The binning of these units caught me by suprise honestly. I guess GA have to justify the 130+ 720s they ordered, right? Which I could accept *only* if the Renatus project didn't happen. Still, hopefully you enjoy this little compilation. I might do with with some other trains in the future, but don't hold your breath over it.
Still remember the occasional 321s trundling out of Kings Cross at the other end when they were still with First Capital Connect. That and the purple FCC 317s from all those eons! Really sad to see them go. Will never forget the scream of those motors whenever one of these units would emerge from the Copenhagen tunnel
I wonder if a few of these might be sent to Scotrail as a stopgap, since there seems to be such little evident progress on their BEMU acquisition program
...I feel like less and less people know what words mean. It's not doxing to say "My local train station is Wickford" unless you were the only inhabitant of Wickford. You could always just...not say anything regarding that as well?
Nice video of the Class 317... what do you mean thats the wrong one? I'm shocked that the 321 is being withdrawn, so soon after the Renatus project. Are the 321 due to the scrap god or are they going to maybe get a new life somewhere else?
There are rumors the Renatus units will be put into storage instead of disposal, but there’s so many spare EMUs out there I don’t know about the long term
What a waste! Perfectly good trains which as far as I have seen, do not have any major flaws and they are just being sent to storage!? Why not keep them in service on the smaller and less demanding routes and increase services on the more demanding routes using the surplus 720s?

I only ever travelled on 1 321 in my entire life and I found it alright but I don't see the same level of greatness other people get from them

Over 14 years of filming for a 25 minute video
These were definitely a train for the archives, they were amazing . As old as they were they had character imo. Best looking mk 2 gen BRELs imo.

Well to be a bit pedandic, they're several steps ahead of you since the 320/4s are ex London Midland units.
@@MaverickHunterDaniel Yes, I was thinking perhaps a few more, since they already have some...
1 Year later: Very much missed in Wickford (I just doxed my local I know), they were just much nicer units overall, also that scream never gets old :)

never went on the renatus ones but i still miss these
You're not missing much. Air con was nice as well as a toilet big enough for the disabled but the seats were garbage.
I'm a big 321 fan and it's such a shame that their being sent for scrap especially just 3-5 years of the Renatus project. 😔

Mostly scrap God :(
Wasn’t there going to be a railtour for the 321s? I know there is one for the 313s and I chose to avoid that by riding some 313s on Monday.
Wow that’s a long video
Shame I never got to see the 321s :(
There gone
they retired nooooooo not to the scrap god

They will already have too many 720s, since COVID has changed demand some
Considering they lasted longer then the 379s they did a good job 👍
@@millercool21 By a long shot! You have a good point there lol. I think Greater Anglia have wasted so much of their stock!
