There are lots of reasons why boys should have access to dolls! During early development, doll play encourages speech, and imagination. As kids get older, dolls can be helpful for storytelling and learning how to care for others (like little siblings, or for people to grow into caring mothers and fathers). And like any other toy, dolls open the artistic path for creativity! These are all excellent things for girls AND boys to learn!
113 &112 were my favorite dolls out of the new TMs (in my collection they are twins). 113 is so cute and distinctive. The boy outfits are the best quality that AG sells currently.
I love my 113!! Congrats on getting your first boy!! I saw a young boy at the store (who was clearly there with his sister) and he was playing with the boy doll’s legs ❤❤ I love hearing stories and seeing stuff like that! 🥰 My boy dolls hair doesn’t get done often, but I went row by row on his wefts, I just used the mini claw clips to section it off. Wetting and combing his curls, twisting them with the tips of my fingers (like tightening a screw) I did soak his body so I got a cape for next time, but his curls come out so beautiful and realistic! ❤
Thank you! At some point I will probably use that exact same method to define his curls. I really love the product photo on the website and I want mine to look exactly like him!
He is so cute! I love his hair, I'd love to see more boy dolls with curly hair! The AG sale has been WILD - I think I'm on my third shipment right now because they just keep marking stuff down further and further.
I love the plaid outfit. The trousers just shout bob cratchit to me.We also went overboard on the end of year sale. I got 2 Asian boys - one I will do an eye and wig swap so they look different. Also got the old addy mold boy. He’s so cute. You really can’t beat $65 for a brand new doll.
I have him too! I got him in July. I bought the outfit too! My only boy doll I bought new as well. But I have three Logans. I thought he was so cute too. All my boys always had a doll or two they each had a "My Twinn" and my boys are now 24 and 27 years old.
I love him. Is the hair textured like AA dolls or more like a blend? Also my son had a doll 33 years ago..boys with dolls become caring nurturing dads, uncles, doctors, nurses, teachers etc.
His hair doesn't LOOK textured (like Addy's) but it definitely FEELS textured. I really like his wig! IMO it's a little long in some key placed, but I probably will clean it up just a bit. Overall a great doll though. I'm so glad your son had a doll - I agree with you!
Oh, i want this boy too 😍 it' so frustrating to live outside US and love AG 😢😂 I also have that tartan outfit, but paid over 50 $ for it, but have not gotten the boy yet...to many girls on my list 😄
I swear if they hadn't named the brand "American Girl", they would've had a much bigger worldwide market for it. But yeah, everyone outside the US has to pay a gigantic premium to get them, which sucks! Hopefully you can get him before too long!
@@idreamofjonny you might be right 😌 but they could at least sold to other countries if you paid for shipping, but the only option are ebay. And they as well are no fun. If the doll are sold for a low price, the shipping are often 4 times more than for an more expensive doll or item 🤷🤐 Should maybe check out your page more often 🤔☺️😄 thanks for your reply, and always nice videos 👍
I have Logan and he's my first and only boy doll. I do have 2 bitty babies that needs to be sent into doll hospital. I think one of them are a boy doll but I never gotten around to sending the twin's to get fixed
At some point I'll get Logan! I had one that needed fixing up, but I didn't have the time so I found him a new home. But I'd like to get him again someday!
I’m happy that you’re doing the thing you love I’m still excited to see you with kaya kaya was my first doll ever I don’t have my child hood Kaya but a modern kaya and I love your new doll what name are you thinking about naming for your boy doll
It'll be good to see them in person to see if you like them! They always look so different in person and I'm always crossing my fingers that I get a good one when I order online!
I bought 113 with his ears pierced. That was a mistake. I thought it would be cute but they botched it and it made him look like a girl in my opinion. So I swapped his eyes with my 77 since he had ‘good eyes’ and my 77 didn’t. Then sold him cheap on eBay. 🤷♀️ I want to get another one just with no pierced ears
Aw bummer! I thought about piercing his ears for a second, but I do agree it doesn't take much for them to feel more like a girl doll. I'm glad your 77 got an upgrade at least!
For me when unboxing a new doll I just pull the arms free and it hurts my hand in the progress cause the plastic things they use now cause they theirs people who are allergic to latex rubber bands that AG used to use to hold the dolls in the box
Oh yeah, I didn't think about the latex allergy! I wish they had done this all along because the old rubber bands are always dried out, so there are very few pristine ones!
I am glad parents attitudes are changing regarding gendered toys/expected play. kids who play atypically often pick up on the fact that it’s “odd” from parent/adults who is enforcing gender roles. Kids just like what they like (at least for AG’s demo, all bets are off when they are in middle school) at least from my experience. Like the wording of action figure vs. doll being a point of debate. Even boys having stuffed animals being seen as negative/“weird” which is unfair. Some parents too aren’t aware of their own biases and don’t really realize what they are saying/how it could affect their child. The “don’t be your kids first bully” concept. The 90s 00s “parental compromises” I have heard of are always kind of funny. Like boys getting a Ken doll only because (well at least he’s a boy) or G.I. Joe. Certain things I wanted, if they had a pink version it was ok etc.
Yep, definitely feel you on this one. All this stuff is completely made up and it's just insane how crazy people get over all this stuff. Things will continue to get better, but it definitely takes reevaluating the reasons we do what we do. Usually there's no good reason haha. If a doll like this was marketed to boys when I was a kid, I would've been allowed to have him.
I just watched! I can't wait to go to AGP Charlotte. If you dare to cut his hair, I wanna see! Mine needs a tiny hair trim to look like the website. BTW, the way you dragged your niece in the video had me ROLLING 🤣

