Absolute wonderful job! What most people don’t understand is we buy our property when we are young and as we age, there are more and more things we are unable to do. And on a fixed income, can’t afford to have someone come on a regular basis! God bless these men for making her home beautiful again!
Everything you said is so true but in all honesty what will the property look like a year from if she is of limited funds. She really needs to consider downsizing I’m sure she has built up some real equity in her home, use that money to have a more carefree life in maintenance free apartment. I know now that both me and my wife are 70 it gets harder and harder to maintain our 120 acre property and the house and outbuildings we built on raw land 30 years ago. It will be hard to move from everything we built here but it’s the practical thing to do but bless you for generous use of your time and labor.
My husband and I are in our mid-60’s and help out elderly neighbors in their 80’s who want to remain in their home. We do repairs for the cost of materials and they have referred us to their friends outside the neighborhood. I doubt anyone will be there for us. One neighbor was trying to sell their home and they had already moved out an hour away. The husband is legally blind and can’t drive and she got covid and had planned to come take care of the yard as the recent rains had caused an explosion of weeds. I offered to spray them and spent the day working on it and one of their next door neighbors saw me and asked about it. I had also been spreading mulch in their xeriscaped areas. The next door neighbor mowed their own lawn and did the neighbor’s as well. Others started volunteering their services as well simply because they were shamed that a disabled woman was helping rather than complaining as others had about the eyesore that the yard had become.
I laughed so hard when that one guy said "wow look at this sidewalk this is weird"??? I laughed so hard because when the camera was pointing across the street I saw a corner and an intersection and thought OH that center tree is in a sidewalk area (City property) and people can't cross the street to go to the other sidewalk corner on the other side of the street. OOP"S the owner's might have to take out that center tree??? Still laughing.
What an amazing transformation. The entire street corner was obscured by that huge juniper but now it is an attractive and beautiful asset to the neighborhood. You didn't merely cut the branches; rather you manicured and shaped it to its aesthetic perfection.
Hopefully she can start clearing out some of the garbage that has just been dumped in the yard over the years, like golf cart, old tvs, mini tractors, etc. When people are overwhelmed they tend to make matters worse by just adding to the chaos because “dealing” with it is exhausting. So crap piles up little by little and a year later it’s an even bigger nightmare. This property is massive, on top of her troubles. I think I counted 3 garages! She definitely needs to sell and downsize and start enjoying a freer emotional state. This cleanup was a gift from the universe , I hope she runs with it!
Great job Brian!! The junipers look so much better!!! And whatever bald spots there are will grow back 😂 I have just one request, PLEASE wear a MASK!!!!! It is so unhealthy for your lungs to be around all of the dust and dirt. We care about you!! See you next week for another amazing video!
Well it looks butchered to you, but my eyes see a really nice job cutting it down, looks hundred times better than sprawling all over the sidewalk and taking up a huge part of her lawn. Good job is what I say and it looks beautiful to me.
The front bushes look fantastic after you turned them into bonsai. So much structure and less clutter. Front yard looks great, side yard look great too. Back yard looks great except for the dead tree.
You didn’t butcher the juniper tree but instead created a safer corner for traffic. It probably caused a lot of near misses in its state before. Property looks great now and with a few fall rains, the bushes and grass will get greener again. KS has its dry summers and looks like this property had a bad year. Kudos to you Brian and helper!!
Every time you turned a corner there was something big to deal with! That juniper - all junipers - are such a pain! You did an exemplary job of clearing the dreck that they create underneath- oh my back was aching watching you do that. Hoping she is healing from her loss - that property is pretty amazing if the junk was hauled off! Kudos to you Brian - you go above and beyond every time 🎉😊
You did so much work All the days you slept in school has benefited all those people in need of a hard working man who takes pride in his work God bless you❣️

How sweet of you guys to help out. You always do beautiful work. Btw, I laughed out loud when you fell asleep at your desk.... again. 😂 See you next time.
Incredible job!! I love what you did to the junipers !! Who would have thought to do that. Junipers are slow growing plants, so those must have been quite old to get to that size. Interesting.
Well I’ve just started watching it but at least they had a big gate to go through for your equipment and hauling stuff out. It’s the simple things in life that excite you. Lolol. Beautiful job
My favorite video so far. Loved what you did with the bushes in the front. It gives her some privacy. The neighbors can use the sidewalks and maybe, just maybe the people who help her with the lawn can do more for her. Great job!
My God you did a fantastic job. That lady really needed you there. Matter of fact I'm pretty sure she'd love nothing more than to have you always take care of her yard ❤️ And on top of that I love what you did with that bush out front and uncovering the complete sidewalk you did a bang up job!!! If you're choosing teams, I'm team "get rid of the juniper" Over the years, we've had several of them and by tge time we inherited them, they were overgrown and full of wasps nests. I did that 20-some years ago. I was renting a house that had big evergreen bushes in the front yard. One day I peeked inside the outer greenery and noticed it had a cool, twisted structure. So I channeled my inner Mr. Miyagi and started pruning. They looked awesome when I was finished.
