In this free video drum lesson I'm going to take you through two of my favourite drum fills from the song "Walk" by Pantera. Vinnie Paul plays with both power and subtlety - a rare combination for drummers, I'm sure you'll agree!
The song is based in triplets giving the song it's "shuffle" feel. This makes the drum fills even more interesting and quirky to listen to.
Vinnie Paul is known for his metal drumming but boy, can this guy groove and swing! Try listening to this song whilst NOT nodding your head or tapping your foot...it's irresistible!

i play drum since 2 years now. i did my first show last week end. i learned toxicity and chop suey from you. a friend of mine and my sister study in music. really good comments from them. even the other band drummer. thank you a lot. now we want walk. my friend who study said i will give some advice for walk. lol i will be like: 1-2-3....kick..not 1-2-3-kick...he will be like ok you dont need me...thank you again.

My seven year old boy has learn drum for half a year. He counts and reads well and can do all groves of Walk, only fills with about 70% speed. I asked the tuitor to give some tips about how to do these fills, got rejected😂, and was told this song is for about grade 5,,,

I thought Walk was in 12/8 !?
6/8 and 12/8 are the same thing. It's just whether you are counting 6 beats per bar or 12. They are played exactly the same.
