Yugoslavia modified a Sherman to have a 122mm Soviet style cannon and the engine from a T-34, and no yugoslavian vehicle is in game yet

They will add Yugoslavia alone to be able to put that monster Sherman as a Premium or a tech tree variant. Odds of becoming a Premium = 95% . Odd of becoming a tech tree variant=5%. Pretty accurate,no? Lol.

they also provided the Shermans for the film Kelly's Heroes - a 76mm gun but mounted in the original turret.
We're still missing the 122mm Sherman, the Chilean Sherman with the 60mm, the Argentine Sherman with the 105mm also. And those are the ones I remember, surely there're more.

Gaijin needs to implement the T10 mine exploder Sherman, and the T31 Demolition Sherman.
Edit: or the the GMC T53.
Personally my favourite non-standard Sherman is the DD, although the flail, and T10 are awesome too.
Off the top of my head, some neat Sherman variants that'd still be cool to see in game:
- T40/M17 Whizbang, another standard Sherman with a MRLS on top. There were a bunch of different variants made, too.
- SO-122, a Yugoslavian Sherman version _somehow_ cramming a 122mm field artillery gun into the turret and a T-34-85 engine in the back.
- MAR-240 and/or MAR-290, a crazy Israeli contraption carrying 36 240mm or 4 290mm ground-to-ground rockets respectively.
- M4A3R5 and/or M4 Crocodile, flamethrower tanks much like the Churchill Crocodile already in game.
- M50/60, a Chilean variant sporting the 60mm HVMS gun by OTO Melara we've already seen.
Of course, this ignores the dozens of self-propelled artillery pieces based on the Sherman hull, but we'd be here forever otherwise.

I and many others would like a tank only mode so we can batlle it out with tanks only,very big maps,very big spawn points so spwancamping becomes almpost impossible or very difficult. Warthunder knows how to handle that. The palyer base uis big enough,even if they make it a permanent event ,that would be dream! planes have it,plane only planes batlle, why can't we as tank players? Well,we can all dream right?

USMC had a Sherman 105 with Dozer blade in Korea. Also a Flamethrower Sherman which mounted the flame alongside the 75mm. Neither one would be OP -just different.

The king of weird Shermans belongs to Chile imo. They bought Israeli M-50s, put in new Detroit Diesel engines (a 75 hp upgrade) and swapped in the 60mm gun seen in-game in the AUBL/74 HVG. They removed the 3 round autoloader though. They also fitted that gun to some Chaffee's.

Weird Sherman variants not in game yet: SO-122, T40/M17, M40, Crab mine clearing Sherman, T31, L33, and Israeli MAR-290
best part is that sweden now has a panzer IV, t-34 and sherman at 3.7
- There's a Yugoslav SO-122 Sherman with the 122mm A-19 gun.
- The M40/M43 HMCs which are Shermans modified to carry a 155mm gun and 203mm howitzer, respectively.
- Demolition tank T31, which used a flamethrower and two rocket launchers.
- T52 MGMC which is a Sherman SPAA with an enclosed ball turret.
- There's the T53/T53E1 GMCs which are essentially Sherman versions of the German VFW with 90mm guns.
- M17 Whizbang, which is basically a Calliope with bigger rockets.
- A couple attempts at replacing the main gun with a rocket launcher.
- The Canadian Grizzly
- A few countries replaced the 75mm on M4A4 with the 75mm off the AMX-13, including India and Israel
- The Chilean M-60
- Israeli M4A4 FL-10
- Japan once replaced the engine of an M4A3W76 with a gas-turbine engine. At least 770 hp.
For weird Sherman variants, you could do the duplex drive Sherman. As for odd weapons, there was a variant with a Spigot mortar, and a variant with a weaponized light meant to blind enemies.
A sherman tierlist would be cool
The M12 GMC was essentially a Sherman with a 155mn cannon. The Sherman IV Crab was a mine clearing vehicle, it has a giant roating cylinder with chains to beat the ground. The Ram Kangaroo was a Canadian APC on the Sherman Chassis. The M2 Medium and M3 Lee use early itterations of the Sherman chassis. There was nothing you couldn't do with this vehicle. The roles it could fill was endless. It was robust, reliable, cheap, easy to main tain, spacious, decently protected. This, and more, is why I believe it was the best tank in WWII.

