- Pete's FIRST CAR when he was 16 years old was this exact vehicle - he sold it for £15, then bought it back for £750 after seeing it for sale many years later - He set about refurbishing it to get it back on the road with some lovely safety modifications including gas struts to lift it off the ground if you have a flat tyre! Great car story, and clever set up for working on it. I like that he is making it safer and look forward to seeing it finished someday. You could tell by his smile he was a happy person.
Pete is epic!! ... a lovely neighbour and a wonderful engineer!! ... I can’t wit to see how this restoration turns out!!
I build the interiors for these still, the British classic car scene is growing fast, now's the time to find one and restore.

Aww thanks... it really is quite cool what Pete is doing... I cant wait to get another session with him in the future when this car is close to re-assembled... That said, I think we have a little wait ahead of us :-)
In an age when most of us look to retro 8 bit computers to clean, fix and bring back to life this gentleman has taken it a few steps further. Not only his first car but his actual "first car". Cleaning, restoring and upgrading, hats off my man. Loving the Pete's garage number plates BTW. Good job Howard, really interesting video ;)
I love to take on projects... but restoration of a complete car from the ground up is just epic!! ... too much of a challenge for me!! :-). I can’t wait to see what Pete’s car 🚗 looks like when it’s all done!! :-). All the best Peadar and thanks for the kind comments :-)
My neighbour had an 8E in which I practiced before taking my test. I then went halves with the neighbour's son on a Ford Pilot (£7/10/0 each) that had the Jackall system. Those were the days! 😊
Because we’re in lockdown I haven’t yet had chance to do another video with Pete... but... we will! Trust me!

Hi got the same car need to do the same job to it wish i can get tyres for it i like the rims. Here in deep south of afrika i had no luck yet.
I've mentioned it to Pete tonight over a couple of beers... not sure we can help, but if he knows some vendors we will let you know so you can do a little research... all the best!
Oh, totally cool! That's a Smiths Jackall. I've heard about these but had never seen one or knew how they worked. Why don't all cars have something like this? Cool. Great car. I've only recently discovered Morris 8 Series E's. What does the "E" stand for? - Paul, USA (Yes, yes, our President is insane. We know ...)

hi i have a 1938 morris 8 e, do you know the tube socket size to undo the nut at rear of the brake master cylinder that holds it to chaise cross member
