    Super Helpful! i just ran to the pool store and installed in 5min which is a massive win for my non-technical self. :-) Thanks a million for the video!

    I haven't worked for them since 2000 and didn't know they stopped selling replacement piston assemblies. And yes we always had a huge test tank right next to the assembly line and each module would run through a full cycle.

    Should I set the pool return to just the pop ups, or split 50/50 between the pop ups and the return jets on the sides of the pool?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  2 роки тому +1

      To get the best cleaning performance from your pop-ups you would want 100% of the water returned to them. Hope this helps!

    what have you found to be the life expectancy of the 6 port module?

    • @ePoolSupply

      Hello, Normally about 2 to 3 years.

    Great video! My system only has 5 zones so one of the 6 pipes is intentionally blocked. Would you know if there are any special considerations for installation (orientation, settings)? Thanks in advance.

      @ePoolSupply  3 роки тому

      Hi there, to answer simply no there isn't anything specific you need to do other than remove the old one and replace with the new. May need to rotate it so it will fall into place and line up but that is pretty much it. Hope this helps!

    Great video!!! Shame that the last 2 I purchased lasted only 2 years each... The previous one seems to have lasted at least 8 years not sure what is different.

      Thank you for the comment! We appreciate it! We're sorry to hear about your Paramount 6 Port Gear Module only lasting 2 years instead of your previous one that lasted 8. Not quite sure what is different, only thing we can tell you is that the 6 Port Gear Module is a high quality product manufactured by Paramount, it is a product that we can vouch for. But we hope you have better luck on your next purchase. If you have any questions pertaining to the manufacturing or wanting to know what might be different we highly recommend calling Paramount directly: 1-800-621-5886

    Great video; thanks. About how long should these valves last if running continuously?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  4 роки тому

      Hi There, These items can continuously work for a number of year when running consistently. However, a lot of factors play into the life of the module such as water chemistry, sun exposure, pressure, etc. You do receive a full one year warranty from Paramount when purchased as well!

  • @adamsheet9737

    what causes the modules to fail. I seem to have to replace these, once a year. Also, can I use a 6 port in place of a 4 port?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  2 роки тому

      Hi there, There are a lot of different factors that can contribute to the wear of these modules like use and or water chemistry as an example, therefore they only have a life expectancy of 2 to 3 years. To answer your follow-up question simply, no. You cannot use a 6 port in place of a 4 port gear module, does not work like that. I hope I was able to answer your questions with a bit of clarity. Have a great week!

    My pressure guage keeps staying at 0. Do I need to replace the whole module?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  3 місяці тому

      It is either a bad module or the pressure gauge is bad.

    • @ePoolSupply

      there is no generic version of the 6 port. It is a one of kind product

  • @rirsz

    My issue was that one of my zones would not close (3 heads stayed up). I decided to replace the valve, but for some reason i'm still having the same issue except this time it's a different zone. I did verify that the switch was on run and even moved it a few times, and the other zones still work just with less pressure.

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  2 роки тому

      Sounds like the gear module is bad. Replacing the valve but using the same gear module will not fix that issue. At least that's what it sounds like.

    What is the Minimal operating PSI for this valve? Does it need to be at 20 psi and higher to function correctly? That is the number I found in the installation manual. Just wondering what you have seen in the real world. Also if it is not at the normal PSI and everything is clean then what have you seen as a cause of low psi at the valve?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  4 роки тому

      Hi there, The optimal range for your Paramount 6-Port Valve is between roughly 18-22 PSI. It does not need to be higher than 20PSI to function properly as you do not need that much pressure to operate your heads. You will see a fluctuation on PSI for each zone of heads as they vary in size and strength. If you are still having a low pressure at the valve it is most likely due to air in the system or a valve shut causing water to flow elsewhere in your system.
      If you are having any other issues I would suggest contacting your local pool company for more information.

    • @ePoolSupply

      You need to use more force and try to get some leverage with a screwdriver or something that will fit in between.

    I have four PCC2000 pop ups in bottom of pool what is the correct replacement for this paramount gear module for 4 pop ups?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  4 роки тому

      Hello, you will need to take the module out of your system and see which one you have. It’s all dependent on what your pool builder installed. If there are no stickers on the valve identifying it, then you can watch our video on how to identify your paramount module.

    what happens when the pool pump is on but its not showing pressure on the gauge? I took the lid off and turned the motor on and water shoots out of the center pipe and replaced the gauge but still doesn't show pressure

    WHen my system comes on in the morning for the first 30 -45 mins I get air coming out of some of the pool heads. Is this normal? If it is a closed system why is there air in the line? I do have a solar heater, is that why i am getting air in the line?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  Рік тому

      You either have a leak somewhere is the system or you may have a UV or Ozone system that pushes oxygen out the heads. Hope this helps!

    How long are these things supposed to last? This is my 4th season and I think it's already dead (6 heads coming up at same time)

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  4 роки тому

      These things can last anywhere from 4 years to 6 months. There are a lot of factors here including pressure and water chemistry that can alter the life of the valve. However, these have a 1 year manufacturing warranty. So call Paramount if it stopped working!

    I replaced my module twice! It keeps getting stuck on one zone. Each zone is 12 on the pressure gauge, its stays on that zone for about a min and moves to the next... The zone it gets stuck on the pressure is 22. Much higher for some reason. It gets stuck here. Any clue why I get so much pressure on only one zone? or why its keeps getting stuck? I returned the last module for a new one thinking it was the module.. I put the new module in and it did the same exact thing. Anyone have any advice on this issue?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  Рік тому

      Sounds like there might be a blockage in that line. You can try to clear it by taking the pop-ups out and running the pump at full speed for a couple of hours to see if that will clear the line. Hope this helps.