The Sherman is a bit lacking on the armour and firepower department, but when you get an actual flank with them, they feel insanely effective...
The Canadian Grizzly with Canadian Dry Pin tracks would be a kind of cool event vehicle. It's actually what the Skink is based on.
Plus I think it would be very cool to have a D-Day variant of a D-D tank with the float collapsed just as decoration or some wading gear (ie snorkle) on the engine deck
Chile used third hand upgraded Shermans, the M60. Upgraded M50/M51 Super Shermans bought from Israel where they replaced the 75/105mm guns with the 60mm HVMS gun found on the AUBL ingame and stabilsiers were added.
Only Sherman to ever use APFSDS.
You should see the Sherman with the pershing turret. If anything it looks like the shermoon has finally gained the ability of 5head

the KV-85 is silly at that BR
FOr the KV85, the side armor around the turret base is much thinner and sticks out from the hull a bit. If he angles slightly, the 75 can get through it smei-reliably.
On the topic of strange modified Shermans look up "L-33 Ro'em", you will not be disappointed.
I wish WT did a coop event where 3 players control one tank; driver, gunner, mg/commander. Could be fun. Could be really bad. Every time I hear Trinity I always think of Trinity from the Matrix
The KV 85 has a weakspot on the side that is only 40mm thick. Its the welded on extension that allowed them to fit the larger IS-1 turret with the 85mm gun on the KV 1 chassis. If you ever see an angled KV 85, aim for there, as its round and protrudes out, making it an easy way to knock out the turret crew and potentially the driver too.
Ro'em (colloquially known as L-33) - A self-propelled artillery piece mounting Soltam M-68 155 mm L/33 howitzer in large enclosed superstructure. Uses Sherman chassis with Cummins VT-8-460Bi diesel engine and HVSS. Probably about 200 units were produced. The gun saw combat in the Yom-Kippur War and the 1982 Lebanon War. Currently out of active service

You might've had some bad shots in there, but that engagement is a perfect example of why the KV-85 doesn't belong at 4.7 BR. It needs to go up to 5.0 a the least, or even to its original BR of 5.3.
yeah I was about to say, when did that get moved to 4.7? how in the bowels od hell does a heavy tank with a gun as good as the T34/85 at 5.0 get that BR?

@@hellisia-celeste-evangelin8925 The armor is bad when uptiered, but is workable for what it is. The gun's performance though is too much for what it is when faced against 3.7 tanks though. Just because the player playing it doesn't get downtiered much, doesn't mean you won't face two or three every match with a 3.7 lineup. Its too much to be that low in BR. I'd argue its a better vehicle than the Jumbo is, which could go back to 4.7 given what has been added since the Jumbo used to be at that BR.
A kv1s hull with an 85mm the same BR as a tiger H1 and panther D? Even the german kv1 is 5.0 and much better. The US also has a 76mm sherman with a stabilizer at 4.7. Saying that the kv85 is op and should be 5.3 screams skill issue

Heavy gun Howitzer Shermans. Both the US and Israelis created a lot of Shermans types with 155mms like the M40 King Kong.
Sherman Flail, Dozer, any of the dozen or so flamethrower variants.
The T31 demolition tank. It’s a sherman with two rocket launchers, a hull flame thrower and no main gun.
T33 it’s a Jumbo with HVSS and a coaxial flamethrower.
Sherman wheel tank literally has four massive wheels.
Most of the WW2 Sherman SPGs like the T53 90mm
The SO-122 (Soviet 122 on a M4A3 with a T-34-85 engine)
All the M-50 variants.
Japanese M4A3 with a turbine engine

M50 Super Sherman was an Israeli modification with a French 75mm gun

The M4s were a popular choice because of the quality transmission and suspension. A well built tank with good mobility and drivetrain durability .plus a surplus of spare parts that actually fit because of good quality control standards
Pretty sure we are still missing the Sherman Crocodile, which is just a M4A2 with the flamethrower system that the Churchill Crocodile had, and the M4 POA-CWS H1 (POA-CWS: Pacific Ocean Area-Chemical Warfare Service) which was basically a M4A3 that had it's primary cannon swapped for a flamethrower.
Rule #1 in the Sherman: If you can't pen the target, shoot the gun.
Suggestion: Use the jumbo and try to bounce as many shots as possible in one game? Or play as the maus and only get kills by ramming.

