what happens when the person pulling the patient trips while walking backwards up the stairs OR trying to place their foot on the step going down and trips due to the large frame? Got to be honest, this doesn't look much safer, just easier for weaker people to pull. Did you add a way to lock the tracks so they can only go one direction when going up but can unlock to go down?

This chair will not move unless the caregiver pushes the up or down button, so if they need to stop on the stairs, it's very safe. They also are not pulling or pushing at all - the motor does all that lifting work. The wheels do lock, and there are added safety features like safety belts and extendable handlebars underneath so that a second person can stand in front of the patient and assist.
