    We made another LED Sphere Display. This one has higher led density and it can be 3d printed.

    Time to make the v1 size using v2 leds for the max experience 😁

      ceiling fan in reverse on a low speed in the winter will help bring the warm air from the ceiling onto the ground, preventing cold feet and making people less likely to turn on the home heat, saving you energy. ceiling fans use a surprisingly low amount of electricity, especially on low. Clockwise in the winter, counterclockwise in the summer, for the most common blade pitch direction.

    • @DrZzs
      @DrZzs  4 місяці тому

      Perhaps, but I am not sure how you would line them up. You could pick a point and have that location lined up but then the rest of it wouldn't line up. In the end I thought that was too much work for a single location to be lined up.
      In all honesty, in order to make it look better we just need more pixels per inch. The 6 pixels per inch just isn't cutting it.

    2:15 The voice over says that the Las Vegas MSG Sphere has one LED per square foot. That sounds unreasonably low. The information that I found on the Internet is that the outer area is 580,000 square feet, covered in 1.2 million "pucks" containing 24 LED's each. So I'm calculating 50 LED's per square foot, or 0.3 LED per square inch.

      Using this as a topper would be great. Doesn't look any bigger than a 36" star. The electronics could then be in a waterproof case and placed on the tree pole instead of within the sphere. This would decrease the weight of the sphere. The more I think of this the more excited I am for doing this project. I just received my @mattosdesigns medium Tilt-Up Tree which will stand about 8 feet high and I think that this would be more unique than just another star. High much filament was used to print this? More than 1KG spool?@@DrZzs

    Anyone can do this,...mm i dont think so !!!! & i am a qualified electronic engineer ,with 20 years.experience, yes ive done similar projects. it takes a lot of man hours ,with good soldering skills & knowledge of components + well expensive, The mechanical POV LED Globe would be more suitable for beginners, it's a lot cheaper and less time consuming to build. This does look well cool though. I was unaware of the las vegas one. Keep up the good work, love it.

      Respectfully, I firmly believe that anyone can accomplish this! It took us numerous failures to grasp these concepts, but failure is simply a stepping stone to learning. Starting a project from scratch is undoubtedly challenging, but we've tackled many of the toughest aspects and with a supportive community, there's abundant big brains available.
      I concur that the journey from the beginning wasn't smooth sailing; it took two of us two to three months to navigate through it all. Even then, we relied heavily on our community to figure out the Xlights model.
      Thanks for watching and the comment!

    How much PLA did you need for the print?

      If this is going outside I would not use PLA. Either PETG or ASA. PLA degrades fast in weather.

    While that is cool, I have to day strips are just prone to failure. It might last a small amount of time before having to replace it. I bet using the nano pixels or fairy lights as some call them, this would make it last longer but regardless this is awesome

    What buttons do i use for a smart home? I'm thinking right now I want matter/thread switches so I can directly use home assistant to link them to output devices without a system in between. But I also want those switches to be wired, I also want them to be compatible with future switches. I don't want to replace wires if there will be a better switch out there. I also want like half of my switches to have 4 buttons or more. I want a few to have a dimming option. I also don't want them to use wifi so I dont overload my router. Where the hell do I start. What do you recommend?

    “You” can build it? If “you” have a 3d printer and the knowledge to use it and the time and money this takes as well as posses every other tool and skill set required. This is a fantastic project and it seems to me it possible to replicate it based upon your videos directions. Drop the click bate title and do yourself the honor of acknowledging the difficulty and technical know how this project takes. You are disingenuous by acting like everybody can do this obviously. I know people who can’t make pancakes. I know people who can’t put a chain on a bike. I know people who can’t change a tire on their car. I know people who can’t do a google search. This is so far into the realm of advanced diy in every regard: skills required, tools required, money required, time required. Change your title guys. You’re better than that. Awesome project!!!!