I hope you did not cut his hair as you planned to do…you just need to tighten the curls with some gel or hairspray and still get the look you have wanted…I hope my comment is not yet too late…😊😟☺️
Some people just don't like them! It might be the closed mouth. If you could make it to a store to see one in person, it might change your mind. They look a lot different in real life!

Boy dolls are the best! I didn't think I would like one until I got mine and I'm in love. I definitely want some more!
This makes me so happy to see that people are still doing doll reviews and unboxings. ❤
It's so nice to see how excited you are and how happy you are. ❤️
Thank you - I love unboxing a new doll!

The boy dolls work great cause they can be a sibling or a friend from the historical characters books.
Definitely!

@@idreamofjonnyI think this method made his curls look tight and juicy. Very similar to how he looks on the website, but less frizzy! ❤️
Congratulations on your first brand new American Girl Boy Doll!
Thank you so much!
Try a hair pick to get the curls how you want them.
I will, thanks!
I collect MAINLY boy dolls and I’m glad to see other people liking them too! I myself got a Truly Me 75 from 2018.
He's so cute! Your excitement about him makes me want to get him! Thanks for sharing!!😃❤️
I bought him too. He’s adorable ❤

Yeah, I just placed my 3rd order. This sale is kicking my ass!!
I just placed my second order lol
I'm so glad you got this guy! He's on my list to get if I end up getting more boys. His hair is amazing!

He’s soooo cute! I love the plaid items from the Janie and jack collection.
Oh my goodness he is so cute! I really wanna get some of the boy dolls, they're adorable!

I don’t have an AG boy, I have a pottery barn kids Gotz boy and he’s super cute, he is rocking this outfit right now. ♥️

Just got #113 for Christmas- wish AG had more boy or unisex clothes .
He is adorable!
He's even cuter in person!

Ok im convinced I need a boy doll when I go to LA now😂

I bought the Tartan plaid outfit for $13 and it's on back order until Feb 3rd. I hope I get it.
Mine just shipped. And the last time I checked online they were in stock.

Is there a video on how to remove dolls to save the packaging?
The American Girl Logan doll needs to come back. He is the best.
Why is their a piece of foam padding in his shoes. First time seeing that. It has to be to protect the feet.
I think it's to keep the tongue of the shoe from giving his leg a shine mark

He isn't ugly, the face is cute, but there is always something a bit off to me about AG's boy dolls

@@idreamofjonny I'm hoping to make it to the DC store soon. I will check out the boy dolls.
Are his eyes grey??
They're brown :)
