- Pianist Scott Kirby's beautiful rendition of Scott Joplin's Bethena Concert Waltz at the 29th annual West Coast Ragtime Festival, November 21, 2015 in Sacramento, CA. It was ragtime piano galore!
I've heard many version of this but this one satisfies me best all round .... ive heard it too fast too slow but this has a nice middle ground with a freedom of expression within it
Bethena is my favorite waltz of all time, and magnetic rag is my favorite ragtime song both of which this gentleman plays very well.. I wished that he played Treemonisha the slow rag
One of my favorite works by Scott Joplin. You capture a goodly amount of the emotional energy that it deserves. Thank you.
This is my favorite performance of this song. He plays every note the correct way and with true meaning.
