I like how the African guitarists dont play the way we are used to hear from the radios and well-known guitarists in western world. You can tell they are most likely not copied their style from anyone famous guitarist. And when the music has no guidelines to follow, it comes purely from the heart!

I discovered "sahara blues" only recently, so far i love it. I mostly like Bombino, Mdou Moctar and Tinariwen. I'm open to suggestions for what else i should listen to.
Not sure if Ballake Sissoko counts as blues exactly, but holy God can he play the kora. The album "In the Heart of the Full Moon" by Ali Farke Toure and Toumani Diabate is spectacular (those artists have accented letters in their names but I don't know how to do that on my keyboard). And Oum is a Moroccan blues group that kind of has to be heard to be believed. I'm just starting my journey into the many varied African blues that exist and I hope you like these as much as I do.
Have you tried Songhoy Blues? Their album Music in Exile is great. Ali Farke Toure did an album with Ry Cooder called Talking Timbuktu which is also very good.

Some further recommendations are a band called Tamikrest, listen to Mawarniha Tartit by them. A band called Delgres, their song Anko is quite lively. The whole album Mo Jodi is good. And then have a listen to Kel Assouf and a track called Amghar.

The album "In the Heart of the Full Moon" by Ali Farke Toure and Toumani Diabate is spectacular (those artists have accented letters in their names but I don't know how to do that on my keyboard). And Oum is a Moroccan blues group that kind of has to be heard to be believed. I'm just starting my journey into the many varied African blues that exist and I hope you like these as much as I do.
Have you tried Songhoy Blues? Their album Music in Exile is great.
Ali Farke Toure did an album with Ry Cooder called Talking Timbuktu which is also very good.

A band called Delgres, their song Anko is quite lively. The whole album Mo Jodi is good. And then have a listen to Kel Assouf and a track called Amghar.
I dont know what his saying but his songs makes feel good. And make move :D
