So I was playing Cyberpunk Red with my players last night. After having three character sheets open and a map that I don’t think was that big or overwrought, my machine (older but Alienware and still capable of running top-title video games) was *crawling* along. My players all want me to switch VTTs, but after investing so much into Roll20 I really don’t want to. So yes, I am looking forward to, hoping, *praying* that Jumpgate does a better job.
Always hard to know if the VTT is the issue, considering other possibilities like your internet connection, other devices taking your bandwidth, Windows updating in the background, running on wifi or Starlink etc. If it is any of those other reasons then a new VTT will be just as slow. You can try rerunning the same map and same sheets and see if you still get the same low speed, or whether it was a temporary slowdown.
Gahh I'm getting so frustrated. I've been trying to build npc characters, but changes to their sheets aren't saving.. Just wasted an hour to come back and see spells gone and having to re build a few wizards. Knights no longer have attacks and such...
Yes, performance is a huge issue. Roll20 used to be very slow when we used it. Great to hear you're focusing on improving it.
great job! have you thoght about adding a UI Layer? One that ist stuck to the "Camera"

I switched to Foundry because of this, but after downloading a bunch of mods, it ran way slower than Roll20.

I am so hyped to see this!
Awesome news!
This is great news! I’m so excited for the new step. Will undo and redo as well as copy and paste work with keyboard commands on Mac?
Fun fact: this was filmed on a Mac! So yes!!
