THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for sharing these. We will treasure it forever. Goodness how my viola playing son Shota and namesake Natalie-Anne grow up so fast...
My how you've grown I remember that phrase From my childhood days too, "Just wait and see" I remember those words and how they chided me When patient was the hardest thing to be Because we can't make up for the time that we've lost I must let these memories provide No little girl can stop her world to wait for me I should have known At your age, in a string of days, the year is gone But in that space of time it takes so long Because we can't make up For the time that we've lost I must let these memories provide No little girl can stop her world to wait for me Every time we say goodbye You're frozen in my mind As the child that you'll never will be You never will be again I'll never be Be more to you than a stranger could be Every time we say goodbye You're frozen in my mind As the child that you'll never will be You'll never will be again Every time we say goodbye You're frozen in my mind As the child that you'll never will be Will be again
I like Natalie's solo material, but imo, 10k Maniacs albums surpasses this, by a distance. Eden is my favourite album of their's and it's a brilliant body of work, by the band.
@@underock4 I have always liked the 'Eden' album since buying it in 1992, but as the years have rolled by, the songs sound better and better. 'Noah's Dove', 'Eden', 'Jezebel', 'Tolerance' and this beautiful song 'How You've Grown', to name just a few.
The band definitely contributed to the album. It was clear that Natalie Merchant had developed into a really strong (solo) songwriter by then, but I still feel that it was a group album.
@@portcullis5622 Agree 100%, they are all stunning songs, some of their finest imo. If I had only one album to listen to for perpetuity, from all the bands I love, it would be, Our Time in Eden
Awaiting the Trifecta: Natalie, Sarah McLachlan, & Tori. Michelle Branch as understudy. Michael needs much work. I hope he's gotten better since. Viva NM!
Cotton Alley delivers yet another 10KM gem. Thanks!
Lord. What a gorgeous performance. And Morgan Fichter on violin!

The healing voice
NM always pulls the negative energy out of me and lifts my soul when listening to her.

Thanks for video...just lovely.
Thank you Cotton.
I have not seen NM perform since 2013 and she left me with tears in my eyes.
Everytime. Er, I mean, something in my eye...
I'm not crying, you're crying.

Wonderful to see these live versions of two of her finest songs. Thank you so much for uploading this.
My how you've grown I remember that phrase
From my childhood days too, "Just wait and see"
I remember those words and how they chided me
When patient was the hardest thing to be
Because we can't make up for the time that we've lost
I must let these memories provide
No little girl can stop her world to wait for me
I should have known
At your age, in a string of days, the year is gone
But in that space of time it takes so long
Because we can't make up
For the time that we've lost
I must let these memories provide
No little girl can stop her world to wait for me
Every time we say goodbye
You're frozen in my mind
As the child that you'll never will be
You never will be again
I'll never be
Be more to you than a stranger could be
Every time we say goodbye
You're frozen in my mind
As the child that you'll never will be
You'll never will be again
Every time we say goodbye
You're frozen in my mind
As the child that you'll never will be
Will be again

'Our Time In Eden' was essentially Natalie's first solo album. Where are the rest of the Maniacs?

Jerry could never pull off the puffy shirt the way Natalie did.
