I typed my letter and in view looks different. I type California in California Gothic, and in preview looks fine, but the actual words looks fat and two different colors and outlined. How do you set the font correctly ?
The 2 different colours are the Stroke(the outline) and the fill colour. The quickest way to remove the stroke (which is why your letters are appearing a little chubby) is to hold down Shift and click on the X in the bottom left of your screen, or you can use the Fill and Stroke dialog box to make changes.
You can import photos into Inkscape (File - Import) and then use them like any other element in your image. Try watching the following videos: Bending Text: ua-cam.com/video/ytipi0cQZdg/v-deo.html Image Inside Text Inkscape (Shows how to import an image and how you can clip an image): ua-cam.com/video/Ookb0ilYVBs/v-deo.html Hopefully these will help, if not, explain what you want to do and I'll see if I can help.
most tutorials seems to be very helpful. However, the software looks different from mine. It is Sep 09, 2023. I downloaded a month ago. This means this videos are few years ago.
It was filmed on an earlier version of Inkscape but most of the controls and features are the same. I like my control bar at the top,, yours may be down the right-hand side. You can change it by going to View and unchecking the Wide Screen option at the bottom of the drop down menu.
Hopefully you managed it in the end, if you didn't, you need to make sure the text is selected, then you should be able to click on a colour swatch at the bottom to colour it. The text may have a stroke colour which is obscuring the fill colour. To remove the Stroke colour hold down shift and click the X swatch at the bottom left. Sometimes you may encounter a glitch with Inkscape, often closing it down and starting a fresh page will fix it. Hope you get it sorted.
@@CreateForFree i tried that many times and it did not work. I ended up completely removing the downloaded version and redownloading inkscape again. Its a glitch that needs to be addressed.
Your videos are super clear and helpful! Thanks for sharing!
Glad to hear you're finding them helpful

I can't even add text into the screen. Nothing, literally nothing
Might be worth reloading Inkscape if you are still having problems
@@CreateForFree I reinstalled and it worked via open shot. Thank you
