like one of the games where I saw the game plan like holy s***This is the best f****** game I've ever seen my entire life. And I am merely went to the game store by it all into. Sadly, realize that it's only exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Microsoft windows. The good news is that I have Steam. So I can most likely buy it, but it was the sudden realization that it was a good game that I couldn't get on console
Thanks!
The Illuminate race was defeated after the first game. We stole their tech which gave us FTL travel and made it possible to colonize the galaxy during the 100 years since. I doubt they will be an enemy race in HD2, unless they somehow manage to fight back after we beat them 100 years ago.
I personally hope Arrowhead adds another, completely new race. They have also confirmed that the Mech is coming shortly after launch.
Space 'Nam is so fuckin' accurate. I swapped fronts after getting too many armor bugs and losing the railgun and holy crap they're a different beast XD accidentally waltz into a patrol and suddenly firing squad, that shit spoopy.
They confirmed that mechs are coming to the game. So exited
When me and my homies first fought the automatons we straight called some of them Dreadnaughts and my god are they hell to fight against
I'm loving this game. It's very fun. Everything about it is amazing.
Mechs (and probably vehicles too) have already been confirmed to be coming soon™
You are the first I've heard reference the illuminate(?), clearly you know what you speak of and I must trust your leadership.
I, a fellow doubter of 3D conversions, am now convinced of the game's value.
Just to pass my own thing in - it took me roughly 27 hours of game play (just under 50 total missions) to get the 1000 Super Credits. That was me progressing up through the difficult tiers. As the higher difficulties start rewarding more, I think if I play on Suicide mission, I'll see my next thousand a little more quickly.
This is definitely a game that wants you to stick around and play long term. I think that's why they made the highest tier in the main battle-pass style progression tree take a thousand + medals.
Also - I am just so excited, thinking about how there is a good chance we are going to be seeing / getting access to vehicles, and the illuminate. I feel like the devs have saved a lot of stuff in the can, to drip feed out to maintain long term interest in the game.
I feel like with the way the map is set up, there might even be a fourth faction, where we see treasonous humans trying to udermine our way of life. Rogue SEAF type forces, flat out humans, that use our tactics against us, but separate from the automatons. Theres a lot of potential for different enemy types, combos, and dangerous fighting. Robotic Bugs... it has so much potential to be even more fun!
This is the best review of this game out there.
