Why isn't this song viewed like 87 billion more times?! Why is this kind of music not shared with more people?! This overwhelmingly beautiful music needs to be at the forefront of the industry because it speaks to the SOUL.
Why is fast food a thing? Why is fast fashion a thing? Because most people don't want to expend time and energy on "real" things, they want surface-level stuff that's quick and easy to consume. Music is no different, modern day popular music is the equivalent of fast food and fast fashion in every sense. Stuff that's real, with real emotion, might force people to actually feel something and we can't have that now can we? Perish the thought

@Branka 333 I discovered them on twitter tonight and fell in love with them ( lol ) plus to see them with my other favourite band- the Cure - would be all i could hope for but alas I am in NZ ( saw the Cure when they came here in 2016 - best concert ever!! )
I saw them in Charlotte two days ago opening for The Cure and was so inspired with their performance live. I'm not in love with this song and all of the tracks they preformed, but they're definitely talented and had some good stuff

As a non native speaker, I hardly understand the lyrics, but their music makes me feel lying in a bathtub with warm water after a day of cumbersome, but successful work
@@gerryjtierneyyou should see the Spotify lyrics for all their songs. Someone other than the band, who I’m guessing isn’t Scottish, has had a go with very questionable results
+Monami Straume Id never heard of them until I saw they were supporting The Cure in KC this summer. Looked them up on here, and the first thing that came to mind was Joy Division.
:-):-) it seemed to me I'm the only one who thought like this when I saw them opening The Cure performance in Helsinki. Besides I thought that they're the mix Joy Division and Placebo :-)
What I like about The Twilight Sad is that I interpret their songs differently depending on what mindset I'm in. A few months ago I thought this was a song about unrequited love because I had a crush on a girl a few leagues above me but nowadays, with all the news reports about rape I think this is a modern day version of Diane by Hüsker Dü (and THERAPY?).
Well actually the only thing that the singer shares with Ian Curtis is his looks, and their voices are extremely different. Just shows how much people judge by appearance.
YES ! exactly what I thought after 2 seconds live ... it's just a small "mistake", they don't need to be as Ian, was or what ever, nobody can be Ian Curtis ....
What I found interesting was when I brought one of my friends with me to see them perform their stripped back set as a 3 piece band and he said they remind him of the Smiths. I know they aprreciate The Smiths and have even covered one of their songs but I never heard it per se in The Twilight Sad's music before then...
The Ian Curtis comparison is pretty apt when you see him performing live. I haven't seen them for a couple of years now, but as a Scot I had a lot of opportunities to see them during their earlier more intense sets, whereupon James Graham would often roll his eyes back during wall of sound moments almost looking like he was on the verge of an epileptic fit!!
Yeah, the sound (lack of) quality bugs me, as well. Sometimes still jam to cd's in my vehicles. Not as good as heavy vinyl but pretty clean and loud😊 all good
