"Far"right for someone far on the left. I expected talk about Neo-nazis but not about merely conservative politicians. How can people who claim to "believe in democracy" use the term "populism" as some kind of derogatory?. isn't democracy not all about the rule of said (evil) "populus"?

Exposure of the depth of Heidegger's Nazism seems irreconcilable with the humanism of his contributions to emotional phenomenology.

This glaring contradiction can be understood only by examining its sources in Heidegger's personal emotional world and personal history.

@@derekshaw8050 LOL. Right. This is what goes wrong in philosophy IMHO. It turns into mumbojumbo rhetoric, the unleashing of imagination into fictions which reach enormous proportions, drowning out any semblance of common sense. It can justify anything, including mass murder.

Only for Intellectuals, but me, I only have a 2 year nursing degree. I have been reading Heidegger for 34 years and really do not care.

Let's be clear. This is isn't philosophy it's history and politics. Nice little extra-philosophical analysis but it's not philosophy proper. Read as philosophy the entire book is a genetic fallacy.

you're right that the content of the video seems to be primarily focused on history and politics rather than traditional philosophy. However, it's essential to recognize that the boundaries between these disciplines can sometimes be quite porous, and there's room for interdisciplinary exploration.
They may not adhere to the strict definitions of philosophy in the traditional sense, but it does touch on philosophical themes and ideas. Philosophy often seeks to grapple with complex questions about ethics, morality, and human nature, and these questions can intersect with historical and political contexts. In this case, the article appears to be addressing ethical and moral questions related to the events described, and that can be seen as a philosophical endeavor, even if it's not purely "philosophy proper."
In essence, the philosophical lens can be applied to various aspects of life and knowledge, including history and politics, leading to interesting and insightful discussions. It's all part of the rich tapestry of human thought and exploration.

Did Wolin say Heidegger made an important contribution to epistemology?
    What?
Does he not understand philosophy at all?

Those pseudo philosophers dont understand what is philosophy. Wolin is making thé promotion of his empty books again Heidegger. Wolin is not à philosopher. Hé is part of that disgusting campaign which began 80 years. But Heidegger is Still thé great thinker of the 20th Cy

Why is Heidegger the greatest thinker? Is it just because someone else told you he is or have you come to that conclusion on your own from serious research?
