I've never had a scale lift to date but had plenty of fish dragging leaders that have been snapped at the line. Me and tubing seem to have arguments when I have used it so I guess it's a case of sticking to what I know and comfortable with. If I do cause a fish any damage then I will re-evaluate my rigs.
I keep my rigs simple as well, I love yur vds buddy, me and you both have to be budget, my entire set up cost no more than 300. If you want to save money, do what u do, I've Jones a local none commercial lake, its costs £75 for the entire season including nights, so in essence you could fsh the entire season every single day, for 75. Its called priory lake marina in Bedford. Look it up. Maybe see you there.
Thanks for your comments. It sounds like a really good deal you have found there. Sadly due to living in Wiltshire, it would be unviable for me to join there and travel to get the most out of it. If your local it sounds like you can get a really good value for money ticket there.
I hope your channel grows and shows newcomers you don’t need all the fancy and expensive gear to do a 24 hr catch fish and enjoy yourself. 👍
Thank you for your kind words. Hopefully a lot of people will see that whether they be newcomers or experienced.
I'd love to see a full length video of your tips for beginners on making rigs, really helpful to see how simple and easy they can be.
Hi Jim, I shall look into doing one of them next week.
@@budgetfishing3611 awesome! 🙂
Why don't you use a leader or tubing up from the lead clip?
It protects the fish from the line lifting scales when playing them.