Sherman DD, Sherman Crocodile (flamethrower); Sherman Kangaroo (recon / troops carrier), M7 Priest (105mm US arty), Sexton (25pd arty), Grizzly Mk I and probably few more :). Most of them were in old but cool as hell Combat Mission Beyond Overlord game which was for me as a kid source of military knowledge before the age of the wikipedia :D.
You can always shoot the KV series in the driver's visor, a well-placed shot goes in nicely.

The Sherman "Repotenciado". It's the argentinian version. Pretty similar to the israeli M-51, with a few differences.
Argentina ended up buying 250 sherman fireflies from Belgium back in 1947/1948, and modified around half of them them in between 1976 due to the increasing possibility of a war aginst Chile. The "Repotenciado" has a better diesel engine, new tracks, and a french designed french 105 cannon, which fires the same shell as the austrian SK105 Kurassier and the AMX-13/105.
It would be interesting to see it in game, with time. They could add it to a "new nation" that includes different south american vehicles, probably some spanish vehicles too, idk, just an idea. Or they could just add it to the british tech tree, since it's based on the Firefly.
For weird adaptations we have dozer and the tusked 'Rhino' Shermans for clearing terrain, and and 'zippo' flame Shermans for clearing bunkers.
But on top of that, we're still missing the M4A3 75mm for America. Across all the M4A3 variants with the 75 more than 4,500 were produced and it was the favored vehicle of the US Army. (The M4A2 was the favored vehicle of the US Marines.) It wasn't the first to the fight, but it was the best 75mm M4 we made.
It's a gaping hole in the US lineup, like missing the Panther or the T-34-85 would be.

The Americans fielded the Rocket Launcher T39 and/or the T40/M17 Whizbang. The Whizbang saw combat and ought to be a tech tree vehicle - maybe in a folder to limit use.
The T39/T40 is like the Calliope except with a larger 7.2" rocket that was forward facing with limited elevation traverse and a total of 20 rockets. This 7.2" rocket is nearly identical to the 7-inch British mortar found on the Matilda Hedgehog, but also the 7.2" mortar rocket is already modeled in game, both as the Matilda Hedgehog and as an anti-submarine mortar. This would be a direct-fire weapon and ought to have 65mm of penetration. It was mounted on Shermans and the M5. Because the rocket would be so powerful, it could hold it's own at 4.0/4.3 or higher. If the snail wanted to make it really interesting, do a minimum engagement range of 300m (by having a minimum elevation of like +5 degrees or whatever).
You should do a series where you play every Sherman in the game, good series for content

the kv1s and kv85 including the is series has a weak cupola that can be used to take them out if you have enough explosive filler
Not an Experimental or obscure Version of the Sherman, but i think its long overdue that they add the Bulldozer Modification to the 105 Sherman.
The flame Sherman was already mentioned, but I believe there was a prototype or a mock-up for an American AA Sherman that mounted six .50 cals in an armored turret, a bit like the Skink. 😅
Missing are several GMCs and SPGs like the M40 GMC ( used by US and later GB. +300pcs produced) or the Sherman tulip...
Like the angle shot on your Sherman, I have recently been killed twice by Russo 76mm in a PzIVG thru the side at what looked like about a 179 degree angle.

Heavily modified Sherman into Artillery vehicles. Like the Israeli M-50 155 mm. Armed with a French Model 50 155 mm howitzer.

Smoke rounds really do be the only way to stand a chance. Throw smoke in their faces, and either back off or push to attack their sides.
The Israeli M51 Super Sherman variant in my opinion is the best one. While retaining the same armor integrity as all other Shermans and is slower, I love how its gun just rips almost any tank to smithereens.
It completely changes it from an aggresive tank into a sniper though.

That was called the Multiple Gun Motor Carriage T52 - it has a 40mm Bofors gun - but it only carried 64 rounds of 40mm. It would be interesting at BR 3.7/3.3
yeah now 3.brs can face 4.brs since the update so you have a high chance of facing uptier lol the 2c used to be a forsure thing but now its 50 50 if you win or lose.

Well, Ruussians once trying to give M4 an 85-mm gun in a modified T-34 76 turret. This modification is called M4 85 and currently only was added in WoT ass premium Tier 5 vehicle. I think it will be good addtition to 5.0-5.7 BR.
