In France , we see Napoleon as a chad boi who fucked everyone in Europe
@@Admiral45-10 agree
@@mrronron7328 I always thought he's like a good guy to French.
In Polish history books he's actually portrayed very positively - as guy who increased the rights of a Third Estate and brought it to other places in Europe. And also liberated us from brutal oppression of Prussia, Russia and Austria.
Most of Polish poets (e.c. Adam Mickiewicz) had the exact same opinion about him.
@@Admiral45-10 switzerland has a Love hate relationship with him, we like some of the ideas he brought, we absolutely hated him and his croonies though to the point that we rebelled near constantly culminating in the war of the sticks forcing him to abolish the puppet government he enforced.

The more I listen to this the more I appreciate the song choice. Particularly the chorus. "Oh, you're making waves in the same old way! Times are changing, you still playin' the same old game." At first it's a reference to the old feudal lords of Europe, stuck in their ways and with their aristocratic armies, that fall to Napoleon. Yet, in turn, as those same foes who survive adapt and begin to show signs of 20th century-style warfare (defense in depth, reliance on destroying the enemy's capacity to fight over beating him in single pitched battle, scorched earth, etc.) it's NAPOLEON who's stuck in his old ways. He's incapable of securing what he won because he's still relying on the same old tactics. And so, he in turn is undone by the same changing times that brought him to power.
Thank you! Sorry for the late response It somehow slit through :c
Also im very happy you recognized why I chose this song ^^ Besides that theres more lyrical references I found very useful, for example the part "Why would you give up" at the end. But the one you pointed out is the most important!
@@DarkBuddhist That damn Russian Emperor just wouldn't give up, huh? Kept fleeing with all of his vast tracts of land. "People should know when they're conquered" as was said in Gladiator. Yet Napoleon in turn ruined his own chances by letting the perfect be the enemy of the good. It's not like Russia could really defeat Napoleon if they marched into Europe proper. But Napoleon chased them into Russia and they had all the advantages.
Taiyama2 There was also the lack of naval dominance meaning they couldn’t trade with overseas nations as well
No of course not, Napoleon didn't always use the same old ways nor did the other countries adapt, they were just too many against one after Napoleon suffered the most severe strike in Russia, not because of the russian army but because of the conditions. If he was to lose battles single handedly, he would have adapted quickly and destroy them back again, he was never stuck in his old ways, he was stuck alone without proper allies.
“It’s literally just feet”
that's hot.
Quentin Tarantino would approve

France: Total of the Germany, surrender in 2 weeks in 1806, without blitzkrieg.
Lmao but france was a federalised state when they got attacked while Germany was a fractured group of city states when attacked.
which makes it even harder to invade, destroying an army it may be easy, but if it is a multitude of small armies, plus that of Prussia, victory is very unlikely, unless 'have the strategy, the army and the moral.
Napoleon didn’t just beat Prussia he destroyed it. Napoleon smashed Prussian army at Jena , his subordinate general Marshal Davout also destroyed its army at Auersdst. France took 140,000 prisoners, Napoleon did that in under 3 weeks and, after the fourth coalition, Prussia had to reform their entire military, unsurprisingly trying to implement many Napoleonic styles of war like the corps system
