- In this video, I outline the technique that I use for painting 10mm ACW figures from Pendraken Miniatures.
I don't paint 10mm figures too regularly so I knew that I would need to adjust how I normally paint 28mm miniatures. I have found that by using a simple process and aiming for quantity over quality, i can paint 40 figures in very little time.
These are to be used (eventually......) for Black Powder, Sharp Practice and Rebels and Patriots. If you paint 10mm more often than I do, I'd love to hear of your hints, tips and techniques.
If you have any questions or comments about how I paint Pendraken 10mm figures, just pop them below and I will certainly respond to all comments and questions. If you like these types of videos, please give it a like and consider subscribing.

Happy gaming and may your dice roll well!
Lovely. I too have been bitten by the 10mm bug but I'm doing the War of Spanish Succession with Pendraken figures. I've almost finished a good sized French force and I'll be getting stuck in to a Grand Alliance army after Christmas (or maybe before!). These 10mm are so easy to paint and look great en masse.
Thanks Ian! These have fallen by the wayside and have been replaced by Warlord Games Epic ACW range. I'm hoping to finish these this year. I definitely agree that the Pendraken figures are really lovely to paint. I'm very interested on their WW2 range too 😃
Looking great I am in the middle of painting hundreds of these guys and am using posca paint pens for straps and bits n pieces as well as brush painting
Thanks Richard, much appreciated! I found that I changed my normal painting process quite significantly for figures of this size. Its always interesting to hear the different techniques and tips that people use for painting figures between 10mm and 15mm as there are so many different ways of approaching them and a whole host of materials and paints to use. Keep me updated buddy, I would love to know how you get on with yours! :)
Lovely work to small for my old eyes, lol but very impressive, all the best Garry
Cheers Garry! Yes, they are a big change to what I usually paint but I always enjoy a challenge :)
Nice update, I love 10mm but my old eyes are going now haha
Thanks Sean! Yup, they can be a bit of a pain which is why I paint them every now and again :)
Very interesting,I currently paint 28mm and thinking about having a go at a smaller scale but a bit apprehensive about painting figures this small but i must say they look great so i might just get a single pack and if i get on ok maybe getting an army which given Pendraken's pricing is very cheap compared to 28mm. Thanks for posting the video.
Thanks for the comment and kind feedback Douglas, its much appreciated! I too mainly paint in 28mm but have been dipping my toe into both 10mm and 15mm figures recently. I have only good things to say about Pendraken and their range - you get a lot of figures for your money and they are well sculpted and very easy to work with. Keep me updated if you decide to give it a go :)
Sounds good to me
Great but what size are your bases
Working on a set of kallistra ones myself. Wonder how close they are in scale.
I think with 12mm figures, I imagine that they would probably mix in pretty well with 10mm miniatures quite well. There isn't that much of a size difference and with different poses and positions, I think they'd work quite well together :)
At 2'10 you mention something that sounds like "Normal Oil" I think for the wash. What is that exactly? The transcript doesn't help unfortunately.
That will more than likely be Nuln Oil, a Citadel black wash by Games Workshop. I've moved away from using Citadel washes since I made this video and would use a Vallejo black wash if I was painting these today. Hope that helps! 😃👍
@@OnPointHQ Ah, brilliant. Thanks for that.
