Easy Fix for Samsung Dishwasher Basket Adjuster

- This video shows a quick, easy and inexpensive fix for a common issue that happens on the Samsung Dishwasher Model DMT800RHS. During normal use, the plastic tabs break off of the basket adjuster mechanism one at a time until the basket adjuster comes loose.

I did your recommendation and added one more that goes vertical, wraps under the bottom and over the top, but under the adjuster. works great and helps keep the horizontal one in your video on and tight.

It looks like Samsung already detected this design flaw. In its new machines, the adjuster was banished and the rack comes with 2 sets of wheels in parallel. To adjust the hight, you must now remove the rack and replace it over the other set of wheels. A more annoying but robust solution.
Do you know if this new design could be retro-fitted to this particular dishwasher?
We had broken tabs stop the pump in our dishwasher twice, you just have to remove the lower spray bar and the screen below it to get them out.

This is just what happened to my dishwasher. Do the ties ever slip off on the bottom and does the hot water temperature affect the ties?

So where did the broken tabs go and how can you recover them?
This issue has happened to me 4 times now. The bad thing is if you don't catch the broken tab before it falls off on its own, it will go down into the motor and cause other issues. Because I bought Sear's repair service contract, I have been replacing the entire adjuster. But about 6 months after installing a new one, they too start to get brittle and begin breaking. This is due to the fact that the plastic cannot withstand the hot water and begins to breakdown over time.
Obviously, this is a manufacturing/engineering defect that Samsung should really address and produce a new part that doesn't do this.
